2004 Volkswagen R32 Low Miles Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Charleston, South Carolina, United States
For sale: 2004 VW R32, and easily the nicest one for sale on
ebay. 88,420 miles and is only driven once a week to keep the battery charged. Although
the car is not stock, it features only minor modifications designed to enhance
the driveability of the vehicle. This car has had three owners and was in
Colorado until 86,4xx miles so it has no rust or corrosion anywhere on the
vehicle. I have a relatively complete service history since new (have previous
owner’s records) and all services have been performed on time. Both factory
recalls (coil pack, sunroof drain) have been performed on this vehicle. -
First owner owned vehicle up to 58200 miles and
performed the following modifications: o
K&N filter o
ECS tuning stubby antenna (won’t get ripped off
in car wash. Original included) o
ECS tuning clear side markers o
Hawk performance ceramic brake pads (OE stopping
quality, no brake dust and very long life) -
Second owner was a vehicle broker for his side
business and owned the car for ~2000 miles -
I purchased the vehicle at ~60,200 miles in 2011
and performed the following modifications: o
Carbonio cold air intake with custom AEM Dri-flo
filter to avoid MAF fouling (stock intake is included with vehicle) o
APR tune with stock, 91, 93, and 100 octane tune
with security lockout mode. I’ve seen over 30mpg highway average since
installing the tune o
SSR type-c wheels in 18x8.5 with 235/40/18
Dunlop ZII tires. These are a massive performance upgrade over stock, saving
over 10 lbs/wheel despite the larger width. o
Sport Edition F12 wheels in 17x7.5 with
225/45/17 Yokohama ice guard winter tires. The smaller diameter improved winter
ride quality. o
SEAT Cupra R front lip spoiler gives the car a
sportier touch. o
Replaced front bumper undertray panels- no more
curb rash! I have changed the Haldex differential fluid every 15000
miles or less, which is an extremely important maintenance item on these
vehicles. In addition, transmission and differential fluid was changed at about
84000 miles with Schaffer gear oil by Metrick Methodz in Fort Collins, CO. This car has been freshly detailed inside and out (will have
ext. detail finished 3/9/14), which will leave it looking showroom-fresh aside
from one 3” scuff in the clearcoat behind the driver’s side door. In addition,
the cargo area carpet is wrinkled and the hatch door plastic has a few
scratches in it. The seats show no signs of wear, even the massive driver’s
side bolster- I have always taken great care getting in and out of this thing. This car is an opportunity to buy an R32 that needs nothing,
and if the current market is any indication, should prove to be a good
investment that may even gain value with time. Using the free listing to get my car out there, please contact me for the rest of the pictures that I have of the vehicle and its condition. |

Anti-union group files lawsuit against VW and UAW
Fri, 14 Mar 2014The fight for unionization at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN, factory isn't letting up. Yesterday, the National Labor Relations Board decided to allow anti-United Auto Workers employees at the plant the right to defend voting down the measure. Now, a group called the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of five workers against VW and the UAW for allegedly working together to organize.
The group says in a release that it wants "to block further collusion between the company and the United Auto Workers." It alleges that VW forced workers to attend "mandatory pro-union meetings" and prevented managers from opposing. In a rebuttal on its website, the UAW called the claims "baseless" and said its actions were entirely legal.
One possible problem faces the carmaker in regards to the lawsuit. According to the Detroit Free Press, a recent US Court of Appeals ruling found that neutrality agreements like the one the business had with the UAW could be illegal if the company provided "things of value" to the union. The newspaper also claims that VW held a mandatory employee meeting concerning the election, but workers were free to leave during the UAW's presentation.
VW reveals Outback-rivaling Golf Alltrack ahead of Paris
Wed, 24 Sep 2014The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is getting a baby brother at this year's 2014 Paris Motor Show in the form of a new Golf Alltrack. Like its larger sibling, the little wagon is supposed to offer light-duty off-road driving ability combined with a more rugged look to show it off.
To give the Golf Alltrack that soft-road ability, VW is outfitting the wagon with its latest 4Motion all-wheel drive system from Haldex. The setup can decouple power from the rear-axle when not needed to save fuel. To further improve traction, the Alltrack gets VW's electronic differential lock, and the car can individually brake its inside wheel during hard cornering for better handling.
Volkswagen also wants the Alltrack to be able to visually show that it can handle getting away from the pavement, even though it starts life as a standard Golf wagon. That means jacking up the suspension an extra 0.75 inches and adding black moldings all the way around the car. There are also redesigned bumpers for the front and rear and silver underbody protection, plus new accents like anodized roof rails and silver mirror caps. The interior is essentially unchanged from the wagon, except for altered trim and Alltrack badges.
VW Up Buggy may be headed to showrooms
Tue, 02 Jul 2013Volkswagen showed six conceptual takes on its Up at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, one of those being the Up Buggy. Although few will probably remember it, VW has not forgotten it, applying for a patent for the Meyers Manx revival roadster way back in March 2012 and being approved in June of this year, according to a report in Autocar. That will give the automaker a 14-year lock on the design while it decides whether to move forward with a reboot of its past.
A patent doesn't mean the Up Buggy will ever move beyond the sheet-of-paper stage, but Autocar says VW is studying the market to see if a production version is feasible. We can't see North America ever getting it, but even so, we wouldn't complain if they made it - especially if they put an exposed engine in back that was set off by 18-inch-long twin tailpipes jutting straight up into the air. However, for a company that aims to be the world's number-one automaker by 2018, a niche vehicle for its mass-market brand would be a surprising use of resources.
