Silver/Blue 2002 Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8Turbo - 5-speed Automatic, 130,500 miles for sale by original owner. I have a clean title in hand and documentation of services and repairs since purchase (including original purchase info).
Exterior Condition: fair - there are some dents, scratches, and fading; 15" alloy wheels have been scraped from curb parking Interior Condition: very good - no scratches, stains or tears on the black velour upholstery, no smoking of any kind has ever occurred in this vehicle, no pets, some wear on interior door handles and fabric panels Mechanical Condition: good - has been well-maintained with regular oil changes, runs smoothly, old parts have been replaced as needed (timing belt within the past 2 years, front CV joints and brake pads within the last 6 months) Electrical Condition: The ABS control module is failing. This means the ABS/brake/anti-slip lights come on sporadically, and ABS might not function. This is a common occurrence in older Passats with an easy and inexpensive fix you are welcome to research on "passatworld" and "modulemaster." 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD is our favorite oil-burning GTI

The 2014 Volkswagen Golf GTD has officially bowed at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Engineers managed to squeeze an additional 14 horsepower and 22 pound-feet of torque out of the familiar 2.0-liter turbodiesel four-cylinder engine, nudging total output to 184 hp and 280 lb-ft for 2014. The figures are good enough to earn the GTD the honor of being the most powerful diesel Golf in Volkswagen history. A start/stop system helps improve efficiency over the previous generation with the new model consuming 56 miles per gallon on the EU cycle. That's up from the 2013 model's 46 mpg. A six-speed manual transmission is standard equipment, though a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox is also available.
The GTD also offers buyers a few aesthetic tweaks to help separate the hatch from its less potent siblings. Those include a more aggressive front fascia, special badges and 17-inch alloy wheels. Expect to find the GTD in one of three exterior colors, including Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. Check out the quick press release below for more details.

Thu, 24 Jan 2013Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.

Volkswagen NMC production guise caught in China
Tue, 29 Apr 2014Chinese car site Autohome has what are said to be the first pictures of the Volkswagen New Midsize Coupe concept in production form. VW's NMC was just introduced at the Beijing Motor Show, while background chatter indicated it would go on sale in China, Autohome says that production version will be built at the Shanghai-Volkswagen plant in Ningbo, and the retail guise could be introduced at the Guangzhou Motor Show in November and go on sale that same month.
Assuming this is the production car, its main lines have made the jump from the concept but with less fine detailing, a silver hue and with conventional VW wheels it's lost a little bit of oomph. Still, a few checkmarks on the option sheet can fix most of that, the shape remains handsome and the 2.0-liter turbo underhood keeps performance peppy and mileage frugal enough.
