Volkswagen : 2005 Passat 4 Dr Sedan Gls Tdi on 2040-cars
Naperville, Illinois, United States
I am the original owner of this beautiful 2005 Passat GLS TDI. Body color is United Gray and interior is Anthracite Leather. Actual mileage is currently 91,362. Never wrecked, only a few very minor paint chips and a couple very small door dings. Glass is all perfect. Car is super clean. It has never been smoked in and is always stored in my garage. I had the timing belt, water pump etc. recently changed. Car drives nice and tight, engine runs smoothly and 5 speed automatic transmission shifts as it should. The car has been serviced regularly as needed and specified VW oil 501-01 has always been used. A/C blows cold. Main options are the power sun roof, Monsoon stereo, leather interior with heated seats and the original 17 inch Bi-Star wheels. There is no curb rash or peeling paint on the wheels. I will include a Gorilla trunk liner and original VW Passat heavy duty floor mats if sold at the Buy It Now price of $7,995. A $500 non refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of close of sale. Car is located in Naperville, Illinois and I strongly recommend that you come and inspect the car in person before the auction closes. Car must be picked up within 7 days after close of the auction. Balance of purchase price is due in cash at time of pick up. Will consider other form of payment so long as I am comfortable with it. Please contact me with any questions and I will try answer as quickly and accurately as possible. By bidding and buying this auction, you enter a contract that you have read and understood all the terms and conditions of this auction. |

VW delivers first XL1 in Germany
Mon, Jun 9 2014Volkswagen has delivered the first XL1 diesel plug-in hybrid to a customer from Berlin, Germany. Dr. Christian Malorny received his Oryx White XL1 with black and grey interior from Volkswagen Germany's director of sales and marketing for passenger cars, Thomas Zahn, at the company's Transparent Factory in Dresden. The super-efficient XL1, which first debuted at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, is powered by a 0.8-liter, two-cylinder TDI engine and electric motor, with electricity supplied by a 5.5-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed DSG transmission. With a curb weight of 1,753 pounds and a drag coefficient of just 0.189, the XL1 is rated at 261 miles per gallon on the lenient European cycle. It is capable of traveling solely on electric power for up to 31 miles. "The XL1 has inspired me from the beginning and I am very pleased to now be driving my own," said Malorny, (translated). "With its visionary design and high-tech appearance, Volkswagen has dared something new and innovative." The futuristic XL1 seats two passengers, and can carry 4.2 cubic feet of cargo. It features a carbon fiber reinforced plastic body, and a low center of gravity. It is diminutive of stature, as you can see in the photo, measuring 153.1 inches long, 65.6 inches wide, and just 45.4 inches tall. It is being billed as the world's most efficient production car, but it's unlikely Dr. Malorny will be making his money back on fuel savings any time soon; despite the first sale and the vehicles appearing on the German VW site, Volkswagen has not officially announced the price tag for the XL1. In the past, we've heard it will cost approximately $145,000. Only 250 are being produced. Check out our drive review of the Volkswagen XL1 here or read on for more information in the Google-translated press release, below. VW clubs pay it forward to fix elderly woman's vandalized '69 Bus
Sun, Jan 11 2015Not long after Thanksgiving, surveillance cameras caught four boys in Arizona throwing rocks through the windows of a 1969 Volkswagen bus belonging to an elderly woman called Ann. A few nights later they returned to the scene of the first crime and repeated it, smashing windows they missed before. Ann had no other car and no way to make a living, but when Jesus Aguilera – a member of the Arizona Bus Club – came across the incident on a Facebook page, he got to work. When he was finished, the AZ Bus Club and the Tucson Mob Squad had donated thousands of dollars to pay for new glass and get it installed, and now Ann has a magic bus she can drive again. Now, the vandals just need to be caught... Check out the video above for the story. News Source: AZ FamilyTip: Jav Volkswagen Minivan/Van Classics Videos crime vw bus
Last VW bus ever made arrives at final destination
Fri, 31 Jan 2014A Brazilian politician tried to save it, unsuccessfully, so the final Last Edition Volkswagen Type 2 Kombi was produced on December 20, 2013 and now resides in a vintage museum at Volkswagen's Commercial Vehicles HQ in Hanover, Germany.
The Volkswagen Microbus was built for 56 years, starting in September 1957. Brazil was the last country still assembling it, but new safety regulations in the country requiring airbags and ABS on all cars spelled the end. When that politician introduced a bill that would pardon only the 'Bus from a death sentence, it couldn't garner the required number of votes for passage. The South American country takes the Kombi production title, though, with 1.5 million of the 3.5 million total made in the home of Copacabana beach and the girl from Ipanema.
The VW Bus is dead. Now perhaps we can turn our attentions to the still-not-totally-settled matter of the Bulli...
