Perfect Car for an Affordable Price

Just coming in my possession is one exceptionally nice only 1 owner, 2003 VW Passat Sedan GLS, with all the special options. This one has a quiet and dry 1.8 liters turbo, 4 cylinders, that drives wonderfully with no smoke or leaks. There's a fun manual/stick shift transmission. The brakes are strong, and the suspension is tight and tracks smoothly. It is equipped with front-wheel drive that works fine. Heather works just fine and the A/C blows cold. The interior of the car is in great shape with all power heated leather seats that are not ripped, burned, or stained, the carpets are clean and the headliner is spotless and tight. All the power buttons work including locks, windows, and cruise. The trunk is spotless and was never abused and obviously derives from a non-smoker and no-pet past. The body of the car is in terrific shape with only few cosmetic scratches and otherwise not a major dent or sign of rust on the body anywhere. The paint shines just wonderfully and the front lights are clear and look terrific. It has a very nice set of almost new, 50% tread left tires and good CT inspection through December of 2015 so this is a turn-key-and-go Jeep. If you were looking for a very clean and great running car with all the comforts and amenities and didn’t want to spend big retail prices, this is a really good one and will be sold with no reserve so thanks for looking and good luck.

Best Regards,

Alex - (203) 292-6302

Terms and Conditions - Full Disclosure

Please read this information thoroughly prior to placing your bid

Regarding Liens

None of my cars are sold with existing liens on them and all titles are in hand when the cars are sold. Since eBay has decided to include history reports on all the old cars as well as the late models, there are lien records showing up on the reports. All cars have had liens on them at one time or another especially when they were newer. My cars do not have existing liens.

“Prior to re-conditioning”

I test drive all my cars prior to offering them for sale on this auction and any faults are disclosed to the best of our ability. I do not run them through a service facility but rely on our experience to tell you what problems they may have. My prices are generally way below the average retail values listed in the most popular pricing guides so our cars are not detailed or re-conditioned but sold in the same way they were purchased or traded. They are simply washed and put out for sale. You will not find the motors cleaned and you won’t find shiny protectorates such as “Armor-All” on them and the cars will be in their original traded condition. This allows you to buy the car for less money and me to do less work. If you are receptive to buying a car in this fashion, the savings are yours. Because I sell cars in every state, inspections are not guaranteed in any state as each state differs in their requirements so it is virtually impossible for us to guarantee inspection. Options such as power windows, cruise control, air conditioning etc. are not guaranteed however we will do our best to mention any items that are not working. Check engine lights and others will be mentioned if they are showing. I will not under any conditions guarantee the check engine lights or any dash warning lights as if they are on we will disclose this and we do not do a diagnosis to see what it is because they can come on at any time for any number of reasons so these lights are not guaranteed if they come on for you. This is a unique way of selling automobiles and if you are receptive to these conditions you will take advantage of the lower prices.

“0” feedback bidders should call or email prior to placing your bid

I do not want to discourage you from bidding, only to verify that you are serious! Without this contact your bid will be cancelled. Buying a car on eBay can be exciting and yet confusing and I simply want to help you make the right decision and have fun in the process.

Sales Taxes

Since I buy all my cars from a Dealership in New Jersey, by the law, I'll have to collect the 7% Sales Taxes, in case you decide to register the car in that state.

In that case, you don't have to pay the sales taxes at the DMV. You''ll have an stamp at the back of title saying sales taxes collected.

In case you need, an temporary tag can be issued for 20 days, for an extra of $150. Copy of insurance card and driver license will be required in advance.

Payment

If you are a winning bidder, kindly contact me via email immediately at the end of the auction for verification. Requirements are that the high bidder should pay an immediate deposit of $500 via PayPal upon completion of the auction and the car should be paid in full within 3 days via cashiers check, cash if in person or money order. The deposit can also be made over the phone via MasterCard or Visa; however, payment in full cannot be made with a credit card or PayPal unless prior authorization is made with me.  If payment of the car is not fulfilled within the specified time, the car will be offered for re-sale and feedback will be left accordingly. Let’s not waste each others time.

Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift

Fri, Feb 20 2015

The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.

Ford Mustang Mach-E fails Sweden's moose test

Wed, Sep 29 2021

The infamous moose test has claimed another casualty. This time it's the Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Long Range, which was tested in an electric four-way alongside the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq iV (an electric utility vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen ID.4 that is sold in the United States). According to the Swedish testers at Teknikens Varld, Ford's electric car not only failed to hit the speed necessary for a passing grade, it didn't perform well at slower speeds, either. To pass the outlet's moose test, a car has to complete a rapid left-right-straight S-shaped pattern marked by cones at a speed of at least 72 km/h (44.7 miles per hour). The test is designed to mimic the type of avoidance maneuver a driver would have to take in order to avoid hitting something that wandered into the road, which in Sweden may be a moose but could just as easily be a deer or some other member of the animal kingdom elsewhere in the world, or possibly a child or car backing into the motorway. Not only is the maneuver very aggressive, it's also performed with weights belted into each seat and more weight added to the cargo area to hit the vehicle's maximum allowable carrying capacity. The Mustang Mach-E only managed to complete the moose test at 68 km/h (42.3 mph), well below the passing-grade threshold. Even at much lower speeds, Teknikens Varld says the Mach-E (which boasts the highest carrying capacity and was therefore loaded with more weight than the rest of the vehicles tested in this quartet) is "too soft in the chassis" and suffers from "too slow steering." Proving that it is indeed possible to pass the test, the Hyundai and Skoda completed the maneuver at the 44.7-mph figure required for a passing grade and the Tesla did it at 46.6 mph, albeit with less weight in the cargo area. It's not clear whether other versions of the Mustang Mach-E would pass the test. It's also unknown if Ford will make any changes to its chassis tuning or electronic stability control software, as some other automakers have done after a poor performance from Teknikens Varld, to improve its performance in the moose test. Former Porsche CEO Wiedeking indicted over VW takeover bid

Thu, 20 Dec 2012

Do you recall the failed efforts by Porsche to take over Volkswagen? According to a Bloomberg report, former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above) and ex-CFO Holger Haerter have finally been charged with market manipulation over the exercising of options as part of the German sportscar manufacturer's ill-fated attempt to take over the much larger VW. That failed bid eventually resulted in the reverse coming true - VW swallowing Porsche.
The charges leveled by Stuttgart prosecutors come after a three-year investigation centered around allegations that Porsche execs made a concerted effort to increase the company's share in VW to 75 percent in preparation for a hostile takeover. Porsche had previously told its investors on at least five occasions that it had no intention to buy VW.
Portions of the investigation have subsided, according to prosecutors, citing an inability to prove certain improprieties with a "necessary degree of certainty." The number of charges is down to 5 from a previous 14 counts regarding "information-based market manipulation."
