This is a nice One Owner car that was traded in at local honda dealer. It has a perfect carfax with all services documented, and dealer recommended maintenance performed as you can see if you click the auto check tab above, fresh brakes and calipers 8k ago, and last month i had a dealer transmission line installed as well at a cost of about $350. If the records aren't on autocheck i can send you the carfax as well. The headlights can be cleaned as soon as it is warm enough out so the solution does not freeze, and they will look brand new. There is a couple dings on right rear quarter as pictured, couple little scratches but overall a very nice car. Interior is non smoker and in great shape, cd, heated seats, power windows and locks.
It has a ticking on the top of the motor, and the oil light comes on and off. Not enough oil is getting to the valves, bottom end is solid. Apparently this is common on the 1.8T and is usually the oil pump or sending unit tube.
Car runs, drives great down the road (before noticed ticking), comes with 2 original keys and cleans up very well .
This is being sold under a NY dealership so will need to be booked to a non NY resident as we cannot sell a car that is not roadworthy to someone in NY, unless you are a dealer as well ! Either situation there is no tax or other fees collected, and should be trailered home to be safe. Car was on the lot for $4,995 when a customer pointed out the ticking sound, selling on here at a loss to recoup what we can. Get a great deal with a little bit of work.
Payment by wire, cash, bank check, and can help arrange shipping if need be. Deposit within 24hrs of $500 by paypal, balance on pickup or before car is shipped.
Any questions feel free to ask, and i'll do my best, thanks !

Happy 60th to the VW Karmann Ghia
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Volkswagen's product portfolio may be as extensive these days as any other carmaker in the business. But if you still think of the original Beetle as synonymous with the brand, that's probably because a) you're old and b) the Beetle was the company's only product until the mid-50s.
Sixty years ago Wilhelm Karmann (founder of the eponymous coachbuilder) was in Paris for the auto salon and met up with Luigi Segre and his team from Carrozzeria Ghia who showed him what was essentially a "Beetle in a sports coat." A month later they showed it to Volkswagen chief Heinrich Nordhoff who, setting aside his conservative tastes, approved it for production. And so the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia was born, giving the German marque a second product line. It still used Beetle mechanicals and was built at the same Karmann factory in Onsabrück that was already assembling the Beetle Cabriolet.
It took another couple of years to put the design into production, but from 1955 to 1974, Volkswagen and Karmann built 362,601 coupes and 80,881 of the subsequent convertible that arrived in 1957. Today the Onsabrück factory is part of the VW Group, handling production of the Golf Cabriolet, XL1 and Porsche Boxster and Cayman, and with that original Karmann Ghia prototype as part of its factory collection.
2014 Volkswagen XL1 [w/video]
Mon, 11 Mar 2013World's Most Efficient Car Impresses, Not Without Compromises
Among our many duties at the recent Geneva Motor Show, we were offered a pretty exclusive drive in the new Volkswagen XL1 hyper-efficient plug-in diesel hybrid. There is so much that is interesting about a car like this reaching production from a major automaker that it's tough to know where to begin.
First off, you should know that - at least for this generation - there is absolutely no chance in Albuquerque that this "1-liter vehicle" (i.e. a vehicle that can burn just one liter of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 62.1 miles) will ever make it into the hands of North American customers. We, too, were having trouble imagining an XL1 in typical American traffic, surrounded by comparatively massive pickups and SUVs. The driving experience had us recalling a couple of weeks in 1999 when we drove the then-revolutionary Honda Insight hybrid on US roads. We keenly remember the feeling of being very small and vulnerable, even as we felt proudly green in our 61-mpg Tochigi pod. Thing is, the Volkswagen is smaller still, and nearly as light despite its more complex drivetrain and safety features.
