This is a 2002 Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8T 183,430 actual miles on it. Nice mid-size car. It is in nice condition. It has all leather seats, Front two seats are heated and they work. It has a moon roof/sun roof as well which is electric and works.
It has a Monsoon Factory radio in it which is tape and cd both and they both work.
This car has Two NEW front tires. The back tires will need to be replaced in short time, maybe 8-10,000 miles longer. I just simply replace them two at a time. This car is Front wheel drive not all wheel drive.
Power locks and windows. They all work and function completely EXCEPT the Driver's door. The motor runs but needs a new regulator which new is approx. $100.00.
It gets excellent gas mileage. Since we have had it and driven it I have not gotten any under 28mpg. that has been in town and highway miles. I drive 30miles one way to work everyday. It is a 4cylnder turbo charged 1.8T engine which is automatic or has the ability to be shifted manually which I think they call it Triptontic. It does shift hard out of 3rd gear sometimes. Not all the time which I have been told is a common issue with these cars. I have not had any trouble with Sludge issues. Just the glitch from time to time out of third and if you manually shift it, it is smoother but still does it some. I did recently have the ignition coil replaced which has made an improvement with the car's idle and running. It has some minor leaks as it does have 183430 miles on it but it runs good and does not burn oil.
The timing belt is fairly new. Good solid condition no cracks.
The rear defrost works. The two mirrors are electric motion however I think a fuse is out possibly because they do not move. The car comes with a like new owners manual which has proven to be helpful. It has a small missing chrome piece on the passenger side of the trim.
I would be glad to take any pictures that are not shown and post them. Just email or call me with ANY Questions.
The car also comes with the attachment to change the tires. It comes with a spare tire in the trunk.
The vehicle comes with one key which has the keyless entry for the power locks. Which works as well.
The car is being sold AS-IS. The asking price is negotiable. I am willing to bend a little on the asking price.
Thank you for looking.

VW Group to split brands under four holding companies
Tue, Jun 16 2015The Volkswagen Group is planning a tremendous shift in its internal structure that will decentralize operations by splitting its 12 brands into four different holding companies. Here's the breakdown. Things will be split logically, considering the inter-sharing of parts, platforms, and engines. The Volkswagen brand, Seat, and Skoda make up a passenger vehicle division led by former BMW man Herbert Diess. Audi, which is tightly intertwined with Lamborghini and motorcycle manufacturer Ducati, will be managed by current Audi exec Rupert Stadler. Porsche and Bentley, which are already quite close, will be joined by Bugatti and run by Matthias Mueller. Finally, a commercial vehicles division will include Volkswagen Commercial, Scania, and Man. Former Daimler exec Andreas Renschler will take care of the big vehicles. The massive move, according to Automotive News Europe, is part of an internal VAG effort to move away from the structure established by ousted Chairman Ferdinand Piech, who favored a compact, but highly centralized, management structure to oversee the independent actions of the company's brands. Criticism of Piech's arrangement stemmed from the company's slow responses to changes in the market, ANE reports. The new structure should make for a more efficient, streamlined company that's better able to make crucial decisions. What are your thoughts? Should VAG decentralize, or did Piech have the right idea? Have your say in Comments.
VW internal investigation finds 'no evidence' against suspended engineers
Tue, Oct 6 2015Volkswagen is still working out the chain of events that led to emissions-evading software being installed in 11 million diesel vehicles worldwide and deciding who was responsible for the treachery. So far, the German automotive giant's internal investigation hasn't publicly named many suspects, and three suspended executive-level engineers have been found not to be culpable in the wrongdoing, according to an anonymous insider speaking to Reuters. VW knows that the software began being installed in the EA 189 engine in 2008. The internal investigation has found that the emissions-evading tech was created because the powerplant was found to fail US standards. Plus, the diesel mill wasn't meeting cost targets, according to Reuters. The automaker responded by suspending over 10 employees, but three top engineers among them might not have been involved. Those put on leave include Heinz-Jakob Neusser from VW, Ulrich Hackenberg from Audi, and Wolfgang Hatz who led Porsche's research and group-wide engine development. The internal detective work hasn't turned up any evidence against these three men. In addition to VW's own inquires, government investigators in both the US and Germany are taking a serious look into the company's actions, too. So far, the automaker is setting aside about $7.3 billion to pay to fix the vehicles with the evasive software. Depending on what authorities find, the costs could grow quickly. Beyond the financial implications, the scandal has led to a serious shakeup in VW's corporate structure. Related Video:
Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise
Thu, Jan 10 2019Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative.
