I looked for a worthy example like this one for 2 years, have to travel and need to generate revenue. It has a freshly installed 1974 engine, tested at 120-125 lbs. per cylinder. It's very fast, very good on gas, good handling, nobly made (hand cut and bent and welded panels in Germany, when people were being paid decent wages and were proud to do good work.) Road and track said it handles as well if not better than a Porsche speedster. Parts are plentiful and cheap. If you don't hassle me i'll throw in a period Grundig stereo (am-fm + ipod adapter) you install. Car is straight, clean, almost entirely rust-free, tight, new shocks up front (KYB), good brakes, starts immediately, etc. Clear title, smog-exempt in California. Will cooperate with shipper only through Wednesday, car is only for sale over the week-end, obviously i'm not dying to part with it, so you snooze, you lose!

VW Golf GTI wrung out by Chris Harris
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Enthusiasts like nothing more than to crucify modern interpretations of their favorite performance models for failing to live up to some imagined ethos. Even the Volkswagen GTI has suffered its fair share of slings and arrows for growing in size and curb weight. Chris Harris recently spent some time with the all-new MK VII GTI to find out if growing up means giving up on what makes the machine so special.
Judging by his comments, Harris certainly doesn't think so. Yes, the new GTI is considerably more comfortable than its predecessors, but that's hardly a bad thing. The multitude of driving modes actually seem to add depth to the car rather than simply try to force one tool to do many jobs, and Harris even finds the machine's electronic power steering tolerable. As a result, Harris goes so far as to call the Volkswagen GTI "one of the best cars to actually own." How's that for high praise? You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
Translogic 164: Driving the fuel cell vehicles of the 2014 LA Auto Show
Wed, Nov 26 2014The LA Auto Show is known for its environmentally friendly vehicle debuts. At last year's show, hydrogen fuel cell concepts from Honda and Toyota joined a lease-ready Hyundai Tucson FCEV to cast a green hue over the convention center. This year, automakers took us a step closer to a fuel cell future by offering drives of their hydrogen-electric hybrids. Translogic host Jonathon Buckley takes a ride in the Toyota Mirai, which is headed for production in 2016. He follows that with a spin in the Volkswagen Passat HyMotion and the Audi A7 Sportback h-tron quattro concept. Which of these fuel cell vehicles holds the most promise? Tune in to find out.
