Up for sale is my 1996 Jetta 2.0 ABA with about 150K on the clock. Runs great. PA inspection and emissions through 6/14. Clean PA title in hand. I am currently driving this daily so the miles will go up. Manual windows and mirrors, power sunroof, cd player with iPod cable. The car originally had an automatic transmission. previous owner performed the manual swap and used a Scirocco 16V trans with a short throw shifter, so 1-4 are pretty short gears and 5th is long.
Recent new parts:

There's a couple items that still need attention. I'm an honest person so I will not leave anything out that I am aware of. Trans does not always go into 1st right away when stopped. I always put it in 2nd and then it goes right into 1st. Not sure if the short shifter can be adjusted to fix it, but it doesn't bother me so I never looked into it. All other gears shift fine and do not pop out. Sunroof works but is a little finicky, I still use it everyday. Check engine light came on a week ago. Haven't had a chance to have it scanned but last time it came on was for the rear O2 sensor and I never addressed it. Needs exhaust, still there, just leaky. Speedometer intermittently drops to zero. It most likely needs a cluster but I wanted to leave the original one in with original miles for the sale. Please write with any questions.

VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt
Sun, 08 Sep 2013
Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
VW brands excluded from Wards 10 Best Engines for 2016
Tue, Oct 6 2015You definitely won't be seeing a powerplant from Volkswagen or Audi on the 2016 Ward's 10 Best Engines list. In a serious rebuke against them, WardsAuto is excluding all VW/Audi powertrains for at least this year after the German automakers' ongoing emissions regulations evasions. There's no guarantee of the companies returning for 2017, either. In a story on its website, WardsAuto executive editor Tom Murphy writes that the ban lasts "until we are convinced the culture of deceit has been purged, fines have been paid and regulators are satisfied." That could be a while, the way things are looking. The exclusion knocks three powertrains out of the running for this year's list. As a winner last year, WardsAuto would usually test VW's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder again for 2016. Plus, it planned to check out the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the Audi A6 and the plug-in hybrid from the A3 Sportback E-Tron. In the story, Murphy finds VW's actions particularly despicable because of what they could be doing to the popularity of diesel passenger cars in this country. "BMW, Mercedes-Benz, General Motors, and Fiat Chrysler also sell light-duty diesel engines in the US, but their sales outlook suddenly has grown murky, thanks to VW's shenanigans," he writes. So far, Jaguar Land Rover is remaining confident of US consumers continuing to buy diesel models, though. We'll be able to see the real effects of VW and Audi's ban in a few months because the 2016 Ward's 10 Best Engines will be published December 10. With two major automakers out of the running, their rivals will likely greet this as a better chance to make the grade.
