Hello and thank you for looking at my auction.

Up for sale today is a very clean 2000 VW Jetta GLS Sedan.  This Jetta is in great condition and has just PASSED MARYLAND INSPECTION.  As you can see, this is a nice vehicle.  It is finished in  Dark Blue and the paint on this Jetta looks good.  Of course being a 13 year old vehicle there are blemishes and small dings.  Also the paint has faded some on the rear bumper but the car looks great overall.  All of the body lines are smooth and even.  All of the glass and lenses are intact.  The wheels show very well and are wrapped in a set of tires with well over 75% tread remaining.  Please take your time and review each of the photos carefully.

The interior of this Jetta is in very good condition.  The Tan interior compliments well with the Dark Blue exterior and shows well.  The dash is clean and has no faded spots or excessive wear.  The carpets show well throughout the interior.  The door panels are clean and intact.  The power windows, locks and mirrors all work properly.  The air condition was just serviced and works well and the radio and speakers also work well. The seats are clean and comfortable and the trunk is also clean and well kept.

Mechanically this Jetta is in great running and driving condition.  The engine starts easy and runs smooth.  There are no leaks and the engine does not smoke.  The suspension is nice and tight as it should be.  The steering feels neutral and responsive.  The brakes are strong and stop this Jetta with no problems.  The Brake pad warning light is lit on the dash but my mechanic says it has over 1/3 pad left (sometimes the sensor gets bent a little and causes the light to come on way before the brakes need to be changed).  The engine keeps proper temperature and oil pressure at all times.  There is a airbag warning light on which is common on VW's due to their complex airbag system setting it off even when seats are adjusted sometimes, but this does not affect drivability and the car passed MD inspection with it on.  This Jetta drives down the road confidently and feels solid.  The engine makes good power.  The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts as it should.  Out on the highway this Jetta cruises effortlessly.  She goes straight down the road with no complaints and can be driven with ease.  Pride in ownership shows throughout this vehicle.  Please take the time to read this entire description.  This vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability.  Car can be viewed anytime, just send me a message to set up appointment.

This vehicle had a new battery and a few lights changed to pass inspection and also had A/C serviced.

Buying a vehicle over the internet can be scary so I take many actions to make you feel secure with your purchase:

1. I take the time/effort and spend the money to get my vehicles through Maryland safety inspection. Maryland has one of the toughest safety inspections in the country so if a vehicle passes Maryland safety inspection "I believe" it will pass any states safety inspection.

2. I give a very detailed report of the vehicle Interior / Exterior / Mechanical condition. I have a mechanical background, "but I am not a car mechanic". I have been buying and selling cars for over 25 years so I know a lot about cars. I am as honest and accurate as possible about vehicles that I sell. You can always ask me questions about vehicles that I am selling or arrange to come see the vehicle before bidding.

3. I upload over 20 pictures of every vehicle and will try my best to send you any specific pictures that you ask for.

BEWARE OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT INSPECTED!!! Many people think they are getting a great deal on vehicles they buy on EBay for inexpensive prices only to find out when they take it through inspection that it needs thousands of dollars worth of work. I usually spend over a thousand dollars and put in hours of work on each vehicle to get it ready to pass Maryland inspection.

My vehicles are also for sale locally and auction may be ended early in accordance with Ebay policies.

A $149 DEALER DOCUMENT FEE WILL BE CHARGED ON ALL SALES (INCLUDING BEST OFFERS) AND INCLUDES A TEMPORARY TAG IF NEEDED (proof of insurance and all information for title/registration is needed 24 hours before temporary tag can be issued).

A non-refundable deposit of $250 is required within 24 hours of auction close.  Remaining balance is required within 7 days of auction close by Cash in Person or Certified Bank Funds (PayPal will not be accepted for balance).  Title and vehicle will not be released until ALL funds have cleared.  Buyer must contact seller to make arrangements for vehicle pick-up within 48 hours of auction close and pick-up vehicle within 7 days.  Vehicles not picked up within 7 days will be charged a $10/day storage charge unless prior arrangements have been made.

Thanks for looking and good luck biding.

2015 Volkswagen Golf R [w/video]

Mon, Nov 24 2014

Volkswagen hired a photographer to come shoot the handful of journalists that it brought to drive the 2015 Golf R at Buttonwillow Raceway north of Los Angeles. This fact, though unremarkable in and of itself, was something I hadn't noticed until I was well into my track time – probably ten laps deep on a day that would see me run twice that number. In any event, I noticed the intrepid shooter as he was sprinting from one side of the track to the other somewhere before Turn 2, while I was barreling down the main straightaway, still looking through Turn 1. In the roughly two-mile configuration of the track that I drove, Buttonwillow is a big, wide-open circuit, largely flat and with excellent overall visibility. On that layout, and just hours into my Golf R experience, I'd already become confident in endeavoring to push the limits of VW's latest blistering hatch. In fact, the easy nature of driving the thing quickly had me overestimating my pace. So when I saw the photog sprint across the tarmac I instinctively slowed way too much, way too early for Turn 1. Looking back at the incident after I'd pitted for the session, I laughed at myself, knowing I'd have had to be driving almost double my actual speed to put the camera guy in any real danger of being hit. But the experience crystallized what my full test of the R bore out: this is a car that makes you feel much faster than you otherwise would, at least in a competition setting. The 2015 Golf R is an uber hatch that will flatter those hyper-enthusiasts passionate enough to splash out on its steep price tag, but without threatening sales of core models like the GTI and its ilk. That's a good thing for the VW fanboys, to be sure, and, I'd argue, a great thing for the strength of the German brand overall. {C} The R felt both placid and comfortable while I clicked off highway miles in search of the racetrack. My test in California had at least two things in common with the First Drive feature that Steve Ewing brought us with the Golf R in Sweden. First, we both drove European specification cars (though mine didn't suffer from the same sticker abuse that Steve's did). Second, we were both somewhat limited in terms of driving the car in varied, real-world situations. My street route consisted almost entirely of tracking California's I-5 north out of Los Angeles; which any Angelino will tell you is a less-than-riveting mode of travel.

Volkswagen hatches hotter GTI in Geneva

Tue, 05 Mar 2013

The all-new seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf hasn't even launched here in the United States, but over in Geneva, we're already getting our first glimpse at the hotter GTI hatchback. The fancy new Mk VII Golf is already off to a healthy start with positive reviews in Europe, and we have no doubt that this next GTI will work hard to regain its title as king of the hot hatches.
The big news for this generation of GTI is that for the first time ever, Volkswagen is actually offering two different power grades for the model, both relying on the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four. Standard cars pack 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, but an optional performance pack ups the horsepower number to 230. Hitting 60 miles per hour takes 6.5 seconds (6.4 with the performance pack) and top speed is quoted at 153 mph (or 155 with the performance kit). Volkswagen will continue to offer the GTI with both six-speed manual and dual-clutch transmissions.
On the visual front, the sub-3,000-pound GTI adds the usual bit of hot hatch aggression over the standard Golf, and those changes carry over to the interior with a flat-bottomed wheel and, of course, plaid seats. She's certainly a looker, and while some of us do find the new Golf's design to be a bit staid and evolutionary, the enhancements for the GTI indeed tug on our enthusiast heart strings.

Here are 12 electric pickups in the works

Wed, Oct 21 2020

With the unveiling of the GMC Hummer EV, the list of planned electric pickups is expanding. Legacy automakers like Ford and Chevy have theirs coming, as do startups like Tesla, Rivian and Bollinger, as well as some lesser known brands. Here are all the electric pickup trucks we know to be in the works, along with a few that are being discussed or mulled over. GMC Hummer EV The 2022 GMC HUMMER EV is a first-of-its kind supertruck develop View 40 Photos We’ve seen it now, and itÂ’s the business. The GMC Hummer EV comes out swinging with 1,000 horsepower from GMÂ’s new Ultium electric powertrain program, a wealth of off-road features, a removable roof, Super Cruise and the revival of the Hummer name. WeÂ’ll see the first ones on the road next fall. Tesla Cybertruck Tesla Cybertruck at the Petersen Museum View 14 Photos Tesla revealed the Cybertruck last year with, ahem, unique styling, a number of powertrain options and a claimed range of up to 500 miles. It has a compressed paper dash, a ramp for the bed, and “shatterproof” windows. It has already racked up hundreds of thousands of reservations. It will be built in Texas. Rivian R1T 2021 Rivian R1T View 15 Photos EV startup Rivian revealed its R1T electric pickup toward the end of 2018 with a claimed 0-60 time of 3 seconds and a towing capability of 11,000 pounds. Preproduction began in September 2020 at RivianÂ’s factory in Normal, Illinois. Bollinger Motors B2 Bollinger Motors B2 side outdoors View 31 Photos BollingerÂ’s B2 electric pickup is a Class 3 off-roader with retro styling, removable roof panels, and a unique “frunkgate” with a pass-through down the center of the vehicle. It was created with both enthusiasts and workers in mind, with features that can get it to remote places (portal axles, hydro-pneumatic suspension) and to get things done (room for 40 2x4s, equipped with eight 110-volt outlets and one 220-volt outlet). Bollinger also plans to make the B2 Chassis Cab available for fleet customization. Ford F-150 Electric Electric Ford F-150 Towing View 9 Photos WeÂ’ve known this to be in the works since early 2019. Since then, details have trickled out. Back in June, Ford announced its F-150 Electric would be coming within two years. WeÂ’ve seen it pull a million pounds worth of train and trucks, heard it will have more power than any other F-150, and seen its LED-laden front end.
