Today you are looking a a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta SE that has been my daily driver for about a year now. This has been more than likely my favorite car to own up to this point, and it pains me to have to sell it. Unfortunately,I will be moving over seas next year for some missionary work and need to sell my vehicles.

This is the "SE" which stands for the Sport Edition of the 2012 VW Jetta. What that means to a normal human is that it has a little more Horsepower and Ft-Lbs of torque than the regular model. The 184HP makes it fast and fun to drive, while still providing a VERY smooth and comfortable ride as a daily driver. This model of Jetta has an independent rear suspension which adds to the comfort while giving it a sporty feel to drive; all of this is common to German/European made sports sedans (similar to BMW and Audi).

Other than how it drives, the vehicle is also equipped with lots of added equipment to aid in a comfortable ride. It comes with all the standard equipment which I wont bore you with (airbags, AM/FM, CD Player, AC, Power windows, etc...) but also includes things such as; Upgraded premium sound system which includes 4 Bose speakers and a 10" sub that are stock and prewired. Upgraded premium 17" wheels. Heated seats -Let me tell you what, those heated seats come in handy on a cold January morning when all you want to do is drive to work, but you feel like you are about to suffer hypothermia due to the temperature. Bluetooth radio which allows you to play music through the radio with no cords or anything to clutter up the console. Handsfree audio which lets you push a button on the steering wheel and make a request such as "Call mom," or "Text Taylor I'm running late!" The A/C blows cold as ice for this scorching summer heat we have right now (in Texas at least). It is also equipped with XM Satellite radio capability if you wanted to partake in that (which is super nice if you travel a lot). I do a mix of city and highway driving (65% highway and 35% city) and I have averaged 30.6 MPGs since I have owned the car. (Yes I keep a spreadsheet of my gas mileage, dont judge me). It gets about 28 in the city and 32-34 on the highway.

Mechanically this car is without a doubt as good as it gets. As far as problems mechanically, the biggest problem I have had is the fuse for the windshield sprayer went out and had to be replaced ($8 repair). I am the second owner of the car and when I purchased it we had a 144-point used car inspection done at the Volkswagen dealership in Dallas. They check all exterior and interior aspects of the car, from the transmission/engine and brakes all the way to the A/C and electrical system, and the car passed with flying colors. She is always quick to turn on and runs beautifully. I really love any opportunity I have to get out just because it is such a fun car to drive!

Preventive Maintenance: The car was under warranty for the first 3 years and was serviced every 6 months or 6,000 miles, which ever came first, but that just ended unfortunately a couple months ago. If needed I can acquire the paperwork from the dealership showing those services took place. Also, the current mileage is 36,XXX but is a daily driver so will go up a little. Past that, there have been many things done to it. The car recommends a Full Synthetic (0W-40) oil change every 12,000 miles, but I had one done every 8,000 to assure engine cleanliness and it also helps keep the gas mileage up. Last oil change was done 60 miles ago. Just FYI those cost $90 at the dealership, $60 most other places, and about $35 if you do them yourself. The car has never needed an alignment, but I felt more comfortable making sure so I took it in at 35,000 miles for an alignment and the shop made some minor adjustments but said she was in perfect shape. Obviously washed and cleaned regularly. The biggest thing that has been done thus far is the new set of tires that were put on it about 500 miles ago. The factory tires were not that great and the tread wore quickly. I could have gotten about 10,000 more miles out of them, but I did not feel like it was very good for the car, so I went ahead and got her some new shoes. The car has a brand new set of Michelin Defender tires (the best tire on the market for this size). The tires include a road hazard warranty from Discount Tire which covers anything that you could do wrong to them (potholes, curbs, nails, or literally anything that pops the tire). As well as free rotations, valve stems and balancing for the life of the tires. The biggest thing with them is that they have a 90,000 mile warranty, so if they run below 3/32" of tread before 90,000 you get a portion of the money back on them. The peace of mind with these tires made them worth the money ($697).

Title Issues: This is the part you have been waiting for. "Why is this great car so cheap?" I'm sure you have been asking yourself. Unfortunately, the car was in a bad hail storm before I purchased the car last year. It was left outside during a bad storm last winter somewhere in the Kansas I believe and it took quite a beating. The car has noticeable hail damage along the passenger side, hood, roof, and trunk. As an honest seller I'm not going to try and pawn it off as "just a small thing," because it is noticeable. The idiot who owned it before me decided to sell the car to the insurance agency and get a new one rather than just have it fixed, and for that reason they tattooed my baby with a rebuilt title (although it wasn't rebuilt so it should not have one). I have fought to have it changed but I haven't been able too. I bought the car with no intention of fixing the damage just because the car still looks great and drives like a dream. It is priced with plenty of room to get it fixed, but if you are looking for a great driving and still great looking car for an amazing price, well you have found your deal then. I have had estimates that ranged from $2500-$3500 on getting it fixed just depending on who you go to.

Summary: This car is a steal of a deal on the price, and is going to drive for another 100,000 miles without any mechanical problems. It has been cared for like a baby and treated like one behind the wheel. If you are a budget shopper looking to get the best deal for the money, this is a great car for you. Follow the link for a FULL gallery of pictures, I couldn't afford that many on here! Open to reasonable offers through the site and I would very much be interested in selling it in person as well. Please call my cell phone (Clint - 469-500-6305) if you have any more questions or would like to see it in person! Thanks for your time and have a blessed day!

P.S. Please disregard my seller rating, I had to create a new account and lost years of hard work due to identity theft. You can read my other ratings here: http://www.ebay.com/usr/ct2the3

US-spec 2015 Volkswagen Golf and GTI to finally debut in New York

Tue, 12 Mar 2013

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf is hardly new to us. In fact, we've already driven it. And elsewhere in the world, the new Golf is already winning awards. Even so, we still have yet to see the US-spec version of the car, though that won't be the case much longer. As part of the New York Auto Show festivities later this month, Volkswagen will finally show off the 2015 Golf models destined for our shores.
Three different versions of the Golf will debut under the lights of New York City's Javits Center: the turbocharged TSI, oil-sipping TDI and hotter GTI. The first model in that list uses Volkswagen's new 1.8-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, replacing the outgoing 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline five-cylinder. The latter two models use familiar engines: the 2.0-liter TDI diesel and 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, respectively.
Even though the new Golf officially debuts later this month, it won't go on sale in the US until the first quarter of 2014. We'll be waiting patiently.

Audi spending an additional $2.5 billion on expansion through 2019

Thu, Jan 1 2015

Every year, it seems the Volkswagen Group announces a new and larger spend to push growth and profit, with Audi a regular recipient of the moolah. That's reasonable, seeing as hauls in 40 percent of Group operating profits. In December last year Audi said it would spend an additional 100 million euros ($122M US) per year through 2018 to develop new models and expand production, targeting 60 models by 2020 and luxury sales leadership. This month Audi said it will boost that by another two billion euros ($2.5B US) over the next five years, for a total outlay of 24 billion euros from 2014 to 2019. Something like 70 percent of those billions will be spent on new models, technology like "connectivity and lightweight construction," and factory expansion at its plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm. Most of the ten models that will plump the lineup to 60 cars will mainly be aimed at the C and D segments, as well as crossovers, the brand's burgeoning portfolio of PHEV models, and all-electric cars that will begin staking ground in the segment. The big spend comes at the same time as Audi is working hard to reduce costs by $2.5 billion to maintain profitability, part of a larger push by VW to cut costs by $6.1 billion by 2017. More than a billion euros will go to new factories in Mexico and Brazil. Work begins on the Mexico plant next year, and when it comes on-line in 2016, Audi's Q5 successor will roll out of its warehouse doors; Audi has already announced it will hire 850 more workers next year in Mexico. When that's done, Mexico's production of German luxury cars will only trail that of Germany, China and the US. The company's Brazil plant will produce the A3 and S3 starting next year, and the brand figures luxury car buying there will triple by 2017. VW recalls 1.1M Jetta, Beetle models in US, China over suspension fears

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Volkswagen is recalling about 1.1 million vehicles in China and North America in a newly announced campaign affecting the rear suspensions on some models. For the US, the action covers about 442,265 vehicles, including 400,602 examples of its 2011-2013 Jetta and 41,663 units of the 2012-2013 Beetle and Beetle Convertible. According to Reuters, the recall affects a further 126,000 vehicles in Canada and about 581,090 in China, including related market-specific models like the Sagitar.
The problem can occur if the affected models have a collision to the rear or the side-rear of the vehicle. It's then possible for the trailing arms on the torsion-beam rear suspension to be damaged. If the harm isn't noticed, then the part could fracture while driving. Obviously, a broken rear suspension is going to have an adverse effect on handling.
To fix things, VW dealers will inspect the trailing arms on the models, and they will all receive a sheetmetal part that will make a distinctive sound if broken in the future. If already damaged, the entire torsion beam will be replaced. Obviously, this work will be done at no charge to owners.
