Hello folks,
NO RESERVE AUCTION!
Here is my Jetta for sale. When I bought the vehicle I needed the MPG for work, but I no longer need to drive much in my current position. I have seen 51 MPG on flat highways with the cruise control on doing 60mph over 100s of miles. WHO NEEDS A HYBRID?????
I dont care how fast you drive it you will see 40+mpg highway and about 33mpg around town. Incredible. The turbodiesel is pretty peppy too. The car is in excellent shape, no scratches, no dents, no anything to speak of. Everything works and for peace of mind the car has a 100,000 mile warranty that is good for another 4 or 5 years. (Id have to check) Why buy new when you can buy this one with over 30,000 miles left on the warranty? Even though the car has 67k miles, keep in mind it is a diesel and this car will go 300,000+ miles. There is no curb rash on any of the rims, the paint is still shiny, the tires are decent and it runs great. Not a hiccup since ive owned it. Feel free to run the vin with a volkswagon dealer. Keep in mind its still under warranty. It has the best, most comprehensive extended warranty Volkswagon offers. Peace of mind.
The interior, though maybe a tad dirty, is in excellent condition. No rips, no tears, no worn spots. The car is equipped with the touchscreen satellite radio, leather seats, and sunroof. The car includes rubber mats as well as carpet floor mats. It also has the trunk mat and organizer.
Again all the electronics work as they should. Zero issues. The car has served me well but as Ive said, I no longer need the 40+ mpg.
I still owe some money on the car and when it sells I will pay the loan off. Feel free to call and discuss any aspect of this car or the transaction.
Someone will be very happy with this car!

VW launches special edition Touareg X
Tue, 03 Dec 2013Volkswagen is no stranger to special editions, but its Touareg SUV has remained largely unspecial in terms of exclusive trims or unique packages. That's changed with the announcement of the Touareg X, a 1,000-unit run based on the V6 TDI Lux trim - mid-range diesel model, between the navigation-equipped TDI Sport and the TDI R-Line.
The already special Touareg gets 19-inch "Moab" wheels, LED taillights (to go along with its LED DRLs) and "Touareg X" badging, while all 1,000 units will be painted Moonlight Blue Pearl. Tweaks in the cabin are equally light, with a black-on-black-on-black color scheme dominating - black Vienna leather, a black headliner and piano black trim. Aluminum bits make an appearance in the form of the door sills and pedals, although that's about it.
Other than those few aesthetic tweaks, the Touareg X is equipped largely like the Touareg Lux on which it's based. That means navigation, a panoramic sunroof, power seats, LED running lights, dual-zone air conditioning and heated power seats, among other tech pieces. Pricing starts at $56,170, making for a slight bump of $1,195 over the standard Touareg Lux.
Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.
VW makes $9.2B offer for rest of truckmaker Scania
Sun, 23 Feb 2014Volkswagen owns or has controlling interests in three commercial truck operations: besides its own, VW began buying shares in Sweden's Scania in 2000 and now controls 89.2 percent of its shares and 62.6 percent of its capital, then bought into Germany's Man in 2006 - in order to prevent Man from trying to take over Scania - and now owns 75 percent of it. The car company has managed to work out 200 million euros in savings, but believes it can unlock a total of 650 million euros in savings if it takes outright control of Scania and can spread more common parts among the three divisions.
It has proposed a 6.7-billion-euro ($9.2 billion) buyout, but according to a Bloomberg report, Scania's minority investors don't appear inclined to the deal. Although effectively controlled by VW, Scania is an independently-listed Swedish company, and a profitable one at that: in the January-September 2013 period its operating profit was 9.4 percent compared to Man's 0.4 percent. Some of the other shareholders believe that Scania is better off on its own and will not approve the deal, some have asked an auditor to look into the potential conflict of interest between VW and Man, while some are willing to examine the deal and "make an evaluation based on what a long-term owner finds is good," which might not be just "the stock market price plus a few percent." The buyout will only be official assuming VW can reach the 90-percent share threshold that Swedish law mandates for a squeeze-out.
Many of the arguments against boil down to investors believing that Scania's Swedishness and unique offerings are what keep it profitable, and ownership by the German car company will kill that. (Have we heard that somewhere before?) If Volkswagen can buy that additional 0.8-percent share in Scania, perhaps its buyout wrangling with Man will give it an idea of what it's in for: "dozens" of minority investors in the German truckmaker have filed cases against VW, seeking higher prices for their shares. It is likely only to delay the inevitable, though. If VW is really going to compete with Daimler and Volvo in the truck market, it has to get the size, clout and savings to do so.
