For sale is a 2011 VW Jetta SportWagen 2.5 SE with Panoramic Sunroof
The vehicle has just over 49,000 miles and I am the second owner. The vehicle has the remainder of the VW 5 year/60,000 powertrain warranty left. The bumper to bumper warranty is expired. The vehicle has a clean CarFax history and I have a copy of the report for interested buyers. It has a 2.5L 5 cylinder engine and a 6 speed automatic transmission. It is metallic gray with black VTEX synthetic leather interior which is very easy to clean. Michelin tires are less than 1 year old and have most of the tread left. The panoramic moon roof extends most of the length of the car and has an automatic retractable screen cover. Overall the car is in excellent condition and has a few dings as one would expect from a 3+ year old vehicle. My average mpg since I have had the car is 27.6 mpg with mixed city and highway. It only requires regular unleaded gas as well. The car has had the following work done recently: -Full detail including clay bar, polish and wax -Oil and filter change with Motul full synthetic 5W-40 VW spec oil and VW filter -Texas legal window tint -Full set of VW monster mats (all weather floor mats) -ProClip cell phone mount (vehicle mount stays with car; just order the other half of the mount for your model of cell phone and you're ready to go.) The car has the following features: -Keyless Entry -Air Conditioning -Power Windows -Power Locks -Cruise Control -Dual Front, Side and Front and Rear Curtain Air Bags -Power Heated Seats -Panoramic Moon Roof -Alloy Wheels -Front Wheel Drive -Traction Control -Stability Control -4 wheel Antilock Brakes -Power Steering -Tilt and Telescoping Wheel -Multi Disc Stereo with Bluetooth, Satellite Radio and SD Card slot in dash -Daytime Running Lights The car is not currently being driven daily, so the mileage will not increase. I do have a loan on the car and will assist the buyer and their bank if necessary to get the car transferred to the buyers name. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions. Thank you. |

BMW names new CEO, chairman and head of development
Tue, Dec 9 2014Big changes are afoot in the top ranks at BMW, as the Bavarian automaker has announced not just one, but several appointments in the top floors of its towering headquarters in Munich in what the company itself is referring as "a generational change" in its leadership. The biggest change relates to the chairman of BMW's management board – German-speak for the company's chief executive officer. Effective at the end of the company's Annual General Meeting on May 13, 2015, the company will be run by Harald Kruger. The 49-year-old mechanical engineer has been with BMW since 1992 and has sat on its board since 2008, and has until now been responsible for production for the entire BMW Group. The chairmanship of the board of management currently belongs to Dr. Norbert Reithofer, whom the management is endorsing to chair the supervisory board (which Americans might call the board of directors). That role in turn is currently held by Professor Joachim Milberg, who will step down from his position in order to make way for Reithofer to take his place. Milberg is earmarked to remain with the company to oversee its corporate social responsibility and charitable activities. BMW has also announced the appointment of Klaus Frohlich to serve as its head of development with immediate effect. In his new capacity, Frohlich replaces Dr. Herbert Diess, who in turn has left Munich to take over the Volkswagen passenger car division. Below you'll find statements from both BMW and VW on their new appointments. BMW Group takes steps to initiate a generational change at the head of the Board of Management and Supervisory Board 09.12.2014 - Harald Kruger to become Chairman of the Board of Management in May 2015 - Dr. Norbert Reithofer proposed to succeed as Chairman of the Supervisory Board - Prof. Joachim Milberg to take leading role in the BMW Group's worldwide CSR activities and charitable foundations - Klaus Frohlich appointed to Board of Management with responsibility for Development Munich . At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of BMW AG took the first steps to initiate a generational change at the head of the company's Board of Management and Supervisory Board. Harald Kruger will become Chairman of the Board of Management effective the end of the Annual General Meeting on 13 May 2015. The current Chairman of the Board of Management, Dr. Norbert Reithofer, will be put forward for election to the Supervisory Board at the 2015 Annual General Meeting.
VW exec calls US ops a 'disaster'
Thu, 23 Jan 2014Today in the Tell Us How You Really Feel file we have Bernd Osterloh, head of Volkswagen AG's Group Works Councils and member of the company's supervisory board, labeling the company's US operations "a disaster." Why? Because Osterloh believes VW of America doesn't have the models it needs to be competitive here, hasn't been decisive enough about its plans and German higher-ups still don't understand the US market.
In truth, the top labor rep at the German conglomerate is echoing sentiments we've heard from VWoA executives for years, and there's been the same commentary from dealers: Germany doesn't pay enough attention to what the US market really wants. Even ex-VWoA CEO Stefan Jacoby, who preceded the recently departed Jonathan Browning, said early in his tenure that one of his tasks was to get his German bosses to start delivering what the US market demanded. New CEO Michael Horn is saying much the same thing seven years later, telling Sky News that it has to increase "the speed at which we bring new models to the market and innovation to the market."
Osterloh wants to get "more models" here, including a pickup truck, but we'd wonder if the economics have changed from when Jacoby said they'd need to sell 100,000 per year to make money. Osterloh also wants a decision on where the CrossBlue will be built. Although it looked as if the Chatanooga, TN plant would get the call, the Puebla, Mexico plant is still in the running because of lower operating costs. No matter what happens right now, Osterloh thinks the situation won't get better for another two years when revamped models arrive, but at least the company can start taking the steps for a better US future.
VW Golf GTI wrung out by Chris Harris
Thu, 27 Jun 2013Enthusiasts like nothing more than to crucify modern interpretations of their favorite performance models for failing to live up to some imagined ethos. Even the Volkswagen GTI has suffered its fair share of slings and arrows for growing in size and curb weight. Chris Harris recently spent some time with the all-new MK VII GTI to find out if growing up means giving up on what makes the machine so special.
Judging by his comments, Harris certainly doesn't think so. Yes, the new GTI is considerably more comfortable than its predecessors, but that's hardly a bad thing. The multitude of driving modes actually seem to add depth to the car rather than simply try to force one tool to do many jobs, and Harris even finds the machine's electronic power steering tolerable. As a result, Harris goes so far as to call the Volkswagen GTI "one of the best cars to actually own." How's that for high praise? You can watch the video for yourself by scrolling below.
