2010 Volkswagen Jetta Sportwagon Manual Rare!! on 2040-cars
Kalamazoo, Michigan, United States
Hello! Up for sale I have a 2010 VW Jetta Sportwagen equipped with a highly desired, but rare MANUAL transmission. Over the time that I have owned this tremendous new technology clean diesel, I have achieved consistently 650 miles to its 14 gallon tank. (650/14=46.4mpg) the best I have achieved is 52mpg. I drive highway and city. I am only the second owner of this vehicle and have loved driving it on long road trips or just down the road. The manual transmission goes in and out of gear effortlessly, the 4 cylinder TDI motor starts up and runs as quiet as a Gas, and the turbo (which was just replaced brand new) helps get this car up to speed like no other diesel you have ever driven (unless of course you have driven a 2010-2013 VW TDI).
Mechanically: this car is mechanically sound. Always serviced at the VW dealer from day one, including the most recent Timing Belt, water pump, tensioner and serpentine belt replacement at 212k. This car starts up effortlessly. steering and suspension are unrivaled in comparison to other wagons. add in your 50+mpg highway combined with the 40mpg city and you have one of the nicest most economical wagons on the road. Only 507.00 VW approved oils have been used in the motor. The things that will need to be replaced soon: front rotors are coming up due for a change. The AC has worked on and off over the last hot season. I ended up buying a brand new VW AC compressor to install, but didnt get around to it. The new Compressor will be included with this purchase. The car drives straight but could use a slight adjustment/alignment (depending how picky you are). Everything other than mentioned works PEFECTLY!! The interior is IMMACULATE. solid 10/10. Both driver and passenger sides have very comfortable, electronic heated seats that heat up faster than your motor on the cold days. The original owner was in advertising. He drove this car across country and back day after day, leaving ZERO wear on the passenger and rear seats and putting 95% all HIGHWAY miles on the tach. The driver seat is also just as nice as the rest of the car even with the mileage driven in the seat. The trunk/hatch still has the organizers in the packaging from the dealer!! Factory Allweather floormats will come with this car, only accenting the already beautiful interior. In dash 6 DISC cd changer, wireless bluetooth, am/fm/sat. There is even an option to input SD cards. I absolutely love the wireless bluetooth connectivity. play your own music talk hands free to friends/family/clients all through the interior radio/speakers from your phone. another great option is all windows go up or down automatically with the push of a button. Everything in the interior is 100% perfect just as the day it rolled off the dealer lot. Exterior is mostly good. The red exterior shines beautifully. The wheels are in great shape, tires have roughly 60-70% tread left. They are SNOW tires. ESP equipped with snow tires will keep this car driving straight as an arrow all winter long! (if you dont know what ESP is, please youtube it, it is the single greatest thing to be installed in new cars). Now the bad (and reason for the low price): I was rear ended at a whopping 5 mph. the damage put a dent in the rear hatch and broke the rear tail light. The damage was not very bad, nor extensive as seen in the pictures. As is the car is completely legal as all lights are working fine and the hatch opens and shuts completely fine. I am going back to school. To finance my MSA I must unfortunately sell this car. I strongly urge you to come drive the car. see it and drive it for yourself to see how amazing this car really is. Any questions are encouraged. feel free to email me and or call me at 419-345-1732 |

$1.4B hedge fund suit against Porsche dismissed
Wed, 19 Mar 2014Investors have canvassed courts in Europe and the US to repeatedly sue Porsche over its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen in 2008 (see here, and here and here), and they have repeatedly failed to win any cases. You can add another big loss to the tally, with Bloomberg reporting that the Stuttgart Regional Court has dismissed a 1.4-billion euro ($1.95B US) lawsuit, the decision explained by the court's assertion that the investors would have lost on their short bets even if Porsche hadn't misled them.
Examining the hedge funds' motives for stock purchases and the bets that VW share prices would fall, judge Carola Wittig said that the funds didn't base their decisions on the key bits of "misinformation," and instead were participating simply in "highly speculative and naked short selling," only to get caught out.
With other cases still pending, the continued streak of victories bodes well for Porsche's courtroom fortunes, since judges will expect new information to consider overturning precedent. If there is any new info, it could come from the potential criminal cases still outstanding against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking and CFO Holger Härter, who were both indicted on charges of market manipulation.
Volkswagen Golf R Variant ready to haul ass, stuff
Thu, Nov 20 2014Volkswagen seems to be playing a cruel trick on the American automotive public at the Los Angeles Auto Show. It's displaying its sexy Golf R Variant with no clear intention of actually selling the model here. The hot wagon launches in Europe in the spring, but the automaker makes absolutely no mention of the model's prospects in the US. Hopefully, its appearance in LA at least indicates VW is considering bringing it stateside. The great thing about this wagon is that it has everything that the regular Golf R offers, but there's even more room to carry stuff. The same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 296 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox and 4Motion all-wheel drive. Performance is very close, too, with the Variant R taking 5.1 seconds to get to 62 miles per hour versus the 4.9 seconds the standard R needs to read 60 mph. The two of them also have the same tech goodies like ESC Sport stability control and multiple damping modes. The real advantage to opting for the estate is its ability to carry up to 57.2 cubic feet of cargo in the back. This hot rod wagon would seem to be perfect for the family that needs to haul some extra junk in the trunk, but doesn't want to sacrifice performance. Whether the Variant R makes it to the US remains a mystery, though. Scroll down to read the specs and feel a twinge of jealousy.
Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?
Tue, Jun 30 2015After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
