This is going to be a great deal for someone, maybe you! This 2010 Jetta TDI diesel was stolen and recovered, but not before the previous owner was paid off. So we buy these ( NON COLLISION ) cars from the insurance company, repair whats needed then sell them retail. In this case, the car was NOT wrecked, the bad guys stole the seats, door panels, navigation and stereo. I bought another ( badly wrecked ) 2010 Jetta to harvest parts to complete this car. That other car got sold off back at the auction when I was through taking the parts I needed. The first 6 photos are of the car finished..the other photos with the insurance header at the bottom are as the car was sold to me from the insurance company- notice NO body damage! So now this car is all back together..and runs great. Remember, it was not wrecked..see the photos AS I BOUGHT IT with no collision damage. I did have to send the car back to the dealer after replacing the seats to reset the airbag light ( it came on when it sensed the seats were not there along with their internal air bags ). So now there are NO lights on, drives great, needs nothing..battery is good, starts right up and drives great. OK, so what's NOT perfect on this car? The driver's door lock was damaged when they stole the car, so I took the lock from the parts car..so right now it has two keys ( w 2 remotes ) one that unlocks the door and one that starts the car. The door lock comes out easily and car be reconfigured to use the ignition key, but that has to be done by a locksmith. There is a bit of damage and two small scratches at the lock on the divers door, looks like they slipped a bit wkith some sort of tool while puching the lock and mildly scratched the paint clearcoat, not down to the metal, could be touched up with touchup paint. The RR door does not open from the inside latch, opens fine from outside but perhaps the handle is broken, etc. The tires are fair, not new.Otherwise, no damage. There is no spare tire or jack, I was going to take those from the "parts" car but someone stole them from the car before i got it. So you will need to obtain a spare and tools. That's about it..It does have a salvage title since the prior owner was paid for a "total loss" since the car was missing..check with your local DMV on registration requirements in your area. Its no problem in CA and we will do the reg free ( no doc fee ) for you. Questions? Call me! Stu Foster 619-315-8428 Plus I can help with shipping if needed..thx!

Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise
Thu, Jan 10 2019Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative. J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners
Mon, 14 Apr 2014Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
You can find details on those and more findings in the press release below.
Volkswagen Group's Vision 2030 strategy could bring revolution to the brands
Sat, May 11 2019One would expect a corporate plan called "Vision 2030," looking 11 years ahead through wildly tumultuous times, to involve great change and numerous forks in numerous roads. According to Automobile's breakdown of Volkswagen's path forward, though, the plans contain some lurid potential surprises. The ultimate aim is return on investment, and that means ruthless reorganization of a conglomerate with eight primary car brands, two car sub-brands, and Ducati motorcycles. The first two Vision 2030 cornerstones Automobile mentions are near boilerplate: Production network restructuring, and "streamlining of key technologies." The latter two are the ones that could upend what we know as the Volkswagen Group: focusing on the Group's core brands — meaning Audi, Porsche, and VW — and transitioning to EVs, autonomy, and other mobility solutions. Based on the report, a quote from Audi's CTO referring to the Audi brand could cover how the Group plans to handle all of its brands: "We need to find a sustainable solution for the indefinite transition period until EVs eventually take over." The boutique divisions adjacent to carmaking, Ducati and Italdesign, look likely to be spun off. For the halo car brands — Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini — apparently shareholders want double-digit returns on investment, and the trio doesn't have long to hit the target. One eyebrow raiser is when the report states, "Bugatti is tipped to be gifted to [ex-VW Group Chairman] Ferdinand Piech." Piech fathered the Veyron during his tenure at VW, and it was thought he commissioned the La Voiture Noire, but he's lately stepped so far back from VW that he sold all his shares in the Group. Automobile quoted a senior strategist as saying of money-losing Bentley, "Why invest on a backward-looking enterprise when you can support a trendsetter? A proud history and excellent craftmanship alone don't cut it anymore." We guess no one at Ferrari, McLaren, or even Porsche got that memo. Bentley is reportedly close to being put in time out, and if brand CEO Adrian Hallmark can't right the Crewe ship, the hush-hush Plan B is to prop the Flying B up enough to lure a buyer. As for Lamborghini, caught between two masters at Audi and Porsche, even record-breaking numbers at the Italian supercar maker barely staved off sacrilege. It's said that VW brand CEO Herbert Diess considered putting a 5.0-liter Porsche V8 into the Aventador successor.
