2009 Volkswagen Jetta Tdi 6 Speed Manual Sporty & Economical on 2040-cars
Buckeye, Arizona, United States
You're looking at a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Diesel 2.0 Liter Engine (This is the European Model) the new Jettas are no longer made with some of the features that were available in these European Models). This well-maintained, always garaged, 6-speed Manual Transmission for those of you that enjoy either shifting, having control of your car, or lower transmission maintenance, and/or better fuel mileage, has a long life ahead as most diesel engines do.
The European Version of this vehicle has the upward dash-mounted air conditioning vent for those of you who don't like to have the a/c directed toward your body. This blows the a/c toward the windshield instead. This model is equipped with an A/C (house 110 volts) outlet behind the center arm rest, (see pics) right in the middle of the car. There is a cigarette lighter outlet plug in the trunk (should you want to use a plug-in of some sort, like an electric pump or lighting device). The vehicle is fully automatic, with a moon-roof/sun-roof, and there are two (2) keyless remotes that come with this car as well as a valet key, that allows someone driving compartment and engine start, yet they can be kept out of the trunk and glove-compartment of the vehicle (if you carry a gun, but are not allowed in the restaurant with it, you can store it in your glove compartment and lock the vallet parking guy out of it.) This vehicle has a beautiful cream Leather Interior. Some of The options include: Premium Sound System, 6-Disk in-dash CD/MP3 Changer, AM/FM Stereo, XM-Sirius Satellite Radio, Auxiliary Input for your iPhone OR iPod, automatic rearview Power mirrors, Power door locks, automatic ALL Windows Down and Sunroof OPEN with key OR LOCK ALL and Close ALL with key. Lockable, glove compartment and middle console rear seats, and/or lockable rear seats, and trunk access From valet key. The Timing Belt has been replaced at 90,000 miles. All the service has been documented in a service journal. The intake manifold has been replaced last month. The Tires have at least 70% Tread left. Two tires are brand new. Alignment, Wheel Balance, and Tire rotation has been recently done. This vehicle gets anywhere from 38 mpg in the city to 45 mpg on the highway. I have written evidence when I drove it from Tonopah, AZ to Anaheim, CA and back to Tonopah, AZ on one full tank of fuel. I believe the average was around 45 mpg. I am a big fan of the Volkswagen vehicles. I believe them to be the ONLY vehicle that offers ALL THREE of the following: Comfort-Luxury, Performance, Fuel-Economy. Most of the other vehicles on the market, can only offer one or maybe two of these aspects. They either have fuel economy, but no performance, or performance but no fuel economy, or comfort-luxury but none of the other two or maybe one at best. I have grown into another VW vehicle (the Volkswagen Passat TDI) the same exceptional quality yet some set-backs in features available in this European version of this TDI Jetta, but needed to sacrifice for a slightly larger vehicle as our family is growing. I'm hoping this vehicle will go to a good home. It has treated me well and I wish I could afford to keep it. Thank you for your interest. The Best Offer takes the car. |

Porsche 911 with VW turbodiesel prepares for LeMons assault
Fri, 21 Mar 2014LeMons racing is a wonderful example that setting limits can actually breed creativity. The series mandates that all entries must cost $500, not counting safety equipment, and that cap forces teams to be ingenious in how they build a racecar. Take for example this diesel-powered Porsche 911, which its creators have dubbed Ferkel the Nein-11, that will be racing in the Sears Pointless race this weekend in Sonoma, California.
This Frankenstein combines a 911 chassis that was originally bought just for its European powertrain and a Volkswagen TDI diesel engine mounted in the rear. After deciding the shell could still be of some use, the team decided to go racing. "We began brainstorming what replacement drivetrain to use for maximum offense and there was really only one answer: a diesel," said Philipp von Weitershausen, one of the team captains, to Jalopnik. They bought a 1998 Jetta TDI on the cheap and started figuring out a way to hack the engine into the bay. To pay respect to the donor, the VW's trunk was highly modified (and drilled) and grafted onto the back of Ferkel.
This team isn't a newcomer to LeMons. Its last car was a classic VW Beetle with a Subaru engine and dual controls, named Ferdinand the Bug, which could be driven from the left or right side. It's quite a sight.
Former Porsche CEO Wiedeking indicted over VW takeover bid
Thu, 20 Dec 2012Do you recall the failed efforts by Porsche to take over Volkswagen? According to a Bloomberg report, former Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above) and ex-CFO Holger Haerter have finally been charged with market manipulation over the exercising of options as part of the German sportscar manufacturer's ill-fated attempt to take over the much larger VW. That failed bid eventually resulted in the reverse coming true - VW swallowing Porsche.
The charges leveled by Stuttgart prosecutors come after a three-year investigation centered around allegations that Porsche execs made a concerted effort to increase the company's share in VW to 75 percent in preparation for a hostile takeover. Porsche had previously told its investors on at least five occasions that it had no intention to buy VW.
Portions of the investigation have subsided, according to prosecutors, citing an inability to prove certain improprieties with a "necessary degree of certainty." The number of charges is down to 5 from a previous 14 counts regarding "information-based market manipulation."
Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish
Wed, 10 Jul 2013A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
