We are offering to one lucky bidder, this 2004 One Owner Volkswagen GLS Turbo Diesel Wagon that was just traded in on a new diesel! This car is in very nice shape, runs and drives great, and has an excellent Car Fax. The car has Michelin MXV4 tires that have a lot of tread left on them. The headliner is new. The Air conditioner has just been gone through, and has a new evaporator and receiver dryer. It blows ice cold as it should. The interior shows a normal amount of wear for it's age, but there are no rips or tears. The exterior paint is nice, but there are some minor scratches and dents. I believe the dents could be removed by one of those paintless dent repair guys, but they are so minor, you have to look to find them, and they don't really detract from the car's looks. Every thing functions as it should, and it is a very nice car! You won't find many of them out there with miles this low, as their owners love them so much, they seem to hang onto them and drive them forever! In fact, most Jetta TDI owners, when they do get rid of them, buy another one! I have set a very reasonable reserve on this car, so you may bid with confidence! Volkswagen Tiguan and Touareg take the R-Line

Volkswagen's Detroit Auto Show presence is big on utility this year, with the CrossBlue three-row concept vehicle occupying the lion's share of the limelight, both literally and figuratively. But that isn't stopping Volkswagen from lavishing attention on its already established crossover and sport utility vehicles with new R-Line derivatives. The Tiguan and its big brother Touareg are getting a host of look-faster items to increase their sporting appeal.
On the outside, the Tiguan R-Line receives handsome 19-inch alloys peering out from beneath fender extensions, premium lighting (bi-Xenon headlamps with LED daytime running lamps), along with matching side skirts and a liftgate spoiler. On the inside, sportier accommodations include aluminum trim and a flat-bottom steering wheel with paddle shifters. As with other R-Line models, there are no powertrain modifications to go with the more aggressive visuals (that being the province of R standalone performance models like the R32), though the suspension has been firmed up an unspecified amount. The Tiguan R-Line will be available in front- or all-wheel drive configuration.

Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program

You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing.
