PLEASE COMPARE LIKE CARS!!
1. This car has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!!
2. JETTA's last a very long time if you can maintain transmission (google it). Usually transmission tends to give out after 100k. Parts are expensive partly because it's a German-foreign car. This car has newly replaced transmission parts. All of the solenoids-7(a valve that controls fluid flow into and throughout an automatic transmission) has been replaced! In addition to that, transmission fluid has been replaced in this closed system (not typically drained unless they open up the transmission-since it's suppose to last for life of the car, but sometimes gives problems) and spark plugs have been replaced. We spent $1,200, because we were planning on keeping this for another 100k miles. We have receipts to show the money spent. My wife received another car as an unexpected gift on her recent trip to AZ from CA and we don't have a need for this car. Transmission work has been guaranteed by the mechanic for 75K miles.
We are non smokers. A/C is cold, the vehicle has always been garaged and runs in EXCELLENT condition! Looks and drives great, never been in snow. This is a perfect used/first car. CD player is a multi-disc changer (6). The vehicle has very clean interior and we have kept up with all scheduled maintenance and then some. Vehicle gives great mileage. We have records to prove most of the work. Bridgestone tires are in great condition. Overall very well maintained car that should last another 100K.
NOTE: If you are test driving other Jettas, look for a slight jerk during switching of gears, this will tell you that transmission maybe starting to fail. Also be aware that usually when a transmission goes out completely they usually cost $3000-$5000 based on if it's new or rebuilt, which in this case would be the cost of the vehicle.

Production Volkswagen Taigun crossover caught in patent filing?
Wed, 01 May 2013Volkswagen brought an angular, bulldog-like small crossover concept called Taigun to the São Paulo motor show last year, claiming that it wanted to gauge interest in the design before making a decision about production. If a new report with alleged leaked patent images is to be believed, then, interest must have been pretty high.
China's Auto.Sohu.com has published this group of Taigun images, claiming that they have been sourced from the Chinese patent office and that the subcompact VW utility based on the Up! has been cleared for production.
If all of that is true, and if these images are representative of the final product, you'll see that designers haven't done much to alter the concept car's appearance. Comparing, shot for shot, with the images we have from Brazil, we see that even small details like roof rack-mounted lights and exhaust tips integrated in the rear fascia have been carried over. Take a closer look for yourself in the attached galleries.
Volkswagen Passat gets Wolfsburg Edition, priced from $23,495*
Tue, 23 Apr 2013Volkswagen has just announced a new Passat Wolfsburg Edition, which slots between the base S and mid-grade SE trims in terms of content and price. The automaker has not released any official photos of the car as of this writing (aside from the badge shot you see here, of course), but the Wolfsburg Passat will be visually set apart from the rest by a unique set of 16-inch alloy wheels.
The big host of upgrades for the Wolfsburg Edition are found inside, where buyers will enjoy standard amenities like leatherette seats (with bun-warmers on the front chairs), a power driver's seat, satellite radio and a media interface with iPod connectivity. Of course, this comes on top of the already standard Passat features like Bluetooth and auto on/off headlamps. The Wolfsburg Passat will only be available with the 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine and a six-speed automatic transmission.
Look for the 2013 Wolfsburg Edition Passat to hit dealerships in the very near future, priced from $23,495, *not including $795 for destination. Have a look below for Volkswagen's official press blast.
VW reveals Outback-rivaling Golf Alltrack ahead of Paris
Wed, 24 Sep 2014The Volkswagen Passat Alltrack is getting a baby brother at this year's 2014 Paris Motor Show in the form of a new Golf Alltrack. Like its larger sibling, the little wagon is supposed to offer light-duty off-road driving ability combined with a more rugged look to show it off.
To give the Golf Alltrack that soft-road ability, VW is outfitting the wagon with its latest 4Motion all-wheel drive system from Haldex. The setup can decouple power from the rear-axle when not needed to save fuel. To further improve traction, the Alltrack gets VW's electronic differential lock, and the car can individually brake its inside wheel during hard cornering for better handling.
Volkswagen also wants the Alltrack to be able to visually show that it can handle getting away from the pavement, even though it starts life as a standard Golf wagon. That means jacking up the suspension an extra 0.75 inches and adding black moldings all the way around the car. There are also redesigned bumpers for the front and rear and silver underbody protection, plus new accents like anodized roof rails and silver mirror caps. The interior is essentially unchanged from the wagon, except for altered trim and Alltrack badges.
