2000 VW JETTA GLS 2.0 l NO ACCIDENTS ADULT OWNED
ORIGINAL 230,300 MILES RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD
2000 Volkswagen Jetta GLS
For sale is my 2000 Jetta GLS with 230,000 highway miles on
it. The super reliable VW 2.0 gas engine gets great gas mileage.
I bought the car brand LIGHTLY used in 2002. I have taken pretty good care of
it but it is time for something new(er). I have been driving this car for the
last 12 years and have CONSISTENTLY gotten 31 MPG on every tank.
The exterior is RED, straight with a couple very
minor parking lot dings from other cars, and a dent on the upper fender on the passenger
side, just below the A pillar (front windshield frame/door frame area) and the
wheel opening (see pics). The rocker panels are in GREAT shape and there is NO
RUST to speak of on the body of this car.
The factory floor mats are in great shape. I’ve installed
the McNeil brand of floor liners since the day I bought it and the ORIGINAL
carpet and FLOOR MATS look excellent. The stereo (Monsoon?) is 6 disc CD (in
the trunk), tape, AM/FM stereo. I
honestly don’t know what is going on with the stereo, the sound won’t come on
for a couple/few minutes and then it’ll come on. Heat works very good. . The AC works EXCELLENT. The seats are manual
with lumbar support. All power windows and locks work EXCEPT for the passenger
rear. I’m not sure if it is a regulator, switch or electronic, but it is all
out on the RIGHT REAR side. The car comes with 1 of the switchblade keys. You can find one online at ebay and get it
done at a dealer if you want another key.
The suspension has not been touched, so it could probably
use some struts/shocks replaced. The
front grill is beginning to lose it’s clearcoat in spots. The tires have
about 3/4 tread left in the front and the rears are still like new . I think
they have about 10k miles on them. The clutch is in ok working order as is the
five speed manual transmission. There is a small “star” in the passenger
side windshield were a rock hit it. Hood
opens and closes perfectly, as does the trunk and gas door. So that is
everything I can think of to tell you about the car. It really is pretty decent
for a 2000. Please check all the pics first before asking questions. If you
need anymore info please call 937-286-6868 or text or email.

Watch the VW E-Golf get made
Fri, Jun 13 2014If you've ever been on a tour of an automotive factory, you know how mesmerizing it can be to see humans and robots work together to build our four-wheeled friends. The swift automation, the cleanliness, the trained hands deftly fitting pieces together and watchful eyes inspecting every piece of the car, it's all quite impressive, especially if the vehicle is one you, as an observer, are fond of. Even just seeing a fresh, gleaming badge being applied to immaculately painted sheet metal is enough to curl ones toes. Such is the case with this video from of the E-Golf being pieced together in the Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant. There's no narration or music - just the sounds of production - so it's easy to follow the singular motions that go into the process without distraction, with a slight sense of actually being on the floor. This solo video is only seven minutes long, so it's not quite the epic that was the BMW i3 production series. Therefore, we miss a lot of the initial build, such as pressing the sheet metal, painting, and putting together a lot of the inner workings. What is refreshing to see is how much of the final touches of the electric Golf are done by hand using actual hand tools (and with typical German efficiency). There's even a person riding a bicycle through the factory at one point, which is common at Wolfsburg and also rather quaint. Enjoy the video below, and if you have a suggestion for a good soundtrack to go along with it, sound off in the comments. This content is hosted by a third party. Volkswagen iBeetle gets integrated iPhone dock, little else
Fri, 19 Apr 2013Apple fans have been itching to see the tech giant flex the full muscle of its iOS operating system in an automotive infotainment system for years, which is why we turned all sorts of excited when we caught wind of the Volkswagen iBeetle. The machine is headed to the Shanghai Motor Show for a debut, and VW promised it would be one of the "first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." Listen closely, and you can hear the contented sigh of a million wallets opening.
Go ahead and close those up, kids.
In reality, the iBeetle offers little more than a dash-mounted dock and a special app that shows a few vehicle functions, which is about as far from an infotainment revolution as you're likely to find. In fact, the setup is little more than a factory rehash of aftermarket items, and hardly worth a whole model debut at an international motor show. And that's to say nothing of the fact that Apple relishes in changing the shape and form of its darling handheld at every generation. Volkswagen better be prepared to keep pace with appropriate docking mechanisms for the upcoming iPhone 5S, 6, 6S, et al.
Volkswagen reveals Beetle GSR, R-Line convertible and two special GTIs
Thu, 07 Feb 2013Volkswagen has chosen to really expand its performance-tuned portfolio at this year's Chicago Auto Show, bringing along a couple of new Beetles destined for model year 2014, as well as a pair of freshened GTI packages that you'll be able to buy almost right away.
The first, and splashiest of the Chicago goodies on the VW stand has got to be the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle GSR. Don't lose your temper, Acura Integra geeks; in this case, GSR stands for "Gelb Schwarzer Renner" or "Yellow Black Racer," and harkens back to a sport-tuned classic Beetle from the 1970s. For the 2014 iteration, the GSR gets a 210-horsepower version of VW's 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder. That engine is enough to push the Beetle to 60 miles per hour in 6.6 seconds, and up to a top speed of 130 mph.
Of course, you'll have long-since noticed the shockingly yellow-and-black livery before you stumble across the Turbo badge on the rear deck. The GSR gets 19-inch alloy wheels, 235-section tires and a tea-tray rear spoiler, but it's the paint and graphics package that will decide if this is your (lemony) cup of tea. Things don't get any subtler inside the car, either, as VW has carried the colorway through to the interior, as well. Only 3,500 Beetle GSRs will be produced, with just more than half of those going to the US - call your dealer today, Wiz Khalifa.
