This item up for bid is a 2000 VW TDI Diesel with 246165 miles on it that runs and drives great. Let me start off by saying that I have been a VW mechanic for several years and work at a local dealership. This car has recently had the timing belt, tensioner, water pump, and a new cylinder head installed on it with new valves and valve seals, also the glow plugs have been replaced and the transmission has been serviced with new fluid. This car does have some minor scratch and dents which is expected to happen with a car of this age, but nothing extreme. This car has ATI after-market wheels on it and will come with the original rims too. The tires on these rims are also in descent shape with the exception of one thats on 1 of the original rims . Car will need front and rear breaks. They're close and should be replaced fairly soon, but if you buy this car or win it and bring breaks with you, I will gladly put them on for you for free. Also, I will preform a complete diagnostics scan in front of you to give you as much information as I can about your purchase. The reason I am selling this, is I now have to rebuild the engine in my truck, which is a 6.0 Ford Diesel, just to let you know, the parts are expensive and I need my truck more than I need another TDI diesel, I have three of them. VW builds 250,000th Passat in Chattanooga in just two years
Sun, 26 May 2013It hasn't been without incident or union organizing drive, but the Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga, TN has built its 250,000 Passat in just a little over two years. The Night Blue Passat TDI with black leather has come just two years and five weeks after the first customer car came off the line on April 18, 2011.
In the last year the plant operated at the 150,000-unit capacity that it was intended for, but the downturn in Passat sales and subsequent worker layoffs mean it will be a challenge to repeat the feat. The plant does have the world's largest solar park, though, and you can't take that away from them.

VW Super Bowl teaser with Jimmy Cliff is like a less-mean Tosh.0 Web Redemption
Thu, 24 Jan 2013Reggae super-duper-star and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jimmy Cliff has been using music to send positive vibes out into the universe for decades now, so its no surprise that his message on behalf of Volkswagen is one of redemption.
Dubbed Sunny Side, this web-spot is VW's warmup of sorts for what promises to be another blockbuster year in the world of Super Bowl commercials. Without giving away the game, the euphonious commercial sees Cliff opening his arms and his heart to some YouTube 'celebrities' that might see courser treatment from the likes of Tosh.0, for instance. We can't help but be reminded of Coca-Cola's legendary 1971 Hilltop spot with the "I'd like to buy the world a Coke" lyric, too.

Next-gen Volkswagen Golf R spied while running the 'Ring
Tue, 16 Apr 2013The launch of a new Volkswagen Golf is never a small thing, and things are already looking up for the subcompact hatchback after it was named 2013 World Car of the Year. While we've already seen the base and GTI versions of the next-generation Golf, now we're getting our first look at the sportier Golf R.
Although this prototype wears GTI lettering on the front fenders, it's more than just the roll cage and Sparco racing seat hinting that this is something a little more serious. Unlike the Golf and GTI, this car shows that the Golf R will continue to flaunt massive air intakes on each side of the fascia, and the rear of the car (though it's hard to see) has quadruple exhaust outlets. We still don't have an official word on power, but rumors indicate that the next Golf R could be pushing close to 300 horsepower, making it the most powerful production Golf ever. As much fun as we had during our first drive of the Golf R Cabriolet in the cold, snowy French Riviera last month, more power is a warming idea.
