Just so you won't be surprised, however, there are a few scratches on the bottom of the back and front bumper, a shallow nickel-sized ding on the right back panel, and some wheel curbing. You can see all of these in the images in the gallery. Other than that this car is in pristine condition."

Amazing deal on my 2011 Volkswagen GTI with super low miles and solid warranty. New tires, recently fully serviced, mostly garaged. One adult owner. Priced to sell.
I love this car but rarely drive it since I live and work in Venice, California. Typically I take my scooter most places.

In June I took it to the VW dealership in Santa Monica for its scheduled 2 year check-up maintenance and replaced the front/rear left tires. I have been the sole owner/driver. Never been in an accident and hasn't been smoked in.

I opted at the time of purchase to get the best warranty possible that includes Total Loss Protection and a 6 Year / 85,000 mile Platinum Warranty.

Also I loaded up this car with features when I bought it:

Sunroof/Moonroof ( which is a must )
Tinted Windows ( within California State law )
Bluetooth Ready
CD/MP3/Audio Out ( the speakers sound amazing!)
Heated Seats and Heated Mirrors
Leather Steering Wheel
Satellite Radio
Intermittent Wipers
Rubber Floor Mats
Keyless Entry
Power Locks
Power Mirrors
Power Windows
Cruise Control
Daytime Running Lights
Traction/Stability Control
Alloy Wheels
Fog Lights
Air Conditioning

The cosmetic condition of the car is great.
Just so you won't be surprised, however, there are a few scratches on the bottom of the back and front bumper, a shallow nickel-sized ding on the right back panel, and some wheel curbing. You can see all of these in the images in the gallery. Other than that this car is pristine!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

Thanks!

VW looking to MAN up, ditch Mercedes van deal

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Unlike the US, the commercial truck market throughout the rest of the world is chocked full of competitors from many different automakers. Since 2006, Volkswagen has had a fullsize van called the Crafter that was a result of a partnership with Daimler AG and based on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. This partnership is supposed to last through 2016, but Reuters is reporting that VW might be looking to end its relationship with Daimler and create its own van in cooperation with German truck and bus maker MAN.
The article says that VW AG has more than a 75-percent stake in MAN, which would essentially be keeping the new commercial vehicle in-house. Even if VW bolts, Daimler still has a deal worked out in the commercial truck industry between its subsidiary Mitsubishi Fuso and Renault-Nissan to supply the other with different trucks.

United States drivers buying fewer Mexican-made cars

Tue, May 10 2016

Crossovers and pickup trucks are not only growing in market share, they're also more profitable than cars. A crossover on the same platform as a sedan retails for thousands more, despite similar components. It's one of the reasons we've seen automakers rapidly shifting production of their sedans and hatchbacks to Mexico, where cheap labor preserves the thin profit margins on these inexpensive vehicles. But as the market continues to shift in the United States, Mexico is getting burned by its lack of product diversity. The country's auto exports, which are heavy on cars, suffered a 16-percent drop last month, Automotive News reports. In total, year-over-year exports fell from 233,515 to 197,020 last month, while year-to-date exports are down by 7.4 percent, from 922,029 to 854,118. The number one culprit? America – which usually accounts for 75 percent of Mexico's exports – and its appetite for crossovers and pickup trucks bolstered by cheap gas prices. While Mexico does build some light truck models – AN specifically calls out the Ram 2500, Honda HR-V, GMC Sierra, and Toyota Tacoma as export leaders – the vast majority of vehicles rolling out of its factories are sedans and hatchbacks. In fact, the three biggest drops in Mexican exports came from companies whose south of the border factories only build cars – Ford (Fusion/Lincoln MKZ and Fiesta), Mazda (Mazda3), and Volkswagen (Golf and Jetta). Mexican Automotive Industry Association President Eduardo Solis told AN the export shortfall will likely be sorted out sooner rather than later, thanks to a pair of new factories – a Kia car factory and an Audi SUV plant – that are coming online by year's end. The two facilities will add around 100,000 vehicles to the country's export totals, which Solis said should leave the industry on the verge of breaking another export record in 2016. But how sustainable will these record-breaking years be? Slapping an "Hecho en Mexico" sticker on a new German SUV won't be enough to change the fact that Mexico's product mix is tilted too heavily towards body styles that are not growing in volume. Mexico's record-breaking export years probably aren't at an end, but we'd argue they're certainly under threat. 2015 VW Golf R caught getting a flogging on 'Ring

Wed, 22 May 2013

The upcoming version of the Volkswagen Golf R is nearly ready for prime time, if this video of the car flying around the Nürburgring is any indication. The all-wheel-drive R seems to make quick, neat work of the corners we see here, and sounds pretty devilish in the process.
Expectations are that the new Golf R will run a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder (what else?), tuned to produce even more than the current car's 256 horsepower. (Some sources have indicated outputs as high as 286 horsepower, with 280 pound-feet of torque. It's still not clear if Volkswagen will bring the six-speed dual-clutch transmission to the US-spec Golf R in this next go-round or if we'll stick to having only... eh... the stick.
In either case - watching the video below will only whet your appetite for the new, highest performing member of the Golf family.
