But le me tell you a little bit more about this great vehicle....
Car has a regular CA title with a salvage history (or so called reconstructed in other states), it wasn't considered a total loss, there was NO structural damage, NO airbag deployment, there is NO odometer roll back, so have the peace of mind that the mileage is actual. As for the price, kbb suggested retail (which is not taking into consideration) is set over 20k, and the private party value is 18,280 which is more then the one im taking as a base price to the math, and come up with my suggested price... Carfax says this car is worth $2,230 less than retail (not private party value) so, if i substract that amount from the $18,280 i end up with a $16,050 value (take or give), and that price does not consider the GTI package, which adds around another $3,000 dlls... Just trying to explain  why im offering the car at this price, (even though it has a salvage history)  i think my suggested price is a fair price for both sides buyer/seller (considering). Now about the salvage history... car was bought from an insurance company since it was involved in a slight passenger side collision (cosmetically), changed several parts,  and don't get me wrong here, i changed all that parts, not because they were extremely damage or something, actually they were fixable, the thing is, i just don't like fixed parts, they never look and they will never  be the same... so i went ahead and bought brand new parts, and they are all genuine VW original parts (oem) not some cheap replica or some used auto wrecking yard parts... changed the 2 passenger doors, fender,  made the conversion to the GTI which included, grills, fog lights, wheels, front bumper, and had all this parts flawlessly matched painted... Car has been serviced a couple of weeks ago, engine feels like new (something you would expect from a 34k mile tdi car) coolant, oil and filter, diesel fitler, air filter, tire pressure checked, balance and alignment, car doesn't vibe, shake, or make "funny" noises, suspension is tight and it drives straight as an arrow. Every option in this car works as it should, electrical componenets, sunroof, sterero, speakers, sensors,  there are no cluster indicator lights on, and they all do work propperly, so everything's in place, you name it...
If you're in the market looking for a good reliable car, well, this is it, car is in great condition, and needs nothing but a new driver, very good looking car as well, not to mention the economical part (great mpg), this is by far the best "bang for your buck" that you will get, but hey, don't believe me, please go ahead and do a little reaserch on yourself, compare condition, years, mileage, characteristics etc... Obviously i have the title in my posseission, plate/tags are current and everything's set to get it registered under your name....
I know car has been priced to sell, but if still you feel like i must hear from you and your "reasonable offer" don't hesitate on letting me know... I tryed to explain everything i could in the add descriptionon, but if i missed something or you just have any other questions about this great car, let me know and i'll get back to you asap...
As for the shipping and payment:
Buyer is completely responsible for vehicle pick up at sellers location (San Diego) or make shipping arrangements to theirs. As for the payment, the accepted methods are: Cash (in person obviously) cashiers check (certified by the US or Canadian Bank), Loan Checks (Certified by US or Canadian Bank), and ALWAYS the Check funds must clear before the buyer receives the vehicle and documentation. Buyer must make a NON REFUNDABLE paypal deposit of $300dlls within 48hours of the auction closing/ending or being declared as the winning buyer (ebay terms). Buyer must complete the full payment within 7 days as well. This is a serious sale, so please, bid on this car, only  if you are serious about buying it, keep ebay an easy, trusted and trouble free community... Another thing you should consider if you're trying to get financing on this car, not all banks loan on this type of vehicle (probably some banks policies)  since it has a "salvage history", i know NavFed and Wells Fargo banks do (have worked with them before) and im pretty sure some others as well, so please talk to your bank rep and make sure you have your funds worked out before considering on placing a bid... By placing an offer or buying this vehicle, buyer accepts all seller terms...
If you are a San Diego local, and have a chance, you should stop by and check it out pesrsonally so you can really appreciate it, i know you'll love this car..
NO trades this time, sorry!!...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LOOKING AT MY LISTING!!!...

VW adding particulate filters to gas engines

Wed, Aug 3 2016

Volkswagen is working hard to overcome the PR disaster that is its diesel emissions scandal, and part of its efforts is focusing, weirdly, on petrol engines. Starting in June 2017, the embattled German automaker will add particulate filters to the gas-powered Volkswagen Tiguan and Audi A5. The change will eventually impact nearly every direct-injected gas engine the VW Group makes. Audi? Particulate filter. Seat? Particulate filter. Even Bentley is going to get the tech, all in a bid to reduce soot emissions by 90 percent. In fact, by 2022 VAG expects 7 million of its vehicles to boast the emissions-cleaning tech, which has long been a fixture on diesel engines. "Following increases in efficiency and lower CO2 output, we are now bringing about a sustained reduction in the emission levels of our modern petrol engines by fitting particulate filters as standard," Volkswagen Group research and design boss Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn said in a statement. "In the future, all models will be equipped with the latest and most efficient SCR catalytic converter technology." VW's initial rollout focuses on the 1.4-liter, turbocharged Tiguan and the 2.0-liter, turbocharged A5. Considering the popularity of the 2.0-liter across the VW range, we'd expect it's only a matter of time before VW expands its particulate filters tech to additional gas-powered vehicles. The not-Subaru crossover wagon | 2017 Volkswagen Alltrack First Drive

Fri, Sep 16 2016

Funnily enough, in light of dieselgate, Volkswagen is one of the few brands (along with Volvo and Subaru) to preserve the notion that you don't need a fuel-sucking SUV to meet your life-carrying needs. And, yes, VW's history of addressing off-road desires with all-wheel-drive dates to the mid-1980s with the Quantum Syncro (a.k.a. Passat) and Golf Country – the latter, sadly, never came stateside. The latest offering toward this effort is the 2017 Volkswagen Alltrack. What's an Alltrack? It's a slightly lifted, cladded, and butched-out version of the Golf Sportwagen (yes, formerly known as a Jetta). Not to steal Alltrack's thunder, but starting in 2017 you can also get the standard Sportwagen with 4Motion AWD, which is basically the same running gear for less money. The Alltrack starts at $26,950; the 4Motion Sportwagen starts at $24,930, both with the dual-clutch automatic available at launch. Any discussion of tall wagons brings Subaru immediately to mind, both with the Outback and the Impreza-based Crosstrek. The Volkswagen Alltrack sits between the two in size at 180.2 inches long – 5 more than the Crosstrek and 9.4 inches shorter than the Outback. The 2017 Subaru Outback starts at $25,645, and VW's comparisons focus on the Outback, which is understandable given the similar starting price. A bare-bones Crosstrek starts at $22,245, but quickly gets into Golf price overlap. The Alltrack and the 4Motion Golf Sportwagen are superior daily drivers to the Subaru, whether you're doing an emergency lane change or just trying to merge onto the interstate. Meanwhile, the Crosstrek doesn't have the refinement of the VW. Can we fault Subaru though? It's set a sales record every year in a row since 2010 and is looking at about triple the sales volume of VW's Golf for 2016. So we'll stick to telling you what we think of the Alltrack and let the dealers fight for your dollars. First thing's first. Yes, you can have the Golf Sportwagen and even the Alltrack with a manual six-speed gearbox. The seven-speed DSG automatic is very good, but it's worth noting that any manual gearbox is a rarity these days, especially when we're not talking about a two-seat sports car. You will have to wait until early 2017 for that option, but it also saves you $1,100 off both models. Second, the Alltrack and 4Motion Sportwagens get identical engines. Whether manual or DSG, VW's EA888 turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder is under the hood.

2016 Volkswagen Golf TDI SportWagen Review

Tue, Sep 1 2015

You might think that after driving a Dodge Challenger Hellcat during the week of the Woodward Dream Cruise, seven days with a diesel-powered Volkswagen Golf SportWagen would be a letdown. You know, like following a shot of Jack Daniels with a sippy cup of Metamucil. But it ended up being perfect timing. Right at the end of my Challenger loan, I signed my name what felt like 1,241 times, handed over a very, very large check, and officially bought my first home. The SportWagen arrived on moving day, and I set about putting the longroof's hauling ability to the ultimate test, schlepping everything I own to my very first house. SportWagens, like Metamucil, can often be very good for you. The wagon's cargo area isn't dramatically bigger than the standard Golf – 30.4 cubic feet versus 22.8 – unless you fold the second row down. With the seats flat, the Golf SportWagen's advantage nearly doubles, to 66.5 cubic feet. But it's not just the extra space that makes moving things a lot easier. The rear hatch is more defined and sits atop a lower bumper. The load height is just 24.8 inches, while the tailgate opens to an aperture of 40.6 inches. It also opens high enough that your six-foot, one-inch author can stand tall below it. The load height is just 24.8 inches, while the tailgate opens to an aperture of 40.6 inches. In short, loading stuff into the back was a breeze. While you might expect the Golf SportWagen to make short work of a bunch of boxes, it was easy to add larger items into the mix. I hauled nightstands, a large desk chair, and even all four pieces of a king-size IKEA bed frame with a minimal amount of fuss. That said, Volkswagen uses nice materials in the cargo compartment of the Golf, so if you frequently move a lot of stuff, expect to see visible wear sooner rather than later. If you prefer to move people instead of things, rest easy knowing the wagon mimics the Golf hatchback's 35.6 inches of rear legroom. Moving locally meant a lot of back-and-forth trips. Between the actual move itself and the subsequent running around, I put 600 miles on the Golf SportWagen during my week-long loan. But with this car, I could have done way more and wouldn't have found cause to complain. It's the little details that make the Golf feel premium. The Golf's cabin is a great place to be.
