Ok VW guys and gals here is a 1994 volkswagen golf MK3. It has the 2.0 gas engine with the 5 speed manual tranny. The car runs and drives great. It cranks easy with no smoke and the clutch feels good and the tranny shifts out great. There have been some mods done to the car (before I purchased it) It has drilled front rotors, Short throw shifter kit, Nothelle springs (H&R), tubular headers. The interior is in pretty decent shape with the exception of the head liner. The tires are ok and the brakes have plenty of tread left. The timing belt is fairly new as well as the exhaust. The car is fun to drive but it needs some tlc. It would make a great project car because alot of things have already been done.

The bad.
The car was originally red but was sprayed (not by me) flat black. The previous owner parked it under a tree for years and never washed it so it shows signs of that.
The AC doesnt work and Im not sure why
It needs a heater core. The lines have been bypassed so as of now no heat.
The instrument cluster doesnt work. The miles show 167K and some change but its not clocking miles.
The ignition switch quit cranking the car 2 days ago. I tried working with it with no luck. I installed a push button on the dash (no holes were drilled) that works great. Turn on the key, hit the button, turn off the key when you want it to quit.
The sun roof leaks and needs work. This caused the head liner to fall and get gross so I took it out. I still have the backing but its not in the car right now but is included in the sale.
Passenger side tail light isnt working (not a bulb)
Drivers side headlight low beam is out.
Needs a radio but there is a Kicker amp under the rear seat that powers up but not sure if it works. But Im not taking it out so its yours as well.

As I was cleaning it earlier my daughter was coloring the driveway with chalk. This sparked an idea. The flat black paint works great as a chalk board and yep it washes right off.. This thing could be a rolling billboard or art creation.
The car needs alot of work but its a southern car with no rust or major body issues at all. It does run great and its really fun to drive. Keep in mind That Im listing this as a project car. these cars are getting hard to come by and this is a really good start to a fun project. If you are local please feel free to come see it. Feel free to ask any and all questions and do not bid with unanswered questions. Depending on the total amount at the end of the auction I might let you pay the full amount through paypal. I have no problem selling to bidders outside the US. But if you are outside the US paypal is your only option for payment and you handle shipping. Shipping is up to the buyer and I can help load if no problem. I have a few phone numbers here at the house so I might be able to help some. but try to have your shipping set up before you bid cause it aint cheap.

Volkswagen's De Silva says next Scirocco will be 'completely different'

Tue, 02 Apr 2013

From our perspective, the reborn Volkswagen Scirocco is a handsome (if squat) little thing. Yet design-wise, it's always struck us as uncomfortably close to the Golf three-door hatchback with which it shares its basic underpinnings. That aesthetic kinship may be part of the reason why Volkswagen has steadfastly refused to import the Scirocco to North America, seeing as how the Golf doesn't regularly set the company's sales charts alight, and it's less expensive.
But that visual similarity might be about to change, says Walter De Silva, who recently told Australia's Car Advice that, "It must be completely different... we don't want to repeat the bodystyle of the Scirocco, we want to change that." Further, the Volkswagen Group's design boss says that the next-generation car isn't terribly far along in development yet - "at the moment, it's only a studio [project]... it's not defined." It's probably just as well, as the new seventh-generation Golf arguably borrows some of its design from the current Scirocco anyway.
So we should expect a much bolder, more differentiated design, right? Well, yes, no and maybe. Back in September, De Silva himself was quoted as saying that the era of flamboyant styling has passed, and that future VW designs will be simpler to better reflect the times and preserve resale value. So... how different could it be?

Ford Mustang Mach-E fails Sweden's moose test

Wed, Sep 29 2021

The infamous moose test has claimed another casualty. This time it's the Ford Mustang Mach-E AWD Long Range, which was tested in an electric four-way alongside the Tesla Model Y, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Skoda Enyaq iV (an electric utility vehicle closely related to the Volkswagen ID.4 that is sold in the United States). According to the Swedish testers at Teknikens Varld, Ford's electric car not only failed to hit the speed necessary for a passing grade, it didn't perform well at slower speeds, either. To pass the outlet's moose test, a car has to complete a rapid left-right-straight S-shaped pattern marked by cones at a speed of at least 72 km/h (44.7 miles per hour). The test is designed to mimic the type of avoidance maneuver a driver would have to take in order to avoid hitting something that wandered into the road, which in Sweden may be a moose but could just as easily be a deer or some other member of the animal kingdom elsewhere in the world, or possibly a child or car backing into the motorway. Not only is the maneuver very aggressive, it's also performed with weights belted into each seat and more weight added to the cargo area to hit the vehicle's maximum allowable carrying capacity. The Mustang Mach-E only managed to complete the moose test at 68 km/h (42.3 mph), well below the passing-grade threshold. Even at much lower speeds, Teknikens Varld says the Mach-E (which boasts the highest carrying capacity and was therefore loaded with more weight than the rest of the vehicles tested in this quartet) is "too soft in the chassis" and suffers from "too slow steering." Proving that it is indeed possible to pass the test, the Hyundai and Skoda completed the maneuver at the 44.7-mph figure required for a passing grade and the Tesla did it at 46.6 mph, albeit with less weight in the cargo area. It's not clear whether other versions of the Mustang Mach-E would pass the test. It's also unknown if Ford will make any changes to its chassis tuning or electronic stability control software, as some other automakers have done after a poor performance from Teknikens Varld, to improve its performance in the moose test. Carlex Criollo is a Volkswagen Multivan shrine to Alcantara, leather and... fish

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

A keen angler recently went to Polish tuner Carlex Design (the same folks who did that steampunk Mini Countryman a while back) for a revamp of his Volkswagen Multivan. What resulted is perhaps the most striking - yet fishing-unfriendly - interior we've ever seen in a van. Below the shoulder line, if a surface isn't covered in cross-stitched Alcantara, then it's covered in cross-stitched leather. Even the steering wheel airbag boss. And the seat supports. And the cupholders.
The brown hue of the Multivan's interior is called Criollo, named for an especially fine specimen of cocoa. The finishing touch on the overhaul is a fileting knife that Carlex made for the owner. We imagine he'll use the knife for the marine life, but keep his van far away from it.
