This is a 12 second 1/4 mile capable car if set up right. It has has over 16k in mods done to it. The built motor only has around 5k on it. I became the second owner of this car when I bought it in 1998. It was bone stock and I have done every mod to it. It's always been garaged and only driven in the summer time. It has been sitting for the past three years with an occasional run around the neighborhood to keep everyhting in check. I am letting it go because have some bills to pay off. The list of mods is as follows.
DRIVETRAIN-2L 8v Turbo pushing 21psi of boost, SDS engine management with data logging and air/fuel monitoring. CP Teflon coated pistons, Pauter rods, EIP bigvalve ported head, G60 cam and bahn brenner adjustable cam sproket, Inovative T3-T04E Stage 3 super 60 turbo with 6 bolt exhaust housing flange, Bosh 550cc injectors, ATP variable rate fuel pressure regulator, ATP turbo manifold with 6 bolt flange, 35mm TIAL external wastegate, Custom Intercooler plumbing to a front mount intercooler with a NO2 fogger kit to spray over the intercooler to cool it (NO NO2 THROUGH THE MOTOR EVER), HKS Super sequential blow off valve, Bored and decked block, balanced crank, ARP hardware on everything, VW motorsports head gasket, Apexi AVC-R boost controller, MSD DIS-2 digital ignition, plus 2-step ignition to a MSD 4pack coil system and 8.5mm spark plug wires. 3" custom downpipe and exhaust system from magnaflow aluminized piping, G60 02A tranny with Pelequin Limited slip differential and a EIP stage 1 comp series 6 puck sprung clutch kit.
SUSPENSION-Koni Adjustables on Eibach sportline ple springs, Addco front and rear sway bars. I'll throw in a strut tower bar as well.
WHEELS/TIRES- 17" ENKEI rims on DUNLOP 205/40ZR17 tires with excellent tread.
BODY-House of colors black with a red pearl paint job, M3 side skirts, D-dietrich bumpers and a carbon fiber hood.
INTERIOR-Racing seats, 3 point harnesses, gauges, gutted back seat for weight reduction with covers.

Volkswagen lays off 500 Chattanooga workers
Fri, 19 Apr 2013The redesigned Volkswagen Passat has been a decent seller since its debut in 2011, but sales have apparently dropped off enough that the automaker is trimming some of the employees from its Chattanooga, TN assembly plant. According to Automotive News, Volkswagen will be cutting shifts and laying off 500 contracted workers in response to slowing sales.
Currently, the plant has three teams running 10-hour shifts Monday through Saturday, but starting May 13, this will be reduced down to two teams running 10-hour shifts Monday through Thursday. This will be done to reduce dealer inventory (the article says that VW dealers, on average, have a 97-day supply of Passats) and production capacity (currently running at an annual pace of 170,000 units, which is more than the 150,000 annual units the plant was planned to produce).
This, of course, isn't saying that the Passat has been a failure since VW added 200 full-time employees to the plant in February 2012 to keep up with increased demand. The AN article says that automakers frequently overstaff plants during the launch of a new product - or in this case, a new product and a new plant - but eventually reduce the workers as things run smoother and more efficiently.
2013 Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition brings exclusivity to the granddaddy of hot hatches
Thu, 07 Feb 2013The Volkswagen booth at this year's Chicago Auto Show was filled with various special edition models of the Beetle and GTI. In addition to the GTI Wolfsburg Edition, the Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition helps to wrap up the 2013 model year as VW readies the all-new MkVII Golf next year.
Only 3,000 of the GTI Driver's Edition models will be produced in four-door body style only, and the available color palette will be limited to just Candy White, Carbon Steel Gray and Deep Black. The package will come standard with the GTI's Sunroof and Navigation package, and it will add unique features such as the 18-inch "Laguna" wheels, a golf-ball shift knob, partial leather seats and red-stitching on the carpeted floor mats. Buyers of this package will also get a certificate of authenticity and some GTI swag such as a hat, keychain and parking sign.
Starting price for the 2013 Volkswagen GTI Driver's Edition is $29,695 with the six-speed manual and $30,795 if you choose the DSG - both prices exclude destination charges.
