1999 Eurovan Camper
97,750 miles
This is the full camper version of the 1999 Eurovan. As you should already know, all 1999 Eurovan Campers came with
the same specifications (fridge, stove, sink, furnace, cabinets, swivel seats, table, V6, 4 speed automatic, 2
beds, pop top, white paint with grey interior).
This van has a Clear Vehicle History report from both Carfax and AutoCheck (by Experian) and has never been in an
accident.
These Vans are No Longer Available and are full of Character! That being said, it is a Volkswagen Van Converted by
Winnebago in the states. I don't think there is one in existence that is absolutely perfect. In the true spirit of
the VW Van, I think a fair price should be offered. I dont think these vans are worth $20,000+ because of the
"love" they constantly require. If you ask around in the community, you will understand that these are not
maintenance free.
This Van has been well loved and has a book of receipts and records! GoWesty and Pop Top Heaven have been great
resources. The engine has been rebuilt, as has the transmission. This Van was used as it was intended and
maintained to be as worry free as possible. No one wants to get stranded on a road trip!
Engine overhauled and rebuilt at 95,905 miles!
Timing Chains and Guides - Done and Sorted!
Transmission Rebuilt!
No Malfunction Indicator Lights Illuminated
CA Smog Certification can be Included at Buyer's request
(SEE PHOTOS FOR SERVICE RECORDS/RECEIPTS)
Please read the more detailed information on the car below and don't hesitate to ask questions. I highly recommend
any interested local buyer come by to take a close look at the van and test-drive or arrange a Pre Purchase
inspection. It will be my pleasure to help in any way. The Van is safely stored at Mt Olive Storage in Duarte (They
are great guys over there!) It is
very clean inside and the sink and stove have no built up grime, corrosion, or gunk.
The sink works well and all of the cabinetry is in great shape with no broken hinges or latches. The canvas in the
pop top has some wear in the screens, but the canvas itself is in great condition - no need to replace.
The fridge works on 12v, LP gas, or 110v shore power.
The gas struts that support the pop-top have been replaced and they work very well.
Exterior Condition
Rust is not an issue whatsoever. The Front and Rear Bumpers have some Blemishes. The paint is not Oxidized nor
Corroded. There is a scratch or two here and there from various adventures that add character but are not
immediately noticeable unless inspecting closely.
Interior Condition
The interior is clean. There is no odor - good or bad. Never smoked in. I have a sensitive nose and can't stand the
smell of air fresheners, perfumes, or deodorizers. My philosophy is just keep it clean and it will smell clean!
There are no rips or tears in the upholstery. Perfectly fitting rubber/plastic mats from GoWesty on the
driver/passenger floor as well as the camper floor. As I said, all of the camping gear is in excellent working
condition.

VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt
Sun, 08 Sep 2013
Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
VW may move production because of Russia's cutoff of natural gas
Sun, Sep 25 2022Volkswagen AG is exploring ways to counter a shortage in natural gas, including shifting production around its network of global facilities, signaling how the energy crisis unleashed by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine threatens to upend EuropeÂ’s industrial landscape. Volkswagen, EuropeÂ’s biggest carmaker, said Thursday that reallocating some of its production was one of the options available in the medium term if gas shortages last much beyond this winter. The company has major factories in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which are among European countries most reliant on Russian gas, as well as facilities in southern Europe that source energy from elsewhere. “As mid-term alternatives, we are focusing on greater localization, relocation of manufacturing capacity, or technical alternatives, similar to what is already common practice in the context of challenges related to semiconductor shortages and other recent supply chain disruptions,” Geng Wu, VolkswagenÂ’s head of purchasing, said in a statement. RussiaÂ’s decision to throttle gas supplies to Europe has raised concerns that Germany might be forced to ration its fuel. Recent news that gas storage levels hit 90% ahead of schedule has soothed fears of acute shortages this winter, but Germany faces a challenge in replenishing depleted reserves next summer without contributions from Russia. Southwestern Europe or coastal zones of northern Europe, both of which have better access to seaborne liquefied natural gas cargoes, could be the beneficiaries of any production shift, a Volkswagen spokesman said by phone. The Volkswagen group already operates car factories in Portugal, Spain and Belgium, countries that host LNG terminals. Labor hurdles To be sure, any major production shift away from EuropeÂ’s biggest economy would face significant hurdles. VW has some 295,000 employees in Germany and worker representatives account for around half the companyÂ’s 20-member supervisory board. Any shift in production would likely involve a limited number of vehicles rather than wholesale factory shutdowns. While gas supplies for VWÂ’s plants are currently secured, the company has identified potential savings at its European sites to cut gas consumption by a “mid-double-digit percentage,” said Michael Heinemann, managing director of VWÂ’s power-plant unit. Still, the carmaker said it was concerned about the effect high gas prices could have on its suppliers.
Volkswagen shows off performance-ish Passat concept
Mon, 14 Jan 2013As part of its 2013 Detroit Auto Show debut package, Volkswagen has rolled out a sportier version of the Passat sedan, though it's strictly conceptual for now. A small dose of go-fast visuals have been added to the handsome Volkswagen, including 19-inch wheels, carbon-capped mirrors, an advanced front lighting system, LED taillamps and dual exhaust. Some carbon bits and upgraded leather are found inside the cabin, as well.
But the real performance chops come in the form of a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that sends 250 horsepower to the Passat's front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. That's a good boost in power over the 170 hp of the base 2.5-liter inline-five, but not quite as potent as the 3.6-liter VR6. A lowered sport suspension and revised electronic steering are also on hand, making things slightly more involving out on the road... we assume.
It's not quite the performance concept we were hoping for, but a more enthusiastic Passat isn't necessarily a bad thing. Scroll down for the press release.
