1997 Volkswagen Eurovan on 2040-cars
Victorville, California, United States
Feel free to email: rickiermmuphy@freeolamail.com .
ONLY 89,300 miles!!! 2 owners. Clean title. No accidents. If you are looking for a beautiful low mileage camper
this is a great one! It has been my main car and has never given me any problems.
Recently serviced at Westy Werks in SLO, including an automatic transmission service. All new tires purchased in
December. All paperwork on van since new. Great condition.
This is the full camper with kitchen (sink, fridge, stove), 2 folding tables, outdoor shower sprayer, lots of
storage, beds top and bottom, etc. . . The sink and stove are like new- they have never been used and stove
surround still has plastic coating on it from factory. I don't know if the shower sprayer has been used but we have
not used it. Both bed pads are in great condition. Top bunk practically new. We just took the plastic off the
cushions and used them for the first time less than 2 years ago and haven't slept there much. There is plenty of
storage for everything you need. We regularly have the van stocked with down comforters, pillows, beach chairs,
cooking utensils, food, clothes, books, and more.
This van has always been well maintained and looks great- but it is a used van that has spent much of its life
camping and has some wear to show for it. Please see photos. Overall clean and looks great.
Some issues- I'll try to list every little thing i am aware of:
-Antenna is broken, radio still works.
-Front drivers side speaker recently started not working sometimes. I am not sure if this is an issue with the
dial/balance or a loose wire.
-Rip in one side of screen in pop top. This is the screen, not the canvas.
-On the back curtain one half of bottom stitching has come out
-Shade on side door pull is broken. You can purchase a replacement or we just tie it up and untie when we want it
down.
-There is cracking in the hard vinyl around the front doors inside. Could be replaced or repaired.
-Drivers side seat has one hole from wear.
-Drivers side door has wear to fabric under window.
-On the outside- Small dent on drivers side of car (see photos) and a few minor scrapes and dings (see photos).
Still looks great overall.

Tanner Foust drifts in with new VW Passat [w/video]
Thu, Apr 9 2015Tanner Foust, like many drifting and rallycross names, may have had a long track record with Ford, campaigning Blue Oval drifters in Formula D, the X Games and the Global RallyCross Championship. He won a few medals with Nissan too. But these days he's all about the Volkswagens. He drives a Beetle in the aforementioned GRC, but is now set to return to Formula Drift with the Passat you see here. The Top Gear USA co-host's new ride is ostensibly based on the German sedan we all know, but instead of a 1.8 turbo, a V6, a TDI or even a W8, this one packs a 7.4-liter V8. That mammoth mill sends about 700 horsepower to the rear wheels through a four-speed transmission, but will churn out a good 900 hp on nitrous. In short, it should be better suited towards drifting than the Passat 4Motion this writer tried to slide so many times in his youth. The beast is sponsored once again by Rockstar Energy, and we're looking forward to watching Tanner use it to try and retake the titles he won in 2007 and 2008. Former Porsche boss Wiedeking won't face criminal charges over VW bid
Mon, 28 Apr 2014Hedge fund managers have been suing Porsche for years now, alleging that the car company lied about its intentions during its failed attempt to take over Volkswagen, a gambit that caused them billion in losses. Over the same period, authorities in Stuttgart built a criminal case against former CEO Wendelin Wiedeking (above, left) and Chief Financial Officer Holger Härter (right), filing charges in December 2012. When those fund plaintiffs lost their most recent court case, one of the dimming lights in the dark and receding tunnel was that the criminal investigation might unearth more evidence about Porsche's actions that could help the plaintiffs in pending litigation.
Bloomberg reports that another light has gone out, though, with a Stuttgart court dismissing the market manipulation case before going to trial because, as a court spokesperson said, "there wasn't enough evidence backing up the charges." When prosecutors get the files back from the court, they have a week to decide to refile, but unless they've been sandbagging evidence that could bolster the case, the only lights at the end of the tunnel will be those welcoming Wiedeking and Härter back to the world of legally unencumbered men.
Are more diesel scandals about to erupt?
Fri, Nov 20 2015More automakers may soon be embroiled, like Volkswagen, in diesel emissions scandals. According to the Daily Kanban, either the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) or the Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) will soon announce from 10 to 15 more cases of automakers cheating national diesel emissions rules. The outlet says three of the incidents are attributed to Opel. Studies conducted by the DUH, the University of Applied Sciences in Bern, Switzerland, and the UK's Leeds University found that Opel's diesel Zafira, Corsa, and Vectra models emit more NOx than European regulations allow when tested in ways that go beyond the European testing protocol, such as when done on a four-wheel rolling road instead of a two-wheel rolling road. Opel said the accusations had no merit. Specifically on the Zafira, the DUH asked Opel about the emissions findings, and Opel said that no General Motors software contains any measures to enable cheating. Opel then tested a Zafira of its own "both on a two- and a four-wheel roller dynamometer," finding that "The emission behavior determined in each case does not differ from one another." That makes this a case of he-said-she-said for the moment. The Daily Kanban's sources say the cheating methods "range from the crude to the highly sophisticated," with those at the latter end complex enough to render Volkswagen's methods "pedestrian." As for any automakers who might be named, the matter of real-world emissions exceeding a legal limit doesn't mean a carmaker has designed systems that cheat, it might mean the company designed the car to pass a test.
