I am downsizing and unfortunately do not have space to store the car.
I purchased the car 2 years ago from a classic car dealer in Virgina. I was told, the car was once owned by a local Virgina family and was supposed to be a present for the wife. She did not like the stick and they put it in a garage for their then 11 year old son to drive it when he will be old enough. He did not like the car and thus it was sold in 2012 to a VW Dealer in Virgina who sold it to the Classic Car Dealer. I am the second owner of the car. It is in mint condition. no cosmetic tricks, no shiny sprays used ever. The rims are original as the rest of the car. The trunk has no scratches or spots in the carpet. Carpet, Floor mats, radio, seats, everything is original. It has never been restored. The car has no corrosion at all. Everything in this car is original as it was delivered from VW in 1990. Everything works perfectly, Radio, AC. No oil consumption, Oil change was performed every 3K Miles. You can still see the wax/anti-corrosion treatment in the engine compartment. I did not pressure-wash the engine to show how unique this car is. This is a rare one-time opportunity. I hate to see the car go as I really loved it. I am asking for a $500 deposit via paypal. VW confirms development of 10-speed dual clutch, 134-hp/liter diesel
Fri, 26 Apr 2013Each year, the Vienna International Motor Symposium showcases some of the up-and-coming technologies automakers are engineering for the use in passenger cars, and Volkswagen AG CEO Martin Winterkorn revealed some big developments VW is working on for its future products. Winterkorn discussed a multi-faceted approach that VW is looking to reduce its fleet fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
Some of the bigger news he discussed included a "high-performance" diesel engine that will produce 134 horsepower per liter and a 10-speed DSG automatic transmission. While no specific applications were mentioned, we can only hope this is for the Audi R4 we keep hearing about.
Another topic he touched on that caused us to perk up our ears was had to do with VW's plug-in hybrid technology. While we know the PHEV versions of the Audi A3 and Porsche Panamera are on the way, Winterkorn also said that these two models will be followed up by Golf, Passat, Audi A6 and Porsche Cayenne plug-in models. New VW Beetle Convertible ad needs no disguise

Ask someone if they'd drive a hardtop in near freezing temperatures with all the windows down and they might not even answer, thinking the question so ridiculous. Give that same person a convertible they love and you might just have to ask them to please put the top up even when snow is on the ground.
That guy has to take precautions to enjoy his proclivities, and as this new ad for the Volkswagen Beetle Convertible shows, not everyone understands. Have a watch below, and note that there's just one woman in the minute-long spot, and she's nowhere near the car. Seriously, why didn't VW run this commercial during the Super Bowl?
Next Volkswagen Golf R to get 286 horsepower?
Tue, 12 Feb 2013The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf hasn't launched in the United States just yet, but we're already setting our sights on the range-topping R model. According to Autocar, the next Golf R will be more powerful than the current version, producing 268 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful production Golf ever.
Powering the new Golf R will be a further evolution of Volkswagen's well-liked 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, and when mated to a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the hotter hatch will reportedly be able to sprint to 62 miles per hour in five seconds flat. That's over half a second quicker than the current US-spec model.
Other updates for the new Golf R include the addition of VW's Haldex 5 all-wheel-drive system found in the latest iteration of 4Motion. Furthermore, thanks to the use of lightweight materials, the new R is expected to weigh in around 2,650 pounds - that's a massive 675 pounds less than the current US-spec car. The exhaust has reportedly been reworked to provide more aural delight, as well.
