1978 VW BUS "THE MOST EXTRAS AND AFTER MARKET ADD ONS AND ACCESSORIES ON A VW BUS ONLINE!"
This girl has been my love and passion over the past 4 years. I bought her in September 2009 in Tacoma, WA. The owner at that time told me he was to old to drive anymore and that he only used it on Sundays to go fishing. I 100% believe the odometer for that reason has not turned over and that the 52,970 miles as of this posting is the actual miles of the Bus. I drove her down the coast from Washington to my house in Manhattan Beach, CA. What an amazing drive on the Pacific Coast Highway! Only a VW Bus can offer that kind of breathtaking views. It was garaged at my home in Manhattan Beach for 3 years while I restored her and all the engine work and updating was done at Automeister. If you live in Southern California you know of or have been to Automeister and they are the best in the business. All interior and exterior add ons, replacements, and accessories were purchased at J Bugs, Bus Depot, and GoWesty and audio work was done at Manhattan Audio in Hermosa Beach, CA. I have all receipts and invoices for all the purchases and work done on the vehicle. I cut no corners on restoring, updating, and upgrading the bus. There is nothing you need to do after you purchase this vehicle but get in and start your own memories and adventures. Currently the VW Bus is garaged in Celebration, FL where Walt Disney World is located. I can work with you and have it loaded on a truck to be shipped to you(I recommend Red Carpet Transporters). I can also meet you in the Tampa Bay/ Orlando area. The pictures and video pretty much say it all about this VW Bus. For fun over the last 4 years I look on ebay to look at other bus's and I have not seen one other bus with all the extras I have put into mine. I have a perfect rating on ebay for over 16 years so bid and buy with complete confidence. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. My facebook page is Brandon Dean Tecklenburg and I have a couple photo albums with just the VW Bus pictures so feel free to friend me so you can look at more pictures. I have also added 3 youtube videos so you can view and listen to more information on the Bus: http://youtu.be/REw_xLqGIKY http://youtu.be/6wiTdzaatCg http://youtu.be/ECeRB7lL31s VW BUS from 2010 to 2013 has had these updates, upgrades and new parts: new clarion stereo system with fm/am/cd/aux/usb with xm/sirius ready stereo new steering horn new front seat floor mat new interior glove box new passenger door handle new front seat visors new front rear and side view mirrors new two drink cup holder where ash tray used to be new stick shift new westybox/storage box that goes in between front seats for a third seat front dash a/c vents or fresh air vents bus is outfitted for air conditioning, just needs new condenser. newly put in two more cigarette lighters in the dash for power outlets two electric heaters for camping long power cord to hook up when camping to electric outlet brand new padding and carpet tv/dvd combo with digital cable box and antenna working sink, furnace, two burner stove, ice box snow tire chains jumper cables battery jumper two new matching thorw pillows coleman propane tanks to use for furnance/ stove/ or bbq grill bbq grill for out door grilling two oscillating fans that plug into outlets 800 watt power outlet 400 watt power outlet marine battery and relay switch for drying camping and tailgating 4 coleman lanterns extra high mileage quarts of oil 12 x 12 green tent to go right outside of bus green tarp for outdoor flooring original green curtain to wrap around bay windows to block sun and for privacy. front tire cover vw bus table tailgating grill set key gas lock new oil cooler new cooler seals new dip stick boot new exhaust gaskets new turn signal switch all new cv joints new nose cone new axle boot kit new engine compartment seal new shift bushing new shocks new suspension and alignment new fuel hose new fuel filter new clamps and shock bolt new water pump and switch new fresh air hoses new muffler new westfalia tent new interior head board/ headliner thru out the bus new hankook tires new california legal catalytic converter new alternator new regulator exterior touch up paint original owners manual all receipts and invoices to be given to new owner I will accept full payment and it must be cleared before Bus title and keys are handed over. Volkswagen could build plug-in hybrids in China
Sun, Apr 6 2014When you're Europe's largest automaker and your largest global market happens to be the one most notorious for its pollution (China), some solutions just present themselves. Volkswagen may be heeding that call. During the upcoming Beijing Motor Show, the company is expected to announce plans to produce plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in China, Reuters says, citing sources within the company. Few details have emerged, though the plug-ins will likely be produced at VW's Foshan factory in South China, which currently makes the Golf and Audi A3 and has plans to eventually make 600,000 vehicles annually. News has been percolating for a while, as Oliver Schmidt, general manager engineering and environmental office for Volkswagen Group of America, said last March that the company was planning at least two plug-in hybrid lines under the VW badge (and another three with its Audi and Porsche affiliates), including possibly a Touareg and Jetta PHEV. VW said late last month that it was looking to speed up development of "particularly eco-friendly models" made by Shanghai Volkswagen as well as developing a "new, very eco-friendly vehicle" with First Automotive Works (FAW). Earlier this year, VW unveiled its Golf GTE plug-in hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show. That model has a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to provide 201 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The car can travel as many as 81 miles on electric power alone.
Volkswagen Golf Wagon caught completely uncovered
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Without a lot of information to go with them, our camera-toting spies have captured some new images of a Volkswagen Golf wagon variant that is almost completely undisguised. In fact, the one piece of camouflage on the tidy wagon would probably have gone unnoticed to most casual viewers. Look closely at the rear three-quarter view of the car and you'll notice that the apparent taillight clusters are actually fakes - the outline of the real units is faintly visible behind the blue bodywork and the sticker-like fake taillights.
It's a good guess then, that this Golf wagon (called a Golf Kombi by our spy photographer) is a prototype that's pretty far along in the development cycle for Volkswagen. We can't be sure what impact this will have on the company's small wagon offering here in the US, but we'd be pretty surprised if something very like this didn't end up as the next Jetta SportWagen. We might well have more information on that front, after we visit Geneva next week.
Import pickup truck-killing Chicken Tax to be repealed?
Tue, Jun 30 2015After over 50 years, the so-called Chicken Tax may finally be going the way of the dodo. Two pending trade deals with countries in the Pacific Rim and Europe potentially could open the US auto market up to imported trucks, if the measures pass. Although, it still might be a while before you can own that Volkswagen Amarok or Toyota Hilux, if ever. The 25-percent import tariff that the Chicken Tax imposes on foreign trucks essentially makes the things all but impossible to sell one profitably in the US, which lends a distinct advantage to domestic pickups. Both the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 12 counties and Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership with the European Union would finally end the charge. According to Automotive News though, don't expect new pickups to flood the market, at least not immediately. These deals might roll back the tariff gradually over time, and in the case of Japan, it could be as long as 25 years before fully free trade. Furthermore, Thailand, a major truck builder in Asia, isn't currently part of the deal, and any new models here would still need to meet safety and emissions rules, as well. Automotive News gauged the very early intentions of several automakers with foreign-built trucks, and they weren't necessarily champing at the bit to start imports. Toyota thinks the Hilux sits between the Tundra and Tacoma, and Mazda doesn't think the BT-50 fits its image here. Also, VW doesn't necessarily want to bring the Amarok over from Hannover. There is previous precedent for companies at least considering bringing in pickup trucks after the Chicken Tax's demise, though. The Pacific free trade deal could be done as soon as this fall, while the EU one is likely further out, according to Automotive News. Given enough time, the more accessible ports could allow some new trucks to enter the market.
