Vw Bus 13 Window Walk Through Microbus With Own. Manuals And Service Booklet on 2040-cars
Tiffin, Ohio, United States
You are bidding on my pride and joy 1965 walk through bus. I had planned on restoring this beauty, but 3 kids later I don't see this happening in the near future. I want it to go to someone who will appreciate as much as me and my kids. The bus comes with the original owners manual and service booklet. It has a clear Ohio title. Someone that i knew owned the bus and his daughters ran it out of oil in 1972. As a punishment their father put it in their building and let it sit until i rescued it in approximately 2005. It has been in my garage since, with the exception of trips to the VW mechanic.
It is a Project 13 window Deluxe Microbus (Gus the Bus). This bus has all parts. The rear bumber is bent and not attached to the bus. The original engine is sitting in the bus. We replaced it with an engine from a 1973 beetle and converted it to 12 volt. It needs an ignition lock cylinder, unless i am able to locate the keys. They are around here somewhere. It needs brakes. It does roll and turn freely. This bus does run and run well. It also has a brand new exhaust system. The engine that is in it has been gone through by a Volkswagen mechanic and is solid. I tried to take lots of photos please feel free to ask me questions. Pick up only in Ohio. Cash accepted. Cashiers check, title released upon clearance by my bank. |

Volkswagen CrossBlue previews a three-row future, diesel-hybrid power [w/video]
Mon, 14 Jan 2013Volkswagen looks to be getting ready to jump into the large three-row crossover game. The automaker has officially pulled back the curtain on the CrossBlue Concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
Designers and engineers penned the machine specifically for the Canadian and US markets, and with a plug-in diesel electric hybrid drivetrain, the hulking five-door, at least in concept form, should offer substantially better efficiency than anything else on the market. The drivetrain pairs a 2.0-liter turbo diesel four-cylinder engine with two electric motors for a combined output of 305 horsepower and a ludicrous 516 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed dual-clutch gearbox handles shifting detail, while one electric motor spins the front wheels. The second motor spins the back axle independently, make the CrossBlue a through-the-road hybrid.
As a result, the crossover can pop to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. Perhaps more impressively, the CrossBlue can whir around on all-electric propulsion for up to 14 miles at up to 75 mph. Once the diesel four kicks in, the drivetrain can yield up to 39 mpg, though Volkswagen says the hardware can hit 89 MPGe on a full charge thanks to a 9.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
