This little truck was purchased 23 years ago by my wife and I in SanAntonio,Texas. We used it daily for many years .We bought from original who worked at north loop VW,it was used for work for some time with he and us.It finally came out of storage 3 years ago,we had all the paint removed and had repainted in the orange sherbet and french vanilla you see, originally sealing wax red (salmon). Many of the panels are original to it.We had the finest materials applied to it,to make sure it would last many years to come. All new brakes, wheel cylinders, shoes and hardware,Front beam is original and stock and replaced with new parts.Trans is rebuilt and still retains the reduction boxes.Motor has been replaced with a 1775 dual port, dual weber carbs, alternator, new sheet metal, electric fuel pump, most everything on the motor is new,its only been driver a couple of miles at this time..The interior doors ,floor, roof ,etc.. have been dynamated for sound deadening.Stainless safaris installed, all new glass everywhere as well as all seals. We made a point to locate the best stuff we could find to ensure years of enjoyment.BRM wheels at all four corners sitting on BFG radials, and new radial shocks. It rides better than it ever did.It still needs some tuning and it has a couple of small little dings that i can show ya.Were still installing parts as we write, bought an overhead gauge console, cup holder,antenna,ETC...I can answer any and all questions as best as possible,.Persons with zero feedback must call to bid,so we dont have problems.A 500 dollar deposit is due within 48 hrs. of auction end.i can assist with shipping arrangements if necessary.Truck is for sale locally so i reserve the right to end auction at any time.thanks for looking,im sure theres more i missed so please call 989-506-1956

VW makes $23K on every Porsche sold, more than Bentley or Lamborghini
Fri, 14 Mar 2014It's a good time to be in the luxury car business. In Volkswagen Group's financial report for the 2013 fiscal year, it is revealed that that Porsche enjoyed an operating margin of 18 percent. That means the Stuttgart brand made on average about $23,200 per car sold, according to BusinessWeek. Bentley wasn't far behind, and Audi (which was combined with Lamborghini) posted a 10.1 percent margin. This compares to only around 2.9 percent for the Volkswagen brand.
"Luxury brands are on fire," said Dave Sullivan, an industry analyst at AutoPacific. He said that the average profit margin is between six and eight percent. Brands like Porsche and Bentley have the benefit of competing in rarefied markets. Buyers looking at one their vehicles have fewer models to shop against and don't care as much about price. They can also charge more for options, which further boosts income, according to BusinessWeek.
In a way, we should be more impressed by the continued success from Audi. Its models generally have direct competitors in every segment from the other premium automakers. Plus, their buyers aren't the captains of industry who are shopping for a Bentley. Still, the Four Rings is leading rivals in sales so far this year.
Volkswagen's latest ad is not subtle | Autoblog Podcast #509
Fri, Mar 24 2017On this week's podcast, Mike Austin and David Gluckman are joined by special guest James Riswick, who has been driving a lot of new cars lately. All of them are discussed, plus a few more from Mike and David, and Mike rants a bit about a new VW Atlas commercial. The episode wraps up with the traditional doling out of Spend My Money buying advice, during which David briefly goes out into left field. (He's back now, don't worry.) The rundown is below. Remember, if you have a car-related question you'd like us to answer or you want buying advice of your very own, send a message or a voice memo to podcast at autoblog dot com. (If you record audio of a question with your phone and get it to us, you could hear your very own voice on the podcast. Neat, right?) VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
