THIS IS A ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS CAMPER BUS! IT HAS RECENTLY BEEN GONE THROUGH EXTENSIVELY, BEGINNING WITH THE DISMANTLING OF A VERY STRAIGHT, RUST FREE ORIGINAL BUS. THIS WAS NOT A RUST BUCKET THAT HAD TO BE CUT UP AND PATCHED BACK TOGETHER, RATHER A VERY NICE SURVIVOR THAT NEEDED A REFRESH AFTER A LONG STORAGE.

WE BEGAN BY DISMANTLING THE BUS DOWN TO ITS BARE SHELL. ALL WINDOWS WERE REMOVED; ALL LIGHTS AND TRIM, ALL HANDLES AND HARDWARE ALONG WITH ALL DOOR RUBBER SEALS ECT. IT WAS THEN PROFESSIONALLY PREPPED AND PAINTED  ITS ORIGINAL CHIANTI RED WITH CLOUD WHITE ROOF AND BUMPERS. THE PAINT WAS LAYED ON THICK AND THEN BUFFED TO AN AMAZING SMOOTH FINISH.

THE CLASSIC UPHOLSTERY DESIGN WAS CUSTOM MADE FOR THIS BUS AND LOOKS FANTASTIC!! THE ENTIRE WESTFALIA INTERIOR IS BRAND NEW AND CUSTOM MADE BY VDUB CLASSICS OF VENTURA CA. THE QUALITY AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS UNMATCHED. THE FLOOR PLAN HAS A DELETED CLOSET CABINET TO ALLOW FOR A FULL WIDTH BENCH SEAT THAT FOLDS OUT TO A NICE FULL WIDTH BED FOR TWO ADULTS TO SLEEP COMFORTABLY, IT MAKES FOR A NICE OPEN FEEL AND NO LONGER HAS THE TERRIBLE BLIND SPOT THAT THE CLOSET CAUSES.

AFTER PAINT, WE METICULOUSLY RE ASSEMBLED THE BUS WITH ALL NEW WINDOW RUBBER, TRIM AND WINDOW CHANNEL FELT. ALL DOORS AND HATCHES RECEIVED NEW GERMAN RUBBER SEALS FOR A NICE QUIET WEATHERPROOF RIDE. ALL LIGHT LENSES WERE REPLACED WITH NEW. BRAND NEW CHROME TRIM FOR LIGHTS AND FRONT EMBLEM. NEW WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND NEW STEREO WITH USB INPUT FOR YOU IPAD OR PHONE

THE ORIGINAL REBUILT 1600 ENGINE RUNS EXCELLENT AND PUSHES THE BUS DOWN THE ROAD NICELY. BRAKE SYSTEM HAS BEEN FLUSHED AND ALL SOFT LINES, WHEEL CYLINDERS, AND BRAKE SHOES HAVE BEEN REPLACED, THEY WORK GREAT! THE STEERING IS NICE AND TIGHT AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS PROPERLY THROUGH ALL THE GEARS. THE WIRING HAS BEEN SORTED OUT WITH ALL LIGHTS WORKING PROPERLY INSIDE AND OUT AND ALL 4 TIRES WERE JUST REPLACED WITH BRAND NEW!!

THIS IS A VERY NICE LOOKING AND DRIVING BUS, YOU’LL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. PLEASE CHECK MY FEED BACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE. GOOD LUCK!!

Rimac is reportedly close to buying Bugatti from the Volkswagen Group

Thu, Sep 17 2020

Croatia-based Rimac is finalizing a deal to purchase Bugatti from the Volkswagen Group, according to an unverified report. If the rumor is accurate, the sale would propel Rimac to the top of the automotive industry, guarantee that Bugatti's future is electric, and mark the beginning of Volkswagen's efforts to divest its empire. Executives in Wolfsburg gave the deal the green light in September 2020, according to anonymous sources who spoke to British magazine Car, but the company's supervisory board hasn't approved it yet. Selling the French company isn't as simple as sending company founder Mate Rimac an email with an account number. Insiders explained Volkswagen would likely trade Bugatti and all of its assets for a significant stake in Rimac that would be transferred directly to Porsche, which already owns 15.5% of the brand. Officials hope to increase that figure to about 49%, meaning Bugatti is theoretically worth about 33.5% of Rimac, which was founded in 2009. Bugatti told Autoblog it can't comment on speculation. Mate Rimac gave us a similar answer. Rumors of a Bugatti sale have hovered around the automotive industry for several years, and they've never materialized. In theory, spinning off the brand would be relatively easy because it's not as deeply integrated into the Volkswagen Group as its sister companies. It doesn't share its W16 engine with another carmaker, for example. And yet, Car speculates Lamborghini, SEAT, ItalDesign, Bentley, and Ducati will also be sold in the coming years, leaving Volkswagen with its namesake division, Skoda, Audi, Porsche, Scania, and MAN. Volkswagen is having an estate sale to fund the development of electric, autonomous, and digital technologies. Its downsizing will send ripples through the auto industry. Porsche could move upmarket if it doesn't have to worry about stepping on Lamborghini's toes, for example. Spinoffs are always risky, so some companies may not survive if they're not bolstered by economies of scale. As of writing, there's no word on who will pick up the brands being divested under this scenario. And, keep in mind none of this is official. Volkswagen hasn't commented on the report. We'll update this developing story as more information becomes available.

VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes

Sun, 06 Jan 2013

The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.

Chrysler recalls 112k family-haulers over airbag controllers

Sun, Feb 7 2016

The Basics: Chrysler has issued a recall for an array of minivans and crossovers manufactured in 2007 and 2008. The models affected include the 2009 Dodge Journey, 2008-09 Dodge Grand Caravan, and 2008-09 Chrysler Town and Country. The 2009 Volkswagen Routan, which was manufactured by Chrysler, is also being recalled by FCA. The automaker estimates that 112,001 units in the United States are affected, all told. The Problem: Corrosion in the air bag control unit could prevent the air bags from deploying in the event of a crash, or alternatively deploy prematurely. Chrysler points out that "none of the affected vehicles are equipped with ammonium-nitrate inflators" like those fitted by Takata. Injuries/Deaths: The manufacturer reports seven minor injuries (but no accidents) potentially related to this issue. The fix: Chrysler will replace the air bag control unit, though it has not yet outlined a timeframe for doing so. If you own one: Look for a recall notice in the mail and then schedule service with your local dealership. If you don't receive one, you can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 and reference recall number S07. Related Video: RECALL Subject : Air Bag Control Unit Power Supply Corrosion Report Receipt Date: JAN 29, 2016 NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V047000 Component(s): AIR BAGS Potential Number of Units Affected: 112,001 Manufacturer: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) SUMMARY: FCA US LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2009 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured December 31, 2007, to August 31, 2008, 2008-2009 Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles manufactured June 18, 2007, to August 31, 2008, and 2009 Volkswagen Routan vehicles manufactured August 11, 2008, to August 31, 2008. In the affected vehicles, the air bag control units may corrode and fail. CONSEQUENCE: If the air bag control unit fails, the air bags may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury. Additionally, the air bags may inadvertently deploy, increasing the risk of a crash. REMEDY: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the air bag control unit, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S07.
