This camper was originally purchased in Tennessee by a couple who were enlisted in the military. They shipped this van with them around the world as they served and toured with their family, they would take her out for weekend camping trips.  They were meticulous in maintaining this vehicle to the extent of strict tire rotation schedule, garage kept, and perfectly maintained.  ALWAYS garage kept and always clean although they did manage to get a dent in the passenger side rear while driving in Turkey, and a smaller dent in the drivers side rear wheel arch while in Italy (see pics).

It comes with:
35watt folding solar panel with Charge Controller to maintain the battery while camping.
Upgraded LED interior lights use very little energy!

Modern side tent that connects to the sliding door  and has a separate awning from the tent.

The previous owners took amazing care of this van. Any time the van needed repairs it was taken care of.  OG Paint in Excellent Condition, No wrecks. Garaged since new,  This is a one owner van.... Near mint interior.  The odometer reads 175k but it has a newer engine and many new parts and was maintained by a competent VW mechanic here in Cocoa Beach.   Has brand new BF Goodrich AT tires last month for a nice solid ride.  Propane tank it is good working order and has an extension hose for attaching to a remote LPG tank if you prefer.  Also comes with a newer drive up tent and solar setup for camping.

Paint Body - Original paint in excellent condition with only a few minor dings and scratches, chips (see pics).  Absolutely no rust or seam rust. The original under coat is in good condition with some spots flaking but no corrosion under it anywhere.   The original decals are peeling but i haven't the heart to remove them.

Engine/Transmission - Newer 1.9 liter motor installed 3 years ago according to original owner and verified by the local VW mechanic who worked on it.  The manual transmission is in great working order and shifts perfectly. This van was meticulously maintained. The van runs and drives like new.

Interior - The interior in this Vanagon is in near mint condition and still looks new, only minor peeling on panels and has a hole in the back interior panel (see pics) and the sliding door panel has been replaced with a new panel. The seats and carpet are in excellent condition with only tears in drivers seat, all cabinets look like new. Dual swivel seats,  rear table and factory camping accessories included. All curtains in great shape. I have the original rear hatch bug screen, newer sliding door screen, 2 magnetic front window screens, and front window and slider door curtains. The camp stove is excellent condition and the Dometic fridge runs perfect on Propane or 120v.  The water tank is clean and a newer water pump installed.

Pop Top - The pop top is in excellent condition. the ceiling does not have the typical mildew staining common on Westfalias. The upper bunk is in excellent condition as well.

Other - 35watt folding Solar panel with regulator and axillary battery with auto connect for charge mode.

Vahland leaving VW over dispute on how to run NA region

Wed, Oct 14 2015

On November 1, Winfried Vahland was supposed to take over Volkswagen Group's recently created North American region that combines Canada, the US, and Mexico. But the longtime exec has instead decided to leave the automaker after a dispute over how to manage the new combined region. Vahland is currently the boss at Skoda, and in a statement about his departure the Czech company said: "Differing views on the organization of the new Group region have led to this decision; this decision is expressly not related to current events on the issue of diesel engines." Vahland is leaving at his own request, the announcement says. Vahland was appointed to run to North American region during VW's massive corporate shakeup on September 25. The decision was part of the automaker's plan to put a greater emphasis on regions and brands, rather than on centralized authority. According to Automotive News Europe citing a report from Germany's Auto Bild, Vahland was passed over for the CEO job, with Matthias Muller taking that position. Amidst the changes, Michael Horn remained at the helm of Volkswagen Group of America, reporting to the new regional boss. Vahland joined the automaker in 1990 and started running VW's operations in China in 2005. He became boss at Skoda in 2010. "In the last 25 years, Prof. Vahland made a great contribution to the company. We respect his decision and thank him for his exceptional performance," Muller said in the departure announcement. Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland leaves Volkswagen Group 14.10.2015 Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland leaves Volkswagen Group Mlada Boleslav, 14 October 2015 – After 25 years of successful work in Volkswagen Group, most recently as Chairman of SKODA, Prof. Dr. Winfried Vahland is leaving the company at his own request. Prof. Vahland will therefore not be taking up the position of overall responsibility for the North American Region (NAR). Differing views on the organisation of the new Group region have led to this decision; this decision is expressly not related to current events on the issue of diesel engines. Prof. Vahland began his work in Volkswagen Group in 1990. After holding several key positions at home and abroad, he took over Group responsibility as President and CEO of Volkswagen in China in 2005 and contributed significantly to the successful new direction of Volkswagen in China. He was appointed Chairman of the Board of Management of SKODA in 2010.

Volkswagen e-Co-Motion concept poised for delivery to Geneva

Sat, 02 Mar 2013

With Nissan getting ready to launch the e-NV200, it appears Volkswagen is looking to go after the same zero-emission commercial vehicle market with the all-electric 2013 e-Co-Motion Concept. Debuting next week at the Geneva Motor Show, the e-Co-Motion Concept might be small in size, but VW says it has cargo and payload capacities that should be perfect for small businesses.
Measuring 179 inches long, 75 inches wide and 77 inches tall, the e-Co-Motion Concept has about the same footprint as the current Golf, and it has a cargo capacity of 162 cubic feet and a maximum payload of more than 1,700 pounds. There isn't too much information on the e-Co-Motion just yet - such as what electric components and platform are used - but the press release posted below states while the concept is shown as a cargo van, future body styles could include a passenger wagon or a refrigerated box van.

Volkswagen officially grants access to UAW in Tennessee

Tue, Dec 9 2014

An audit at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga, TN has revealed that at least 45 percent of the facility's workers support unionization, leading the German company to grant access rights to the United Auto Workers. This is a tremendous step in the UAW's long-running and at times contentious pursuit of the workforce at Chattanooga. With this latest move, "local leadership is ready to move forward with additional conversations with the company," the union said in a statement obtained by The Detroit News. "As a starting point, UAW Local 42 will take advantage of the company's offer to establish bi-weekly meetings with Volkswagen Human Resources and the Volkswagen Chattanooga Executive Committee." The News reports that UAW Secretary-Treasurer Gary Casteel, shown above speaking at the Chattanooga plant last summer, claimed these meetings "will remind Human Resources and the Chattanooga Executive Committee of the mutually agreed-upon commitments that were made by Volkswagen and the UAW last spring in Germany. Among those commitments: Volkswagen will recognize the UAW as the representative of our members. We believe Volkswagen made this commitment in good faith and we believe the company will honor this commitment." It's important to note that despite Casteel's remarks, this is not a collective-bargaining agreement, Harley Shaiken, a labor professor at University of California, Berkeley, told The News. "But it is a step in the direction of recognition, which ultimately could lead to collective bargaining. This is not the end point," Shaiken said. "We don't know what's next. We're in unchartered territory."
