This van was purchased by my father for weekend fishing trips; unfortunately it got too hard for him to get in and out of, so he has decided to sell it (Bad knees) In 10 months it has only been to the
garage for fuel, and winter servicing. (Fresh tune-up, Oil change, and Antifreeze). The van is quite useable as is. No major dents or rust. Absolutely no rust in wheelwells or undercarridge.
Engine is clean and quiet. fuel Cap. 15gal. w/ 2.5 gal. reserve. Self adjusting Hyd. Lifters. Electronic Ignition. 4 main bearing engine. After sitting most of winter, it started with a single turn of the key. Transmission and clutch are smooth and in good condition. The vehicle was purchased from
a family who used it for everyday transportation. The engine has been rebuilt about 10,000 miles ago and the clutch was also replaced at that time. Has new radiator. In general there is very minimal exterior noise; Window and door gaskets all seal well. She`s ready to go down the Interstate I-25 or I-40. There are a few stone chips in paint between upper and lower front
grills. Tires and rims and brakes are excellent with very good spare (stored under vehicle). Overall the van is in excellent condition and would make great family transportation, or an easy camper conversion. (Camper conversion kits)
are available from many aftermarket sources-From basic inexpensive models to luxury kits and anywhere in between. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. If needed
I can try to send more high resolution jpeg files. (Please check out pictures they can tell more than words)

TN politicians may push to end VW incentives if plant goes union
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Volkswagen's Chattanooga Assembly Plant is scheduled to vote on whether to unionize in the coming days, but Tennessee state lawmakers are threatening to deny future tax subsidies to the factory, if the vote is successful. The factory is currently the only Volkswagen plant worldwide that is not unionized.
The states's Republican lawmakers have been particularly vocal against the union vote. Tennessee state senator Bo Watson said during a press conference that VW would have a "very tough time" with future incentives if the vote were successful, according to Automotive News. Tennessee House Majority Leader Gerald McCormick said the "heavy hand" of the UAW is not welcome there. VW has drawn criticism from both sides because it has allowed both pro- and anti-union groups to speak to workers and hand out leaflets.
Roughly 1,500 factory employees will vote on whether to unionize from February 12-14. If successful, the Chattanooga factory would be the first in the US organized under a German-style works council system where white- and blue-collar workers directly negotiate factory issues with the company's management.
Lamando is Chinese for VW Jetta CC [w/video]
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Volkswagen is not messing around when it characterizes its new MQB architecture as modular. It's already underpinning the VW Golf, Audi A3, Seat Leon and Skoda Octavia, and will soon form the basis for many more. And here is the latest.
Unveiled at the Chengdu Motor Show in China this weekend is the new Volkswagen Lamando, a four-door coupe similar in size to a Jetta but with the svelter roofline of the larger Passat-based CC to go after the Mercedes-Benz CLA. It's essentially the production version of the New Midsize Coupe concept that previewed its arrival at the Beijing Motor Show this past April, and will be built locally for local consumption by VW's joint venture with SAIC.
Power comes from either a 1.4- or 2.0-liter turbo four mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, with an equivalent price tag below $30,000. Whether this or any similar vehicle ever arrives in North American showrooms remains to be seen, but we'll be watching to find out. In the meantime you can scope it out in the trippy video below and the photos in the gallery above.
Porsche again staring down another $1.8B in hedge fund lawsuits
Wed, 15 May 2013The sequence of events from 2007 that began with Porsche's secret attempt to take over Volkswagen, and instead lead to Porsche being taken over by VW, continues to instigate lawsuits against the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer. A group of hedge funds that suffered over $1 billion in losses sued the car company in New York. Porsche had publicly stated it wasn't trying to buy VW, the hedge funds in question were shorting VW stock, and when Porsche's actual intentions were revealed, the stock shot up and the hedge funds took a beating.
The case was thrown out over the issue of jurisdiction, then appealed, only to see another suit filed on top of that. After that, most of the hedge funds withdrew their claims in New York and Porsche offered a 90-day window to refile in Germany where it is already fighting a number of other suits over the same issue. The hedge funds accepted the offer, refiling in Stuttgart for $1.8 billion in damages. According to Bloomberg, Porsche hasn't commented on the refiling, but as the same plaintiffs are involved, it's safe to assume that the carmaker still feels the case is "unsubstantiated and without merit." It has fared alright so far even in German courts, with two lesser cases against it thrown out last year.
