History: This may not be the one the little old lady just drove to church on Sunday but it is the one the minister drove to church and across the United States to visit family. My grandfather, the original owner, purchased the Vanagon almost 30 years ago from Century Motors Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. The Vanagon has been a staple in my grandparents lifestyle for the last 30 years. The vanagon has made many trips to visit kids, grand kids and even some great grand kids. We have all enjoyed a camping trip or taking it canoeing. There have been a lot of great memories along the way for the first owners, due to senior expenses it is not time to pass it onto the second owner.
Condition: Over the last 30 years this vehicle has been well maintained. I have tried to document the interior and exterior condition in pictures. It was service most if it's life at a VW dealership until they no longer had a tech with the skills to work on the model. Then a retire tech from the dealership serviced it out of his own garage. The vanagon runs well, doesn't seem to leak any fluids. The engine was replaced at 220xxx miles and we have recently had the clutch serviced and a new alternator installed (over $600.00 receipt will be provided to high bidder) The interior is very good condition for it's age (see pictures) right down to the original VW floor mats. The exterior does have some small dents and dings, surface rust and the back bumper is wavy probably due to pulling canoes. Items I know that do not work include the A/C. and the hoses coming out of the windshield fluid wiper tank seem to leak, they probably just need replaced.
Features: Include, pop up roof w/double bed, refrigerator, propane stove, stainless steel sink, electrical hook-ups (none of these have not been used for a while) There are also two tables that came with the vanagon, lots of cabinet and store space. We are also including the original window sticker, WV manuals and manuals for the stove and other items.
Onsite Inspection: Please feel free to make arrangements via email for an onsite inspection. We are located 1 hour from Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus, OH.

Carmakers ask Trump to revisit fuel efficiency rules
Mon, Feb 13 2017Car companies operating in the US are required to meet stringent fuel efficiency standards (a fleet average of 54.5MPG) through 2025, but they're hoping to loosen things now that President Trump is in town. Leaders from Fiat Chrysler, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Toyota and VW have sent a letter to Trump asking him to rethink the Obama administration's choice to lock in efficiency guidelines for the next several years. The car makers want to revisit the midterm review for the 2025 commitment in hopes of loosening the demands. They claim that the tougher requirements raise costs, don't match public buying habits and will supposedly put "as many a million" jobs up in the air. The Trump administration hasn't specifically responded to the letter, although Environmental Protection Agency nominee Scott Pruitt had said he would return to the Obama-era decision. The automakers' argument doesn't entirely hold up. While the EPA did estimate that the US would fall short of efficiency goals due to a shift toward SUVs and trucks, the job claims are questionable. Why would making more fuel efficient vehicles necessarily cost jobs instead of pushing companies to do better? As it is, even a successful attempt to loosen guidelines may only have a limited effect. All of the brands mentioned here are pushing for greater mainstream adoption of electric vehicles within the next few years -- they may meet the Obama administration's expectations just by shifting more drivers away from gas power.
