1982 Volkswagen Vanagon l Westfalia Campmobile on 2040-cars
Petaluma, California, United States
THIS 1982 VOLKSWAGEN VANAGON L WESTFALIA CAMPMOBILE IS
POWERED BY A FUEL INJECTED, 2.0 L ENGINE AND MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE VEHICLE
IS IN VERY CLEAN, ORIGINAL CONDITION THROUGHOUT. THERE ARE VERY FEW VANAGONS AS
NICE AS THIS DRY, TEXAS
WESTFALIA.
THE FRAME IS STRAIGHT AND SOLID AND SHOWS NO SIGNS OF RUST
OR COLLISION DAMAGE. THE FLOOR BOARDS ARE RUST FREE AND IN GOOD SHAPE. ALL THE HINGE AND DOOR SILL AREAS ARE IN LIKE
NEW CONDITION. EVEN THE ORIGINAL SERIAL NUMBER STICKER IS STILL ON THE DRIVERS
DOOR JAMB. THE VEHICLES ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND REST OF THE
DRIVETRAIN ARE IN GOOD /TOP FORM TO EXCELLENT CONDITION. HOWEVER, LIKE ALL
VANAGON CAMPERS, ABOUT $500 -$800 MAINTENANCE IS CALLED FOR. AND THE
PRICING/RESERVE HAS BEEN SET WELL BELOW THIS IN ORDER FOR THE NEW OWNER TO
BENEFIT FROM THE PURCHASE AS-IS. THE AIR CONDITIONING IS PRESENT, BUT THE MOTOR IS DISCONNECTED, THE BRAKES NEED SERVICING AND CV AXLES NEED MAINTENANCE, AND ONE OF
THE MOTOR SEALS ( MOST LIKELY VALVE COVER GASKET) IS LEAKING A SLIGHT AMOUNT OF OIL. THE ODOMETER
STOPPED FUNCTIONING JUST RECENTLY, HOWEVER THE MILEAGE READING OF 124K SEEMS TO
CORRELATE WITH THE CONDITION OF THIS WESTFALIA. ONE OF THE ITEMS THAT MAKES THIS VEHICLE TRULY STAND OUT IS
THAT IT STILL SPORTS THE ONE YEAR ORIGINAL TO WESTFALIA ONLY, FACTORY BLUE
PAINT. THIS COLOR IS CONSIDERED BY MANY TO BE ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC AND
ATTRACTIVE COLOR EVER OFFERED ON A VANAGON. THE MAJOR EXTERIOR BODY PANELS ARE
STRAIGHT AND PROPERLY ALIGNED WITH GOOD, GAP FIT AROUND ALL THE DOORS AND
HATCHES. THERE ARE SOME SCRATCHES AND SCRAPES ON THE PAINT BUT THAT IS TO BE
EXPECTED FOR THE YEAR/MILEAGE. THE FACTORY ORIGNAL INTERIOR SHOWS THE SAME QUALITY AS THE
REST OF THE VEHICLE. THE INTERIOR UPHOLSTERY AND TRIM PANELS ARE ALL IN
EXCELLENT TO GOOD CONDITION. THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT THIS VECHILE HAS BEEN WELL
TAKEN CARE OF THROUGHOUT ITS LIFE. THE POP TOP FUNCTIONS EASILY AND FLAWLESSLY AND THE TENT HAS
NO RIPS OR TEARS. ALL THE APPLIANCES FUCTION AS THEY SHOULD AND THERE IS A HIGH
END ECLIPSE FOUR SPEAKER STEREO SYSTEM WITH DUAL AMPLIFIERS. THE TIRES HAVE PLENTY OF TREAD AND IT HAS AN OPTIONAL TRAILER HITCH. I HAVE DONE MY BEST TO BE AS ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE , AND THE WESTFALIA IS AVAILABLE FOR PRE- PURCHASE INSPECTION PRIOR TO BIDDING IN PETALUMA CALIFORNIA:

2018 Buick Regal TourX vs. wagon competitors: How it compares on paper
Wed, Jan 31 2018To the great joy of auto enthusiasts nationwide, wagons are back! Well, at least there's a few more of them. The latest is the 2018 Buick Regal TourX, which we just had our first drive of and found to actually be quite good with pleasant handling, solid power and plenty of space. But, how does the TourX compare to other cladded wagons? Well, let's dive into the specs and fire up the ol' spreadsheet maker for Buick Regal TourX vs Subaru Outback vs Audi A4 Allroad vs VW Alltrack vs Volvo V60 Cross Country. True, some are from mainstream brands and others are from luxury marques, but Buick straddles both realms, so it's appropriate to look at them all. Of course, there's more to these cars than just the numbers, but they're still important, and in the case of this class of crossover-aping wagons, can vary more than you'd expect. So check out the specs in the chart below, which are followed by more analysis and photos of each. Discover and compare other wagons and crossovers with our Car Finder and Compare tools. Engines and Transmissions When comparing powertrains, the Buick is far-and-away the winner as far as torque is concerned, and is in a nearly three-way tie for horsepower. Its 295 pound-feet of torque is 22 lb-ft more twist than the next-most-grunty Audi A4 Allroad. And in regards to power, the Buick's 250-horsepower engine is only down 6 hp to the most-powerful Subaru and its optional naturally aspirated flat-six, and just 2 hp less than the Audi. At the bottom of the pack is the Subaru Outback with the standard naturally aspirated flat-four, which only makes 174 hp and 174 lb-ft of torque. That may not seem too bad compared with the VW Golf Alltrack, which only makes 170 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque, but the VW is much lighter by between 200 and 300 pounds. Transmission-wise, there's quite a bit of variation in the group. The Regal TourX and the Volvo V60 Cross Country rely on eight-speed automatics, all Outbacks use CVTs, and the Alltrack and Allroad have dual-clutch automated manual transmissions with six and seven gears, respectively. But for people that want to shift for themselves, the only option is the Volkswagen, which offers a traditional six-speed manual transmission on the Golf Alltrack. Cargo and Interior Space One of the main reasons to buy a wagon is for the body style's large cargo capacity. And for the most space for things and stuff, you'll want to check out the Subaru and the Buick.
Volkswagen e-Co-Motion concept poised for delivery to Geneva
Sat, 02 Mar 2013With Nissan getting ready to launch the e-NV200, it appears Volkswagen is looking to go after the same zero-emission commercial vehicle market with the all-electric 2013 e-Co-Motion Concept. Debuting next week at the Geneva Motor Show, the e-Co-Motion Concept might be small in size, but VW says it has cargo and payload capacities that should be perfect for small businesses.
Measuring 179 inches long, 75 inches wide and 77 inches tall, the e-Co-Motion Concept has about the same footprint as the current Golf, and it has a cargo capacity of 162 cubic feet and a maximum payload of more than 1,700 pounds. There isn't too much information on the e-Co-Motion just yet - such as what electric components and platform are used - but the press release posted below states while the concept is shown as a cargo van, future body styles could include a passenger wagon or a refrigerated box van.
Auction for first US VW e-Golf raises $41,400 for Global Green charity
Thu, Nov 6 2014Would having Jay Leno on hand have changed the outcome? That's what executives at Volkswagen might be asking after the German automaker auctioned off the company's first electric car in the US for around $6,000 over MSRP. VW auctioned off the first Volkswagen e-Golf in the US to raise money for the environmental non-profit Global Green USA. Bruce Oberg, an EV enthusiast and previous VW owner, proudly cut a $41,400 check for the car, which has a 116 miles per gallon-equivalent rating and is said to be able to go about 80 miles on a single charge. At your local dealer (depending on where you live), the e-Golf starts at $35,445. Sales start later this month in 11 states: California, Massachusetts, New York, Vermont, Oregon, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Washington, DC. The $6,000 premium for first-dib rights for the e-Golf is nice, but it doesn't compare to what BMW worked out this summer. In August, the first i8 plug-in hybrid in the US was auctioned off at California's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance for $825,000 (to an unidentified buyer). That's about six times the car's sticker price, but this special edition came with Louis Vuitton luggage and was presented by noted car buff Leno. VW's press release below. VOLKSWAGEN E-GOLF RAISES MONEY TO BENEFIT GLOBAL GREEN USA AFTER A SUCCESSFUL CHARITY AUCTION Nov 4, 2014 Winning bidder claims first VW electric vehicle as the car begins to ship to select U.S. dealerships Herndon, VA (November 4, 2014) Volkswagen of America, Inc. today announced that the auction of the first 2015 all-electric Volkswagen e-Golf has raised $41,400, with proceeds benefitting the national environmental non-profit Global Green USA and its efforts to advance smart solutions to climate change. The winner of the auction, which ran from October 8Β29 on CharityBuzz.com, became the first U.S. driver to own Volkswagen's all-new, fully-electric vehicle. "Volkswagen's commitment to e-mobility and sustainability runs deep. We could not be more proud that the e-Golf has helped raise money to benefit the efforts of Global Green USA, an organization that shares in our dedication to the environment," said Michael Horn, president and CEO, Volkswagen Group of America, Inc.
