1980 Volkswagen Vanagon Camper for sale with all camping equipment in tact and present. 2.0 Aircooled engine with automatic transmission. Has great interior with only one small tear in the seam of the side of the drivers seat. Back fold out z-bed has a small hole in the bottom cushion. All camping equipment is in good condition and works great. All connections for water tank and propane tanks work good. Key for the water tank lowering device is present. All curtains are present, but some in the back are a little frayed. All glass id unbroken with the exception of a small crack in the windshield. Engine is a 2.0 liter aircooled model hooked up to an automatic transmission. All lights and blinkers work fine. Brakes are working fine as do the headlights and brake lights. Poptop camper canvas could use updating as it is frayed around the edges. Needs a good paintjob to be a showroom quality vw as it has begun to surface rust in spots where a scratch has gone down to the primer. No holes in the floor or body due to rust.....absolutely none. Frame and pan are fantastic and structurally this vanagon is awesome. Just some suface rust. Need to sell as I just found a Bay Window Panel Van and that is the car that I want to restore. Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction should it sell. Thanks for looking and bidding...

Translogic 164: Driving the fuel cell vehicles of the 2014 LA Auto Show
Wed, Nov 26 2014The LA Auto Show is known for its environmentally friendly vehicle debuts. At last year's show, hydrogen fuel cell concepts from Honda and Toyota joined a lease-ready Hyundai Tucson FCEV to cast a green hue over the convention center. This year, automakers took us a step closer to a fuel cell future by offering drives of their hydrogen-electric hybrids. Translogic host Jonathon Buckley takes a ride in the Toyota Mirai, which is headed for production in 2016. He follows that with a spin in the Volkswagen Passat HyMotion and the Audi A7 Sportback h-tron quattro concept. Which of these fuel cell vehicles holds the most promise? Tune in to find out. Volkswagen Golf Wagon leaked ahead of official unveiling
Sat, 02 Mar 2013Wagons ho! These three images of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf Wagon have leaked online ahead of the car's official debut, which may very well be at the Geneva Motor Show. Looking over the photos doesn't really bring any surprises - after all, this is a VW Golf with a wagon rear end grafted on, or basically what we expect next Jetta SportWagen will be.
We can only share these three images at this time, but fret not, folks. There's little doubt that all the details and images will be flowing from Volkswagen in short order. In the meantime, click on the images above to view them in high resolution.
2014 Volkswagen XL1 [w/video]
Mon, 11 Mar 2013World's Most Efficient Car Impresses, Not Without Compromises
Among our many duties at the recent Geneva Motor Show, we were offered a pretty exclusive drive in the new Volkswagen XL1 hyper-efficient plug-in diesel hybrid. There is so much that is interesting about a car like this reaching production from a major automaker that it's tough to know where to begin.
First off, you should know that - at least for this generation - there is absolutely no chance in Albuquerque that this "1-liter vehicle" (i.e. a vehicle that can burn just one liter of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 62.1 miles) will ever make it into the hands of North American customers. We, too, were having trouble imagining an XL1 in typical American traffic, surrounded by comparatively massive pickups and SUVs. The driving experience had us recalling a couple of weeks in 1999 when we drove the then-revolutionary Honda Insight hybrid on US roads. We keenly remember the feeling of being very small and vulnerable, even as we felt proudly green in our 61-mpg Tochigi pod. Thing is, the Volkswagen is smaller still, and nearly as light despite its more complex drivetrain and safety features.
