I have the buyers order where it was purchased new in Ft Worth Texas and spent most of its life on west coast making it practically rust free. You can still see the original paint and seam sealant on the undercarriage and wheel wells, around windshield, rockers, and even the battery box is original and solid. There is some surface rust , few pin holes, and a couple of small minor dents that were filled years ago but other than that the body is in excellent shape.
I have the receipt for a new long block 2.0 engine that was installed 13k miles ago. Runs great with plenty of power, fresh tune up and oil change, new 55 amp alternator. Clutch works smooth 4 speed tranny shifts great. Lights, turn signals, and wipers all work, doors open and shut good, windows all work properly. Brand new tires with less than 300 miles on them ; she drives great; brakes are awesome they will stop on a dime. I drive this bus daily with no issues. Odometer shows 46,104 I am assuming it is 146,104.
The interior is clean and neat fold down bed works smooth and has full size bed in pop top. New laminate floor installed in camper area. Baby hammock is there and rear bug shield Has working sink and propane stove, also has electric fridge but I have not gotten it to work properly and it trips the breaker when plugged in. Will need the canvas replaced on the pop up, white vinyl was removed from wood headliner leaving adhesive residue and has minor amount of moisture that has come thru between the pop tops on the drivers side(see pics). The fuel gauge is not working, starter will drag occasionally but never fails to start, and it leaks a little oil from the rubber oil filler tube.
I have given you all the good bad and ugly about this classic bus so you can bid with confidence. You are welcome to come drive and look at bus anytime or you can call me with any questions at 270-491-0763. I have many more pictures and some videos if you need them just ask I will be glad to get them to you.
I prefer local pick up but will work with a shipping company to get this bus to your location as long as you arrange it and pay them directly. $500 deposit required thru pay pal with remainder paid at time of pick up in cash, or wire transfer for buyers requiring shipping. This is a 33 year old bus so there is no warranty or returns. Thanks for looking and don't miss out on this very solid bus with loads of potential for fun or investment.

2014 Volkswagen XL1 [w/video]
Mon, 11 Mar 2013World's Most Efficient Car Impresses, Not Without Compromises
Among our many duties at the recent Geneva Motor Show, we were offered a pretty exclusive drive in the new Volkswagen XL1 hyper-efficient plug-in diesel hybrid. There is so much that is interesting about a car like this reaching production from a major automaker that it's tough to know where to begin.
First off, you should know that - at least for this generation - there is absolutely no chance in Albuquerque that this "1-liter vehicle" (i.e. a vehicle that can burn just one liter of fuel to travel 100 kilometers, or 62.1 miles) will ever make it into the hands of North American customers. We, too, were having trouble imagining an XL1 in typical American traffic, surrounded by comparatively massive pickups and SUVs. The driving experience had us recalling a couple of weeks in 1999 when we drove the then-revolutionary Honda Insight hybrid on US roads. We keenly remember the feeling of being very small and vulnerable, even as we felt proudly green in our 61-mpg Tochigi pod. Thing is, the Volkswagen is smaller still, and nearly as light despite its more complex drivetrain and safety features.
Bentley considering diesel engine for new SUV
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Turns out, in case you didn't know, the rich are just like regular people. They too are concerned about the environment, even when tooling around town in their super-luxurious Bentleys. So the automaker is weighing the idea of offering a diesel engine in its SUV offering, which could help satisfy customers' demands for more fuel-efficient engines.
Chairman and CEO Wolfgang Schreiber told Autoblog in a roundtable interview at the Geneva Auto Show that the automaker is researching whether or not a diesel engine makes sense for the brand. Bentley, owned by the Volkswagen Group, could in theory use a diesel engine from anywhere in the Volkswagen Group family. We at Autoblog have hopes they'll revive the V10 TDI used in the VW Touareg until 2010, but ever-stricter emissions laws would likely make that problematic.
But rich people aren't so much like us that they'll be worried about petty things like pricing. Schreiber admitted the diesel engine could be a $15,000 option, which he said customers would probably find "acceptable." Given that the cheapest Bentley today starts at $177,000, typical customers probably won't be diddling around worrying about an extra 15 grand.
Translogic 168: CES 2015 Roundup
Wed, Jan 14 2015Translogic and the yearly CES glorious gadget geekout go together like digital peanut butter and high-def jelly. At this year's show, surrounded by an egg-shaped Mercedes-Benz concept and the re-introduction of, of all things, the Sony Walkman, we had some fun. Between talking with Volkswagen about its new gesture-control tech and flying some video drones, we squeezed in some time to shred on ZBoard's new electric skateboard. The future is now.
