1974 Volkswagen westfalia Camper i am listing this for the owner this is a purple people eater where ever this iconic VW Bus go's it gets the full atintion because of its style color and condtion skittle your way into camping in peace love and joy thats what this bus will bring to your family to enjoy precious moments of your life a rainbow of fun it is only showing 35K could be original the interior is gorgeous and everything works but the horn easy fix in its current condition i will drive any where in the US tiers our 75% a solid bus just look at the pics. please if you can come see for your selfs here are some specs on this wonderful VW BUS 1972-1979: You can spot a 1972 and newer Bus easily by the larger, tall narrow tail lights, as opposed to the small oval-like tail lights used from about 1960 to 1971. These years are fitted with the VW "pancake" type 4 engine. These Buses are commonly referred to as the "Porsche-powered" Bus because it has the same engine that was used in the Porsche 914 from 1970-1976. However, the truth is that the 914 Porsche was VW powered, not the other way around. Funny how rumors get started.... The 1972 and 1973 models were 1700cc with dual carburetors, the 1974 was 1800cc with dual carbs, the 1975 was 1800cc with "EFI" (Electronic Fuel Injection), and the 1976-1979 were 2000cc EFI's. The pop-top on the Bus Westy changed in 1974 from a front-tipping roof to a rear-flipping roof (like all Vanagon Westy’s have). As a rule of thumb, the newest Bus Westy is the best. The 1979 model is the best one. It is the only Bus that came with electronic fuel injection with Lambda (oxygen sensor) controlled mixture, electronic ignition, and hydraulic valves all in the same vehicle (California models only).sink refrigerator sleeps 4 heat works canvas is in great condition transmission shifts awesome all Curtains are there stove hook up for propane paint is good radio works please bid responsibly there is a $1000 none refundable deposit full payment in 3 days please call for more info i don't read email to often 360-896-1115 |

VW confirms Golf GTD diesel coming to US for 2016
Wed, 03 Jul 2013Part of the Volkswagen Golf recipe that has helped the car sell more than 30 million units in just under 40 years is the number of variants in which the hatchback is offered. Building on that range here in the US, Automotive News is reporting that we will finally be getting the sporty Golf GTD, likely as a 2016 model. It's the GTD, you'll recall, that crosses the performance abilities of the venerable GTI with a powerful and fuel-efficient diesel engine.
After speaking with Andreas Valbuena, Volkswagen product manager for the Golf, AN not only says that the GTD will for sale in the US in a couple years, it also estimates a baseline price of around $27,000, which would place it between the current pricing for the GTI and the Golf R. The GTD is launching in Europe this summer, but we won't be getting the seventh-generation Golf in the US for another year. The news about the performance diesel model isn't entirely unexpected - VW officials have been hinting at it for at least a year now, going so far as to import a sixth-generation model for media test drives on US soil, a task we happily took them up on last year.
The Mk VII GTD uses VW's 2.0-liter TDI engine with output increased to 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, allowing the car to sprint to 60 miles per hour in about seven seconds while returning more than 40 mpg in highway driving. We can't wait.
VW adding particulate filters to gas engines
Wed, Aug 3 2016Volkswagen is working hard to overcome the PR disaster that is its diesel emissions scandal, and part of its efforts is focusing, weirdly, on petrol engines. Starting in June 2017, the embattled German automaker will add particulate filters to the gas-powered Volkswagen Tiguan and Audi A5. The change will eventually impact nearly every direct-injected gas engine the VW Group makes. Audi? Particulate filter. Seat? Particulate filter. Even Bentley is going to get the tech, all in a bid to reduce soot emissions by 90 percent. In fact, by 2022 VAG expects 7 million of its vehicles to boast the emissions-cleaning tech, which has long been a fixture on diesel engines. "Following increases in efficiency and lower CO2 output, we are now bringing about a sustained reduction in the emission levels of our modern petrol engines by fitting particulate filters as standard," Volkswagen Group research and design boss Dr. Ulrich Eichhorn said in a statement. "In the future, all models will be equipped with the latest and most efficient SCR catalytic converter technology." VW's initial rollout focuses on the 1.4-liter, turbocharged Tiguan and the 2.0-liter, turbocharged A5. Considering the popularity of the 2.0-liter across the VW range, we'd expect it's only a matter of time before VW expands its particulate filters tech to additional gas-powered vehicles. VW recalling all its diesels in Australia
Mon, Oct 12 2015VW's Australian division has announced it will recall all of its diesel vehicles that are believed to be programmed to cheat government emissions-testing process, Reuters says. VW Australia will recall almost 100,000 cars as a result. About two-thirds of the vehicles to be recalled in Australia will be Volkswagen-branded light-duty vehicles, while about 17,000 will be commercial vehicles. About 5,000 vehicles will be Skodas. New VW CEO Matthias Muller (former chief Martin Winterkorn stepped down towards the beginning of the diesel scandal) said last week that VW recalls in Europe would start in January, with all cars slated to be "fixed" by the end of next year. As for US VWs, any massive recall of the nearly half-million affected diesels here will be difficult to make work. VW is still figuring out how to deal with the 2016 model-year diesels, which are new a few months away from seeing the light of day because of the brouhaha. The company has been forced to resubmit those diesels to the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for more testing. Back in Germany, local investigators have searched Volkswagen's headquarters in Wolfsburg for more information on the so-called "defeat device" software built into VW's diesel engines. Volkswagen has set aside $7.3 billion to deal with the fallout from the scandal after estimating that as many as 11 million of its diesel-powered worldwide vehicles use software that essentially games emissions tests system. Without this cheater software, VW's diesels perform worse when they follow emissions regulations. Related Videos: News Source: ReutersImage Credit: Paul J.
