It is hard to let go of my dream but I have put a lot of money in to her and she needs a new heart. I bought her from a her second buyer a man in OK a few months ago, she has given me a lot of laughs and some great times, but I think she needs a new motor, which I can't afford. She is has an original interior and could be priced out and you could double your investment.
Good Aspects of buying her. Already replaced all the fuel and vacuum lines, of course oil, plugs wires dist cap rotor etc. replaced front disc brake calipers, discs machines, new pads, a couple new rubber brake hoses that had dried out, rear brake cylinders, seals and brake line. Replaced fuel tank filler hose. We replaced the windshield lip metal with new steel from Germany along with new German windshield and rubber seal. The top has new canvas and rubber seals all around the fiberglass top. The interior, we replaced all the wood floor with new oak plywood before installing the new carpet. The metal floor was perfect. Driver and passenger seats were stripped, premiered painted, replaced padding and covered with new upholstery. New carpet, 5 brand new tires and inspected by VW She has a brand new radio and speakers She has new Rear side marker lights New Rubber on Shocks New Side Mirrors Deluxe Bus & Vanwagon Tarp Cover is included New Rear Hatch Mosquito Screen What I am attaching with her purchase: Complete LEFT & RIGHT Front Door Seal Kit w/German Upgrade bought from busdepot.com Things you should know: There is some rust under battery area and I have not done anything to it yet. Doesn't show from the outside of the vehicle but I know it's there. There is some small areas in the back corners that look like someone had tried to fix a small dent. ( smaller than your hand). I will take real close pictures of those two areas. It's the only place on the bus that I found body filler. Like I said its a small area, can't even see it from two meters. Rubber Windshield washer lines need to be replaced or spliced in. |

Wagons make a bit of a comeback, with new models, sales on the rise
Thu, Jan 10 2019Consider this an official invitation to hop on the wagon bandwagon. There's still tons of room because, well, it's a wagon (and market share is still extremely small). But according to new data, the segment is growing. According to a report from Bloomberg, using data from Edmunds.com, roughly 211,600 Americans purchased wagons in 2018. That is technically down from the 237,600 sold in 2017, but wagon sales in the U.S. are up 29 percent from where they were five years ago. It's also the third year in a row that wagon sales broke the 200,000 mark. The sales trends have been somewhat representative of the availability of wagons. New models have debuted during the past 5 years and therefore offer more opportunity at more brands to buy wagons. In addition to more modest cars such as the Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen, several luxury and performance brands are offering wagons today, such as Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Porsche, Jaguar, Volvo and Buick. (Bloomberg's headlines make the point that "crossovers are for the Kardashians," and wagons are just, well, classier.) This uptick in brand-name availability, as well as extremely well-executed design on most of the wagons currently available, has helped increase the segment's desirability. That, and its ability to better accomplish the same tasks at hand while standing out from the crossover and SUV crowd. Still, the posted numbers represent a small fraction of the total vehicles sold. According to the data, wagons only held a 1.4 percent market share in 2017, the segment's best recent year. Wagons hold a steadfast place in America's past, and they're writing an interesting new story. With the downturn in traditional cars, they may continue to create an unexpected narrative. VW bringing fuel cell concept to LA Auto Show
Mon, Nov 17 2014Amid the flurry of hydrogen announcements from Toyota and Honda last night, Volkwagen has something to add: a new hydrogen fuel cell concept vehicle. This will be the first VW hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in many years – remember the Tiguan Hy-Motion back in 2008? – and it comes as a bit of a surprise. First written up by the German publication Wirtschaft Woche, VW is going to have the prototype car (not pictured) available at the ride and drive at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this week. We don't yet know what kind of vehicle will sport the hydrogen powertrain, but our money's on a Golf variant. We'll see soon enough when we get to Los Angeles. What's interesting is that there have been a number of not-so-mixed messages out of the VW executive ranks when it comes to hydrogen vehicles. VW's Japanese president, Shigeru Shoji, said in September that, hydrogen fuel cells, "may fly within Japan, but not globally." Last year, VW's electrification head Rudolf Krebs said that "hydrogen mobility only makes sense if you use green energy." Also last year, VW CEO Martin Winterkorn said it's basically impossible to build hydrogen vehicles at a "reasonable cost." Nonetheless, we're going to see a new VW H2 concept soon. Thoughts?
VW Golf Sportsvan succeeds Golf Plus in Frankfurt
Sun, 08 Sep 2013
Just ahead of this week's Frankfurt Motor Show, Volkswagen has announced the world premiere of its Golf Sportsvan, a near-production concept that succeeds its Golf Plus. VW describes this compact family car as "one of the most versatile vehicles of the compact class," noting that it offers a mix of hatchback and minivan features in a sporty package.
That sportiness comes from the Sportsvan's styling (perhaps more sleek wagon than minivan) and performance features it shares with the Golf GTI - including the XDS+ electronic differential lock, which is integrated into the Electronic Stability Control system to improve agility. At the same time, the Sportsvan's six engine options, which include a turbodiesel, are up to 19-percent more fuel-efficient than their predecessors.
