Temecula, California, United States
NO RESERVE 1971 VW Single Cab Truck. JUST TOOK FIRST IN CLASS AT 2014 BUG-IN IRWINDALE CALIFORNIA 27 APRIL. This is a great truck that has 70's vintage modifications. Taken out of storage and cleaned up. All modifications done back in the day. Lowered perfectly with great rake NO rubbing and nice ride. REAL 911 Fuchs, not re-pops. New tires this month. 205/45/16. 40 series in front. New front disc calipers and master and hoses. New battery. Not sure of engine size. Previous owner believed it to be about 2000cc with about 6K on it, seems about right. Has external filters, large finned oil sump and dual Delortos. VERY FAST truck. You will not be disappointed in it's acceleration! It is impressive, Has that nice blue/gray paint with patina. Nice solid straight truck. Doesn't seem to have hauled anything. Won't find one with a straight bed and gates like this. Straight-Straight-Straight!!! bed and gates. Drive it anywhere. Strong market for these bay window single cabs. Sold my other one last month for $13K and was not as nice as this one. It is still an old VW so selling it as-is so please no complaints. BUT, I am selling it NO RESERVE!! For those who don't want to lose it, I am always interested in hearing what you think it is worth to you. Has a For Sale sign on it for $15K and could sell. Located in Southern California. Volkswagen and Funny or Die take humorous spin in 2015 Golf
Wed, 10 Sep 2014Volkswagen is partnering with Target and Funny or Die in a bizarre ad for the latest Golf starring comedian Rob Huebel, probably best known for his work on Childrens Hospital on Adult Swim.
The commercial is titled The Way Too Helpful Neighbor and stars Huebel as the eponymous neighbor. The challenge is for Huebel to help improve his buddy's apartment before the guy meets his girlfriend's parents for the first time. The obvious way to do that is to slide a new Golf through an actual Target in Texas, while simultaneously showcasing the store's goods and the car's features.
The commercial is airing online now and on TBS during breaks in Conan O'Brien's show, with sneak peaks during other programs on the network. Auto advertising is becoming pretty normal for Funny or Die at this point, though, with the site previously partnering with Fiat for several videos. Check out the ad above and see if you think it works. Scroll down for VW's announcement.
VW agrees to halt next-gen rally car development to help others stay in WRC
Sat, 22 Jun 2013Volkswagen has petitioned the FIA to hold on to the current specifications for cars in the World Rally Championship, according to Autosport.com. The move is evidently an effort to keep as many competitors in the sport as possible, despite the fact that using the current spec racers may actually hurt Volkswagen's chances at winning. The three factory teams currently competing in the WRC are at the end of a three-year homologation cycle at the end of 2013, and new cars are expected to bow next year. But developing new racers could cost as much as $4.7 million.
That price tag would put M-Sport (which fields Ford racers) out of the WRC game for 2014 and would put Citroën participation in question as well. VW has already begun work on the next iteration of its Polo R WRC, and the hatch has nabbed four wins in six rounds this season. Now it appears that car won't bow until at least 2015. The FIA has officially agreed to freeze homologation of new WRC cars until the end of next season.
CEO says Volkswagen's buying spree is over
Mon, 03 Sep 2012
After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
