1970 Vw Volkswagon Bus Project - Solid Body - New Brake Lines - Disassembled on 2040-cars
El Paso, Illinois, United States
i have a 1970 vw bus project that i have not started since i bought it and i could use the money for some of my other projects...... this is a very solid bodied bus with only a few areas where rust has been removed and needs to be addressed with some body work if your intent is to make it look like brand new (namely on the lip under the windshield and on both rear panels.....those areas could use some tlc to patch up.....but all in all very solid metal from top to bottom).......... new brake lines have been installed........ the motor ran when removed..........the transmission has a bad second gear (but it is a good core for you to trade in on a new transmission).........i bought this bus exactly as you will find it (a few years ago)........just have not got around to starting into it...........if it does not sell i guess i'll start into it when i get time........... it was all disassembled and ready for any body work and repaint.......... all i can say is it is in no way a rust bucket and that's what appealed to me when i bought it........it was all ready to be redone as i saw fit........... but right now i have too many projects and i could really use the garage space (it's been garage kept since i bought it) back for some of those projects...................... the bus has a title on hand but is not assembled for the road so it will need to be hauled (buyer responsibility).................... this project is for sale as is just as i bought it............ (the mileage of this vehicle is unknown....beyond it's mechanical measurement)
................ the buyer is responsible for prompt pick-up and safe transportation of this vehicle.......the buyer is also responsible for all insurance coverage of this vehicle upon taking possession..........................good luck on your bidding.....please send me picture3s when you complete this project bus ! |

Autoblog Podcast #327:
VW announces recall of 26,000 2014 models with 1.8T engines
Tue, 22 Apr 2014Volkswagen has followed up on a stop-sale order from earlier this month, announcing a voluntarily recall of 26,400 vehicles that are powered by the brand's 1.8-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The new mill replaced the despised 2.5-liter five-cylinder in the Jetta, Passat, Beetle and Beetle Convertible last year. Weirdly, though, of the 26,452 units covered in the recall, only 1,655 are customer vehicles.
According to VW, the affected models were built between February 1 and April 6 of this year, and feature bad O-ring seals in the transmission oil cooler. Apparently, the faulty O-rings could cause a fluid leak, as they won't seal between the oil cooler and transmission. VW is blaming a material change from a supplier for the problem.
There have been no fires, injuries, accidents or fatalities relating to this issue, which VW will be fixing free of charge. Customers will need to report to dealers to have the O-rings replaced.
UAW angered over VW workers getting right to defend anti-union vote
Thu, 13 Mar 2014The United Auto Workers have called a decision by the National Labor Relations Board allowing anti-UAW employees at the Volkswagen factory in Chattanooga the right to defend voting down unionization at the plant "an outrage."
You'll recall that the union was defeated by a vote of 712 to 626 in a contentious February election. The UAW claims the outcome was unfairly swayed by pro-business, anti-union forces, including Senator Bob Corker and political advocate Grover Norquist.
This new decision by the NLRB essentially gives workers backed by the anti-UAW National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation and Southern Momentum a formal voice in the impending hearing on the UAW's appeal of the vote.
