This panel bus is in amazing shape. The floors have no rust, the body has no rust and is pretty straight. The bus does have a custom paint job done on the early 90s. The paint was done in base coat clear coat and was recently re cleared to preserve the paint. The paint does show some patina and has some runs however it is beautiful and turns a lot of heads. The bus has safari windows and is lowered with drop spindles in the front and a couple of clicks in the rear. The brakes are all new with new wheel cylinders, hoses, shoes, and, master cylinder. The engine is a 1600 single port which runs smooth and starts right up. The transmission is original and shifts well the clutch and flywheel is new. The vehicle has been converted from 6volt charging system to a 12volt system by way of an alternator. Tires in the rear are 205 65 r15 and have less than 600 miles on them, the front tires are 125 r15 and are also new. This bus was just driven to Bug Jam in Pasco County FL which is about a 600 mile round trip drive. I have tried to describe the bus as well as I can, please ask any questions.

VW to unveil diesel-electric Twin-Up! in Tokyo
Fri, 08 Nov 2013We've received multiple reports that Volkswagen will be bringing a diesel-electric concept to the 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, set to take place later this month. The car, called the Twin-Up!, is based on the Up! city car, with some sources claiming this is a thinly veiled concept that will eventually enter production.
According to Automotive News Europe, the Twin-Up! will reportedly return 214 miles per gallon on the US cycle by combining an 800-cc, two-cylinder diesel and an electric motor. It will also boast plug-in capabilities, and will be able to cover 30 miles on electric power alone.
Autocar has a more complete picture of the Twin-Up!'s powertrain, though, claiming it's a modified version of the hybrid system found in the Volkswagen XL1. The Twin-Up! will get a more potent, 47-horsepower electric motor to the XL1's 27-hp unit, but will retain that car's 47-hp turbodiesel. The battery pack will also grow, from 5.5 kilowatt hours to 8.6 kWh. Both of these increases are necessary due to the increased weight of the Twin-Up! - it's some 900 pounds heavier than an XL1.
Production Volkswagen Taigun crossover caught in patent filing?
Wed, 01 May 2013Volkswagen brought an angular, bulldog-like small crossover concept called Taigun to the São Paulo motor show last year, claiming that it wanted to gauge interest in the design before making a decision about production. If a new report with alleged leaked patent images is to be believed, then, interest must have been pretty high.
China's Auto.Sohu.com has published this group of Taigun images, claiming that they have been sourced from the Chinese patent office and that the subcompact VW utility based on the Up! has been cleared for production.
If all of that is true, and if these images are representative of the final product, you'll see that designers haven't done much to alter the concept car's appearance. Comparing, shot for shot, with the images we have from Brazil, we see that even small details like roof rack-mounted lights and exhaust tips integrated in the rear fascia have been carried over. Andretti Autosport partners with Volkswagen for Global Rallycross season
Tue, 14 Jan 2014Michael Andretti and Volkswagen have both been involved in Global Rallycross for a couple of years, but not together. Andretti Motorsports Marketing organized the final round of the 2012 GRC series in Las Vegas, and there were rumors then that Andretti was going to get in. Around the same time there were news reports that Volkswagen was preparing a 600-hp Polo Mk5 to race in the SuperCar class; the photo above is racer Anton Marklund in his privateer Marklund Motorsports Polo at the 2013 X-Games round in Los Angeles.
Now it's official: Andretti Autosport will campaign the 2014 GRC season with VWs. That's all that's been said for now, Andretti being busy at the moment launching four entries for IndyCar, two for Indy Lights and two for Pro Mazda. We have a feeling we'll be seeing the MkVII Golf involved, but the cars and the driver lineup will be presented at the Chicago Auto Show on February 6.
