THIS IS MY 1958 VW SINGLE CAB THAT HAS BEEN WITH ME FOR ABOUT 6 YEARS. IT HAS A 1800 ENG. AND IS DROPPED ABOUT 3". REDUCTION BOXES WERE REMOVED AND NOW HAS A TRANSAXLE. RUNS AND DRIVES OK BUT TRANSMISSION NEEDS SOME WORK. AS YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PICTURES IT IS MOSTLY STRAIGHT WITH ALMOST NO RUST. IT HAS EMPY STYLE WHEELS. IT NEEDS SOME TLC. I THINK IT NEEDS: WEATHER STRIPS, RIGHT DOOR WINDOWS, ELECTRICAL CONNECTED OR REPAIRED, INCLUDING WINDSHIELD WIPERS AND TURN SIGNAL AND LIGHTS, SOME TRIMS AND PAINT. THE PREVIOUS OWNER USED THIS TRUCK FOR OFF-ROADING WITH HUGE TIRES CAUSING DENTS UNDER THE SEATS ON BOTH SIDES. SEE PICTURES! THIS IS A VERY NICE TRUCK AND AM SORRY TO HAVE TO SELL IT BUT I NEED THE MONEY. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE THE TRUCK AS BEST I CAN. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. TRUCK IS BEING SOLD AS IS WHERE IS AND NO WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. CAR LOCATED 30 MILES EAST OF SAN DIEGO. YOU ARE WELCOME TO COME SEE IT BY APPOINTMENT. CLEAN CA. TITLE AND IN MY NAME. SERIOUS BIDDERS ONLY! $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT BY PAYPAL MUST BE MADE AT AUCTIONS ENDING AND BALANCE NO MORE THAN 48 HRS. OF END OF AUCTION. Volkswagen Cross Up! aimed at rugged lifestyle folks, complete with plastic cladding
Wed, 06 Mar 2013If you thought there was nothing wrong with the Volkswagen Up! that a little body cladding wouldn't fix, you're in luck. VW has officially pulled the wraps off the production version of the Cross Up!, and its wheel arches and rocker panels are full of the black plastic cladding you've been yearning for.
In addition to the "particularly rugged design and tough, lifestyle qualities" that the cladding exudes, VeeDub has also seen fit to put its Cross Up! on a new set of 16-inch alloy wheels clad in 185/50-series tires. Inside, there are new kick plates to go along with a dash pad that can be had in red, black or silver.
All that cladding must equal additional off-road readiness, right? Well, sure... just so long as you're fine with the same 75-horsepower three-cylinder engine that all other Up! models also feature, along with a five-speed manual transmission sending power to the front wheels, again, just like all other Up! models. The Cross Up! appears to have a taller ride height than other models, but we haven't been able to find out what - if any - changes have been made.

Volkswagen Golf R 400 Concept still makes us swoon
Fri, Nov 21 2014We know, we know – this hot little guy isn't really new or anything. Volkswagen first rolled out the Golf R 400 concept in Beijing earlier this year, and since its debut, we've heard rumors that the German automaker might-perhaps-maybe-hopefully build the thing. Its showing here in Los Angeles simply marks the first time it's debuting in America, and honestly, we can't get enough. So here it is, again. Hello, Golf R 400 – we love you. And what's not to love? What starts as a normal Golf R gets better with a more aggressive appearance, big wheels, some tasteful neon yellow accents, and a whole mess of power. The original concept packed 395 horsepower from an overblown 2.0-liter turbo-four, though the most recent reports suggest a production version could produce over 400 hp. To keep it all in line, the concept has all-wheel drive. And inside, it's the same functional, comfortable Golf we've always loved. There's nothing left to say, really. We love this car, and you should, too. Check it out in the gallery above.
