1956 Vw 23 Window Deluxe Show Bus Wolfsburg Edition on 2040-cars
Winchester, California, United States
Here is a very rare and desirable Volkswagen bus, It is a real 23 window with the factory safari window option, This bus has taken 2 1/2 years to this point. The colors are the original color of Sealing Wax Red over Chestnut Brown. This bus has been restored under / inside / outside with only a couple items left to finish as of the listing of this ad. Just to help some of you out there understand just how rare this model is, Volkswagen 23 window buses have skyrocketed in price over the last 5 years, a 1956 23 window is one of the rarest among 23 window buses then add in the factory " safari window " option and now you have a very rare collector car. This bus had sat for over 40 years til received it back in 2011, the original brake shoes were still on the bus , it looks like transmission locked up and the previous owner prior to my acquiring it just parked it. Now the vehicle was not a trailer queen when I got it , The original cargo floor is still in the bus with a replacement patch. The front cab floor has been replaced with a floor from another bus . These buses typically need these and other items replaced due to there design flaws, but all is well !!! This bus would qualify as a candidate for a VW Dealership show room floor. You can take it to a show and place a mirror under it to show it off. I think you get my drift. The Wolfsburg for people who do not know is the plant where the bus was produced. Volkswagen manufactured there cars in there early years at Wolfsburg til March-ish 1956. Then they moved production over to there new plant at the time in Hanover. This bus was one of the last buses to be produced at Wolfsburg and having the ultra rare factory safari window option make this a " must have " for any collector. I can go on and on but would be best served by asking any questions. Oh the interior is also being restored to stock being a tan colored interior. I know of 3 other buses for sale of the same year and all are 125,000 to 200,000 if that tells you anything. I can ship worldwide for overseas buyers as I am about 1 hour away from the port of Long Beach, I might also be available to deliver the vehicle to USA buyers also. Please note: The bus is at the upholstery shop having the headliner and panels installed by one of Southern California's best. I have included a few photos of what the bus would look like lowered with Porsche alloy wheels the bus currently is all original thanks for looking !! |

Audi CEO Rupert Stadler: Ducati is not for sale
Sat, Jun 18 2016"Ducati is not for sale." Those words, attributed to Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, are about as clear and definitive as can be, and they reiterate a previous statement about the potential sale of the premium Italian motorcycle brand that was made in March of this year. "[Ducati and Lamborghini] belong to Audi and, together with us, have an excellent future," said Stadler. Thing is, Audi, as well-off and established as it may be, still falls under the Volkswagen umbrella. And, as you're surely aware, things haven't exactly been smooth sailing for the VW Group over the last several months. The German automaker has squirreled away billions of dollars in anticipation of the legal fallout that's sure to come from the falsification of vehicle emissions data, and that's going to leave the company strapped for cash. All of that bad news led to speculation that VW could sell off some of its non-core businesses. What of the future of the Scania and Man heavy truck brands? Those don't currently appear to be on the auction block, either. VW's continued involvement in the HD truck segment was announced as part of the brand's TOGETHER - Strategy 2025 plan, in which Volkswagen outlined plans to push further into vehicle electrification and vehicle autonomy. Volkswagen offers Beetle Classic, priced from $20,195*
Tue, 23 Sep 2014The current Volkswagen Beetle already tries to be a fairly retro-looking ride by cribbing styling elements from the iconic original. However, for the new, limited-edition Classic model, VW is hopping into the time machine to grab even more vintage cues. The company is even cutting the price, perhaps in hopes of turning around flagging sales this year. You don't need to wait long for any of these upgrades either because the automaker says that the Classic goes on sale this week for $20,195, *excluding the $820 destination charge. That's $100 less than a bone-stock Beetle.
Starting as a standard Beetle with VW's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque, the Classic edition comes with a six-speed automatic and then adds some retro flair. It includes new vintage-look 17-inch wheels with simulated dog dish polished hubcaps over black spokes. It also comes with a rear spoiler, and the automaker is offering the model in Pure White, Black Uni, and Reflex Silver.
The interior mixes in a few more classic touches but includes modern amenities like a standard navigation system, satellite radio and multifunction steering wheel. However, the seats are finished in a two-tone design combining light brown leatherette on the sides and checked cloth centers, plus lumbar support for the driver's side. The shift knob and handbrake also get wrapped in leather.
Porsche-Piech buy 10% stake in VW's holding company
Tue, 18 Jun 2013In August, 2009, as the scuttled merger of Porsche and Volkswagen had gone bad and Porsche was backed up against the ropes, Porsche Automobil Holding SE (PAHSE) relinquished a ten-percent stake in itself to Qatar Holdings as well as options it held on 17 percent of VW shares. The sale meant that, for the first time since the founding of the company 61 years before, an entity outside the Porsche and Piech families had a say in the running of PAHSE.
Buying that ten-percent stake back returns full ownership to the two families, the holding company's sole possession being ownership of 50.7 percent of VW's common shares. The price paid wasn't disclosed, but at market rates the purchase would be worth close to $1.25 billion. Qatar intends to hold onto the 17-percent stake it has in Volkswagen.
