1976 Volkswagen Convertible Beetle on 2040-cars
Canfield, Ohio, United States
This
is a 1976 Volkswagen Convertible Beetle. The car has sat for a long time and
was un touched. The story on the car is it needs to be restored as it is pretty
much complete and in decent shape but it does need restored. The body is in
fair shape but has its usual rust in the usual rust areas. The heater channels
and reinforcement rails will need replaced as they are looking weak. The doors
still open and close OK but the rails and channels will need replaced. The floor
pans were partially patches up by the previous owner but could use some work.
The strut tower area is still good but the lower inner fender area will also
need so rust repair. The interior is in good condition as all the seats are
there except the rear bottom. The dash is complete and has NO cracks and the
face of the dash is still good looking. Wiring seems to be un touched but the
battery is dead. The car does roll and steer freely and comes with a CLEAN OHIO
TITLE in my name. all the glass is in good shape and the chrome frames are still
decent. The top is OK but has one small hole and will also ned replaced down
the road. The car also comes with the original engine as I was told did run
before but from sitting so long it does not turn but is pretty complete and
should free pretty easily. I have additional pictures so if needed please feel
free to ask. I will NOT DELIVER the car as the lucky bidder is responsible for
the pick-up of the vehicle. |

VW teams up with legendary electronic musicians Kraftwerk for 3D Autobahn concert
Fri, Jan 9 2015Electronic music fans know Kraftwerk. To paraphrase a famous TV anchor, they're kind of a big deal. The band is in the midst of an eight-concert show at Berlin's Neue Nationalgalerie, which includes a full 3D accompaniment. Why, you ask, is this on Autoblog, then? Well, Volkswagen is sponsoring it, highlighting the role that its iconic Beetle played on the band's equally iconic fourth album, Autobahn. And besides, it's Friday afternoon, and who doesn't want to listen to the soothing synth notes of early EDM pioneers? Check out the featurette on the connection between VW and Kraftwerk, and then for giggles, scroll down and give the first track of Autobahn a listen. This content is hosted by a third party. Volkswagen to add 50k jobs by 2018
Thu, 04 Apr 2013Volkswagen still has its eyes set on becoming the top global automaker by 2018, and to get there, it's apparently going to need more boots on the ground. Automotive News Europe is reporting that VW is looking to increase its staff by 50,000 over the next five years - an increase of nine percent - which does not include an increase in its US dealer network.
According to the report, a majority of the growth will come from China where the automaker is also looking to double its production capacity in the same time frame. The Volkswagen Group is already expected to rival General Motors for the top sales spot in China this year, and such a rapid expansion in the region could make a good springboard for sales increases in other countries.
VW beams in Star Trek stars to promote e-Golf EV
Tue, Oct 7 2014Volkswagen just set its e-mobility commercial phasers on stunning. The German automaker has cast Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock of Star Trek fame (i.e., actors William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy) in a new advertisement for its growing stable of electric vehicles. Even though it's in German, we think you can get the idea. VW went Hollywood and cast the two veteran actors in a futuristic-themed 45-second ad, which sees Shatner cruise up in the e-Golf (with a toothy Trek-fan kid in tow) while Nimoy rocks the XL1 and the Trek theme blares in the background. Forget for a moment that the kid in the commercial wasn't even born when Shatner started pitching for Priceline, let alone the original Trek series and just enjoy the wholesome good humor of Shatner saying that the electric powertrain is just like the one in a spaceship. If you've got any familiarity with Spock, you should be able to understand his punch line, too. Of course, if you'd rather your German vehicle advertisements were set in the Star Wars universe, we recommend clicking here. VW will bring the e-Golf to the states in November at a price of $35,445, about $6,500 higher than the Nissan Leaf's starting pricetag. You can see the new ad and a number of related behind-the-scenes videos (in English) below. Our Quick Spin of the E-up! are available here. This content is hosted by a third party.
