This car, IS NOT RUNNING at the MOMENT, but is turning over at the key. Due to Elct. Problem I have No more $$ or time to invest, right now It has all new Floor Pan Rust Free except a little bubbling uder the paint on body below drivers door. 1600 dual port NOT FUEL injected.. Brakes and light have been gone through, recent carburetor and Alternator, recent CV joints and Struts, bushings) Top of motor rebuilt less than,1000 Mi. with New Heater boxes, Dual Bugpack ceramicHeader exhaust, and have flushed out the transmission. new Carpet, (5) rare Star wheels with 4 NEW Federal Tires that don't have 10 miles on them, and a good spare.. Needs New Top,these pics were taken over 5 years ago except the one of the trunk up front thats right after the motor rebuild, but with out the new tires. I Had just over $7000 into it at that time and turned down an offer of $4,800 .  This has a Clear Title .. Have taken apart and Totally Cleaned Fuse Panel, Also have Changed the Electrical . Clips at least 90%  it has a vw, radio with no speaker I wired that, and a Cigarette lighter outlet for GPS put I stopped wiring Harness near completion, I'm just not a Qualified German Electrition    I really think with No more than 2, 3 Hrs. at the most a shop, or someone that knows this V W's 12 fuse system, should have it running.    I bought this car for my Fiance as it was her dream car, her youngest son took his life and she left me and this thing. I think it's a curse but hopefully someone can get a good deal on this, and enjoy it.

the worst thing is a fender bender, that was fixed.  It Ran Straight, and true and Ive had it up to 70 with NO Problem, has a couple dings in hood, and one on driver's rear fender.
the rear 1/4 driver's side glass channel, driver's vent closher needs installation , and other small TLC stuff
I got a set of stock 75 front bucket seats, that are in fine shape..  This Car could get running easily by right people, you could put the top down, Boot on and keep it in garage as it is a driver. to make nicer, paint and re upholstery would be needed with the New Top    It also has a Karman badge on it, whatever that means. This Car is in Coeur D Alene Idaho,
At a friend that owns a Tire Business, covered in his lot.  i have moved from area  The title says exept for milage I tell you since I've had it it hasn.t gone over 2,000 mi.   I.m trying to be as honest as Possible. This might sound like a lot of work, to me it's a good deal.  My Style is a Body off restoration of a 1958 Chevy Yeoman 2 DR. Wagon  Car is Where is As Is  Thnx for your time Steve

The Volkswagen Group switches official language to English

Wed, Dec 14 2016

The Volkswagen Group can't be fairly thought of as entirely German anymore, so the news that the company is switching its official language to English to help attract managers and executives is a rational, if surprising, decision. While many VW Group companies are still staidly German in character and culture, consider the other companies that it controls: Bentley (British), Bugatti (French), Ducati and Lamborghini (Italian), Skoda (Czech), Scania trucks (Swedish), and SEAT (Spanish). Not to mention the large Volkswagen Group of America operation, which constructs cars in Chattanooga, TN. Volkswagen's explicit motivation is to improve management recruitment – making sure the company isn't losing out on candidates for important positions because they can't speak German – and that's inherently sensible in a globalized economy. Particularly considering, like it or lump it, that English is the lingua franca of said global economy. It also should make it inherently easier to communicate between its world-wide subsidiaries and coordinate operations. It's hard to say for sure if this will have any impact on the consumer, although it's easy to see the benefits if, say, VW Group hires some American product planners or engineers and they push for features and designs that more closely suit American needs. After all, the US is a hugely important market for any manufacturer, and so the switch to English almost certainly has something to do with the outsized influence of the US in the global economy. And there doesn't seem to be a downside from a purely rational perspective, although it could mean that the Group's corporate culture becomes less German. Whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on your perspective. VW says it has sold over 100,000 TDI diesels in America this year

Thu, 26 Dec 2013

Volkswagen Group of America has lit oil-burning fireworks to celebrate the sales of more than 100,000 TDI Clean Diesel vehicles in the US between its VW and Audi brands this year. According to VW, that means it is responsible for more than 75 percent of diesel-engined cars and SUVs sold here - perhaps not surprising when the two brands offer a total of 12 diesel models.
What might be surprising is that the number of diesels isn't far off the estimated sales of 90,000 battery electric vehicles and PHEVs, with 15,000 of those accounted for by the Tesla Model S, another 12,000 or so being the Toyota Prius PHEV.
VW's keen to play up the ease of making diesel part of your life, stressing that it doesn't need any change to the refueling infrastructure and that "this is a technology delivering real answers to society's concerns about fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions without compromises."

VW joins Daimler's protest of new A/C refrigerant as EU deadline for compliance passes

Sun, 06 Jan 2013

The case of Dupont and Honeywell's refrigerant R-1234yf is doing the exact opposite of keeping things cool. The two chemical companies have spent years and hundreds of millions of dollars developing R-1234yf to replace R-134a, the new refrigerant shown to be 99.7-percent kinder to the environment than the one it is meant to succeed. Part of that development has been years of testing by governments, outside safety agencies and automakers to approve the chemical for use in cars. It passed the protocols necessary for the European Union to declare that new and significantly revised cars from 2013 onward needed to use R-1234yf, and mandated that every car as of 2017 must use it.
Enter Daimler AG. The automaker created a head-on collision test with a B-Class at their Sindelfingen test track that would lead to the pressurized refrigerant being sprayed on the engine. The result in 20 out of 20 test was that the refrigerant burst into flames as soon as it hit the hot engine, while Daimler says that R-134a does not catch fire in the same test. Another unexpected result of the R-1234yf test was the release of hydrogen flouride, a chemical far more deadly to humans than hydrogen cyanide, emitted in such amounts that it that turned the windshield white as it began to eat into the glass.
Said a Daimler engineer in a Reuters piece, "It was scarcely believable. The most complicated lab tests conducted using the most sensitive measuring instruments around found nothing and all we do is drive a car around a couple of times, open a tiny hole in the refrigerant line and the next thing you know the car is on fire." So Daimler said it wouldn't use the refrigerant, and it recalled the cars it had already shipped with R-1234yf.
