I am selling a beautiful 1972 Volkswagen Beetle. Her name is Bella, and she runs beautifully. She is an old girl, so of course she needs to be taken care of as such. I bought her from a couple who took great care of her. Since I purchased her earlier this year, I have taken her on a number of road trips, and she has never failed me. I just took her into a local mechanic, and they said she is in beautiful shape with no oil leaks. She has a beautiful interior, with custom paint on the dash. She has speakers, but no subwoofer or stereo. All of the hooks ups and grounding cables are included with her. If you drive her right, she will get you 30mpg. She takes a couple of minutes to warm up when you start her. She does need a paint job, but she still looks beautiful with her maroon and white paint.
Her tires are practically new. I had to take the tire studs out come April, but the tires are in perfect condition with tons of tread left (no leaks). She also got a nice ding on her left front side (not a big dent) that could be fixed before painting. She has a spot on the roof that is cracking, but NO LEAKS and can easily be fixed. She just recently had an oil change. All lights work, brakes work perfectly, and she is ready to drive!
Here are some of the upgrades that have been done:
INTERIOR
Headliner (Birds of Norway)
Door Panels (Birds of Norway)
Wolfberg edition stirring wheel with custom paint to match
Dash pad removed to reveal VW's beautifully shaped metal dash
All the pulls, switches, ashtray, oh shit handle, ect. have been modified to fit the metal dash
New headlight switch installed
Custom hand-fabricated dash inserts which house 3 guages:
Auto Shift tachometer with ADJUSTABLE shift light!
VDO oil pressure gauge
VDO volt meter gauge
Oh-Shit Handles (all 3) have multi scheme paint or headliner trimming wrapped to match
Trunk release lever rerouted near the gas pedal for easy foot pressure release
Back-up trunk release hidden under the right front fender
Fire extinguisher mounted under the dash, easy one hand accessibility.
Kick panel speakers
Custom 2-Stage, 3 color paint scheme throughout interior
Heater cable tubes reamed out
All new HEATER cables (EVEN THE DEFROST WORKS!!!)
New heavy-duty window cranks
New Speedo cable
ENGINE COMPARTMENT
Replaced the original flimsy heater pipe with New Stainless Steel Flex Exhaust Pipe (ceramic coated black)
Air intake filter
Chrome Carburetor Cap
Aftermarket oil circulation system (most vw don't have this, it's a huge improvement)
Ceramic coated engine tins
Newer exhaust
Rally race crankshaft pulley with degree notches
VDO oil pressure (dual) switch so you have the pressure gauge and the dummy light still operates!
TRANSMISSION
Short shifter (Scat) short throw shifter easy shift (AWESOME, a must have for the V-dub)
New CV Joints
New clutch cable
WHEELS
Custom paint to match
Chrome Moonies on all 4 wheels
Newer wheel bearings
Tires with 80% tread left on them
Newer brake pads
New metal brake line from front to back. Newer rubber brake lines to all 4 wheels. Bled all 4 corners.
EXTERIOR
All body beading removed and panels aligned
Stainless Steel SS eye lids, eye lashes
New left side view mirror
All chrome is there
The only thing that needs to be fixed on her is the emergency brake. It only needs two new lines replaced and it will be good to go! :)
I need to sell her ASAP, so I have lowered the price from $4000 to $3300 - will accept some lower offers. I am about to give birth and need to find a new home for her soon. Clear title! Tags good until 2015, if you live in Oregon.

Are more diesel scandals about to erupt?
Fri, Nov 20 2015More automakers may soon be embroiled, like Volkswagen, in diesel emissions scandals. According to the Daily Kanban, either the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) or the Deutsche Umwelthilfe (DUH) will soon announce from 10 to 15 more cases of automakers cheating national diesel emissions rules. The outlet says three of the incidents are attributed to Opel. Studies conducted by the DUH, the University of Applied Sciences in Bern, Switzerland, and the UK's Leeds University found that Opel's diesel Zafira, Corsa, and Vectra models emit more NOx than European regulations allow when tested in ways that go beyond the European testing protocol, such as when done on a four-wheel rolling road instead of a two-wheel rolling road. Opel said the accusations had no merit. Specifically on the Zafira, the DUH asked Opel about the emissions findings, and Opel said that no General Motors software contains any measures to enable cheating. Opel then tested a Zafira of its own "both on a two- and a four-wheel roller dynamometer," finding that "The emission behavior determined in each case does not differ from one another." That makes this a case of he-said-she-said for the moment. The Daily Kanban's sources say the cheating methods "range from the crude to the highly sophisticated," with those at the latter end complex enough to render Volkswagen's methods "pedestrian." As for any automakers who might be named, the matter of real-world emissions exceeding a legal limit doesn't mean a carmaker has designed systems that cheat, it might mean the company designed the car to pass a test. Volkswagen debuts MkVII-based diesel Golf GTD
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As Volkswagen prepares for the launch of the seventh-generation Golf, it continues to show off some of the car's different variants. With the standard Golf and the ultra-efficient BlueMotion Concept out of the way, now we're finally starting to see some of the sportier versions planned for the hatchback. Confirmed for a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen has now given us our first glimpse at the Golf GTD.
Just think of the GTD as a diesel version of the GTI with all the handling and styling upgrades, and then add a torquey engine to the equation. (We had the chance to sample the current GTD over the summer, so click here to read more.) To go with the new body style, VW also gave the GTD a new TDI engine consisting of a similar turbocharged and direct-injected 2.0-liter inline-four layout but with an output of 184 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque - that's an increase of 14 hp and 22 lb-ft over the current GTD. That's a pretty good oomph, but the GTD won't be setting any acceleration records with VW quoting a 0-62 mile per hour time of 7.5 seconds thanks to the car's 3,036-pound curb weight.
The styling of the MkVII Golf lends itself quite well to the more aggressive body kit found on the GTD (and likely matching the GTI). The new front fascia and blacked-out grille give the GTD a sporty look up front, while 17-inch sport wheels, rocker panel extensions and smoked LED taillights finish off the visual changes. The GTD will only be offered in three exterior colors: Tornado Red, Black and Pure White. As expected, the interior gets the plaid seat inserts and flat-bottomed sport steering wheel, but the car also gets stainless steel pedals, a black headliner, ambient cabin lighting and a specific gauge cluster readout.
VW Jetta GLI, Peugeot 505 are MotorWeek's 1986 Euro sport sedan alternatives
Tue, Dec 23 2014Video reviews have become a mainstay of automotive journalism, but long before every publication turned on its video cameras and started uploading to YouTube, there was one program that was blazing the trail. That, of course, was MotorWeek, the television car program produced by Maryland Public Television and hosted by the inimitable John Davis. The program first aired back in 1981, and after more than three decades in the business, it's got a considerable archive of old episodes to unearth. In this latest gem recovered from the MotorWeek back catalog, the program pitted two European sports sedans against each other: a Volkswagen Jetta GLI and a Peugeot 505 Turbo. That's right: back in the 1980s, Peugeot was still competing in the US marketplace. The forced-induction 505 may not have been enough to keep the French automaker in American showrooms, but it was enough to stand up against the VW. Which one won MotorWeek's favor? You'll just have to watch the six-minute clip to find out. News Source: MotorWeek via YouTube Volkswagen Peugeot Economy Cars Performance Videos Sedan vw jetta gli
