Rebuilt 1600cc motor, runs and drives great. This car was my daily driver for nearly two years. The odometer reads 39,115 however the previous owner did not know if it was correct when I bought the car and as such, I don’t either. I did a lot of work to this car to get it set up as a reliable daily. The car has a 2” narrowed adjustable beam which gets the car low, but not slammed, and has new shocks to match. I lowered the rear to match. The wheels were replaced with stock bug rims, which I had powdercoated satin black. The tires are NEW full size (165s) to keep the ride comfortable. Also while doing this I added all new brakes including brand new drums and bearings. The only modifications I made to the motor are a larger oil breather and electronic ignition for reliability, and the carhas a 12v charging system. The car starts up first try every time. The exhaust was replaced with the “Eurosport” style and it sounds nice, but isn’t obnoxiously loud. The interior is in good shape with the only exceptions being the headliner (new headliner included with the car) shifter knob, and dash grab handle. The car has an Autometer tachometer on the steering column. The front seats have brand new seat covers and the driver’s seat has new seat foam. The rear seat in great shape. The door panels are new as are the grab handles. I installed “Fat Mat” sound deadening on the floors and firewall area. The old grant wheel was replaced with an original style ivory one. The head unit has a pop out touch screen, auxiliary (headphone style) input and is capable all sorts of fancy stuff I never got a chance to use! I added two 6x9” Sony speaker boxes behind the rear seat and a 6” Sony speaker hidden behind the grille in the dash. The car has an older paint job (dark navy/cobalt blue metallic) and some small spots had flaked off. I touched them up to prevent rust. The paint on the rear apron does have some cracks due to the heat from the cars old exhaust.
All in all this is a great car, if I had the space I wouldn't hesitate to keep it. You can jump in this one year only 67 Beetle and drive anywhere!

European new car sales drop nearly 8% in first half of 2019
Thu, Jul 18 2019PARIS — European car sales dropped 7.9% in June, led by bigger declines for Nissan, Volvo and Fiat Chrysler (FCA), according to industry data published on Wednesday. Registrations fell to 1.49 million cars last month from 1.62 million a year earlier across the European Union and EFTA countries, the Brussels-based Association of European Carmakers said in a statement. Calendar effects resulted in two fewer sales days in most markets, accentuating the decline. Registrations for the first half closed 3.1% lower, ACEA said. For European carmakers, weakening demand at home compounds the pressure from a sharper contraction in China and emerging markets that may yet bring more profit warnings. NissanÂ’s aging model lineup contributed to a 26.6% June sales slump while Volvo Cars, owned by ChinaÂ’s Geely, saw deliveries tumble 21.7%. Registrations also fell 13.5% last month at FCA, 10.1% at BMW, 9.6% at Volkswagen Group and 8.2% for both Mercedes parent Daimler and FranceÂ’s PSA Group. The Peugeot makerÂ’s domestic rival Renault suffered less, posting a 3.9% decline. By the Numbers BMW Chrysler Fiat Nissan Volkswagen Volvo Peugeot Renault
Volkswagen says goodbye to Eos, Routan in 2015 updates
Wed, 23 Jul 2014Usually automakers announce changes to their lineup individually on a vehicle-by-vehicle basis, but sometimes it all comes at once - especially when the changes are ones we either expected or might not otherwise notice. That's the path Volkswagen has gone with changes to its US lineup for 2015.
The biggest change is what we already knew: that the new Golf arrives for the 2015 model year, bringing with it the new GTI, Golf R, e-Golf and Golf SportWagen (to replace the previous Jetta wagon). But there are some new details as well.
For starters, Volkswagen has finally confirmed that both the Eos and the Routan - both long rumored to be on their way out - will be exiting this year. The Eos hardtop convertible, pictured above, will linger for one last year, its Sport trim replaced by a new Final Edition with 18-inch wheels, two-tone leather interior and enhanced equipment.
VW investigating Golf water leak discovered by car magazine
Sat, 07 Sep 2013Volkswagen is in a spat with German magazine Auto Bild over claims that its new, seventh-generation Golf may already need a recall. The German weekly reports that new Golfs can leak water into front-passenger footwells due to a faulty drainage tube in their air conditioning systems.
And while the fix itself doesn't sound too terrible, because Volkswagen bases so many cars off the same platform as the Golf, Auto Bild is claiming that 300,000 models could be affected, including the Audi A3 and Seat Leon. That's a very bold claim. For its part, VW is vehemently denying that number, according to Reuters, saying it's aware of the problem and claiming only 46 Golfs need fixing. In addition, it denies that any Audi or Seat models are affected by the issue.
Either way, regardless of how pervasive this leak issue is, North American buyers should rest easy knowing that the problems ought to get fixed by the time the Mk VII Golf finaly reaches our dealerships.
