It is a 1962 vehicle, with appropriate wear and tear for a 51 year old car."

I am selling my 1962 VW Ragtop Sunroof bug. This car is my pride and joy, and has been garage kept since the day I bought her. She is an original black plate California car, that I had shipped to Florida. I had wanted to lower the car, but she is to pretty and original to mess with. I have had the car for two years, and have placed less than 900 miles on the car.

About the Car (The Good):
----------------------------------------
Original, number matching, pan, body, and engine 1962 bug
Solid Original Floor Pans (Undercoated)
Solid Heater Channels
Door close tight, with no sag, or rotting of the driver or passenger A-Post.
Electrical works
Original 6 Volt
Original, non grafted Rag Top, that opens and closes smoothly
New Rag on Ragtop
Original Color car, had one re spray years ago.
Original Radio,
Original Glove Box,
Original Trunk Liner
On original Stock Smoothies
Original Suspension.
Unmolested car
Dash has never been cut
This car is unmolested
This car is a real Eye catcher, and head turner
Car runs solid
Shifts smooth through all four gears
Clutch does not pop out,
No issues with the Syncro
Car runs like a champ
Brakes work well, with no pulling upon stopping

The Minor Issues:
----------------------------
-Paint re sprayed years ago, it is all in original color. The paint has some dings in it from wear and tear over the years. I never painted the car, because I like the character of the wear on the original color paint.
-Needs new Window and Door Molding. (Never replaced, as I don't drive the car in the rain)
-Door Dent in the back Left Fender
-Floor pans were undercoated. Some people like this, I do not. The pans are all original with no rust threw.
-Seats could used to be redone (I liked the character of them as well)

In closing, this is an amazing bug, and is and was my dream bug. I bought this car with the intentions of lowering it, but she is to original, and truly is a well preserved specimen. I could not bring myself to even remotely do anything un-stock to this car.

This car would make an insane vehicle for a full restoration, or would and does make a great vehicle to keep untouched and 100% Original.
I am in no need of selling this car, I just feel bad that she sits in my garage 99% of the time. I would like to see someone who loves, and appreciates original old bugs, be able to really enjoy this car and treat her as she deserves and needs to be treated.

Any questions or comments, please let me know. I can send videos or phots of anything you would like to see about the car upon request.

Thanks!

(This car is being sold as is, with no implied warranty or refund. Buyer is responsible for shipping, and pick up. Deposit required within 24 hours. Seller reserves the right to end the auction at any time. Higher rated Ebay Purchasers preferred) ++Deposit required within 24 hours, non refundable if you back out of the sale++

Why this could be the perfect time for Apple to make a car play

Fri, Aug 31 2018

While the automotive and technology worlds have been pouring billions into autonomous vehicles (AVs) and preparing to bring them to market soon as shared robo-taxis, Apple has mostly sat on the sidelines. Of course, Apple is the last company to ever make its intentions known, and the super-secret tech cult giant hasn't been totally out of the AV game based on the clues that have slipped out of its Cupertino, Calif., citadel over the past few years. Related: Apple self-driving cars are real — one was just in an accident News first broke in 2015 that it had assembled an automotive development team, in part by poaching high-profile talent from car companies, to work on a top-secret self-driving vehicle project code-named Titan. (Thank you very much, Nissan.) Apple also subsequently broke cover by making inquiries into using a Northern California AV testing facility and receiving a permit to test AVs on public roads in California. But then as the AV race started to heat up in the last few years, Apple reportedly began scaling back its car activities by downsizing team Titan. More recently, Apple's car project has shown signs of life with the hiring a high-level engineer away from Waymo and luring one Tesla's top engineers and a former employee back to Apple. It also inked a deal with Volkswagen to provide a technology platform and software to convert the automaker's new T6 Transporter vans into autonomous shuttles for employees at tech company's new campus. That is a far cry from giving rides to Wal-Mart shoppers, like Waymo is doing as part of its AV testing in Phoenix. But this could be the perfect time for Apple to enter the AV market now that ride-sharing is reaching critical mass and automakers and others are planning to deploy fleets of robo-taxis. Apple could easily establish a niche as a high-end ride-sharing service – and charge a premium – given its cult-like brand loyalty and design savvy. The growth of car subscription models could also play in Apple's favor since is already has many people hooked on paying for phones in monthly installments – and eager to upgrade when a new and better model becomes available. To achieve this, some believe Apple will fulfill co-founder and CEO Steve Job's dream of building a car. And as the world's first and only $1 trillion company it's sitting on a mountain of cash that certainly gives it the means. But other tech darlings like Tesla and Google have discovered how difficult it can be to build cars at scale.

Giorgetto Giugiaro sells shares in legendary styling house to Audi

Sat, Jul 4 2015

Giorgetto Giugiaro undoubtedly stands among the great automotive designers of the 20th century, having penned the original Volkswagen Golf and Delorean DMC-12, among countless others. However, the great stylist is now longer an employee or even an owner of the company that bears his name. According to Automotive News, Giugiaro and his son, Fabrizio, sold their remaining 9.9 percent of Italdesign Giugiaro to Audi on Sunday, June 28, and the two resigned from the business the following day. The news about this just came out, though. The exact reason that the two men left the company hasn't been made entirely clear. According to Automotive News, a statement said that Giorgetto Giugiaro went "to dedicate more time to his personal interests." Italdesign Giugiaro remains open and intends to keep growing, though, the same announcement asserts. After stints at Bertone and Ghia, Giugiaro founded Italdesign in 1968. He created some masterpieces there, including '70s wedges like Maserati Merak, Lotus Esprit, and much more. The 2000s weren't so kind and 90.1 percent of the company was sold to Volkswagen Group in 2010. Former Audi design boss Wolfgang Egger took over styling duties there in late 2013, but he only lasted for about a year, leaving in late 2014. Since the sale, Italdesign has continued to work, including with the Gea concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and the very mean-looking Parcour in 2013. Giugiaro's designs are still highly prized, as well. On September 5, Bonhams is auctioning the Maserati Boomerang concept by him and expects to get around $4 million for it. The gallery above offers a few more examples of his and Italdesign's concepts for VW Group over the years.

Audi CVT suit settlement given green light, 64,000 cars covered

Mon, 07 Oct 2013

Audi drivers, listen up. If you bought or leased a 2002-06 model-year A4 or A6 with a factory-installed Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) that failed, you may be entitled to reimbursement under a recently settled class-action lawsuit with corporate parent Volkswagen.
According to Automotive News, the settlement covers about 64,000 vehicles and alleges that "manufacturing and design problems caused the transmissions to fail and left owners stuck with repair costs." While the suit also argues Audi was aware of these issues (going so far as to hide that knowledge from consumers), the settlement stops short of acknowledging any wrongdoing by the German automaker.
Audi drivers are eligible for a cash reimbursement if their CVT repairs occurred within 10 years or 100,000 miles of the date they bought or leased the vehicle before June 19, 2013. To be eligible for compensation, drivers must submit a claim form (found here) with supporting documents by November 18.
