This car has been in my family for over 30 years and so I am sad to sell it, but it has been sitting, waiting for the restoration I thought about with good intentions, but never got the time or the money to make it a reality.  I would like to see it go to someone who will restore this beauty to mint with original white top, white seats, whitewalls, etc. as I can remember when I was 5.

This is a 1962 Volkswagen Karmann Convertible with all original body, the convertible top has been replaced, and I have put seat covers over the original white seats, both front and back.
The original engine has been replaced with a 1964.  This had already been replaced by the owner prior to when my uncle bought it originally.

This car has been sitting outside, under the tarp for the last 10+ years.  It was running well until I stopped driving it and parked it then.
In preparation for the restoration that I never got to, I had purchased over a thousand dollars worth of parts such as: floor pans, heater channels, running boards, carpet, brake shoes, etc ...I am including all of these parts that you see pictured along with the sale of the car.

a few notes...
The car has been converted to the 12 Volt system instead of the 6 Volt as it was originally.
The bumpers were lost in a move.
I do have the title.

I have honestly tried, to the best of my ability, disclose the condition of the car.  If you have any questions or would like me to send any particular pictures, let me know and I will be happy to do that.  All sales are final and "as is"and a $2000 PayPal deposit is required within 24 hours after the end of the auction.  The remaining balance may be paid on pickup or after auction end via cash, or bank transfer. Local pickup only- Buyer is responsible for the loading and transportation of the vehicle.  Arrangement for pickup may be made after the purchase. Please pick up the vehicle within 1 month of purchase or I reserve the right to keep the deposit and relist the car.  Any bidders who do not pay will be reported to ebay. Please bid only if you intend to purchase according to the parameters of the sale.

Thanks for looking! Good luck!!!

Germany says nein to EU ban on new fossil-fuel cars from 2035

Tue, Jun 21 2022

BERLIN (Reuters) - Germany's government will not agree to European Union plans to effectively ban the sale of new cars with combustion engines from 2035, Finance Minister Christian Lindner said on Tuesday. In its bid to cut planet-warming emissions by 55% by 2030 from 1990 levels, the European Commission has proposed a 100% reduction in CO2 emissions from new cars by 2035. That means it would be impossible to sell combustion engine cars from then. European Parliament lawmakers backed the proposals this month, before negotiations with EU countries on the final law take place. Speaking at an event hosted by Germany's BDI industry association, Lindner said there would continue to be niches for combustion engines so a ban was wrong and said the government would not agree to this European legislation. Lindner, a member of the pro-business Free Democrats, which shares power with the Social Democrats and Greens, said Germany would still be a leading market for electric vehicles. Skoda unveils Volkswagen Up!-based Citigo

Tue, 27 Sep 2011

This is the all-new Skoda Citigo, and if you're thinking that it looks rather familiar, that's because its Volkswagen-badged kin recently debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. That's right, the long-rumored Skoda version of Volkswagen's new Up! city car has finally arrived.
Buyers will have a choice of two 1.0-liter three-cylinder engines - one with 59 horsepower, the other with a 74 hp and a blistering 106 mph top speed - both mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Powerful they are not, but these three-bangers should prove to be extremely efficient, with Skoda quoting fuel economy numbers of 62.8 and 60.1 miles per gallon, respectively (on the European cycle).
Being a Skoda, the Citigo will go on sale in its home market of the Czech Republic this fall, with the rest of Europe getting the car next summer. Follow the jump for Skoda's official release.

Anti-union group files lawsuit against VW and UAW

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

The fight for unionization at Volkswagen's Chattanooga, TN, factory isn't letting up. Yesterday, the National Labor Relations Board decided to allow anti-United Auto Workers employees at the plant the right to defend voting down the measure. Now, a group called the National Right to Work Foundation has filed a federal lawsuit on behalf of five workers against VW and the UAW for allegedly working together to organize.
The group says in a release that it wants "to block further collusion between the company and the United Auto Workers." It alleges that VW forced workers to attend "mandatory pro-union meetings" and prevented managers from opposing. In a rebuttal on its website, the UAW called the claims "baseless" and said its actions were entirely legal.
One possible problem faces the carmaker in regards to the lawsuit. According to the Detroit Free Press, a recent US Court of Appeals ruling found that neutrality agreements like the one the business had with the UAW could be illegal if the company provided "things of value" to the union. The newspaper also claims that VW held a mandatory employee meeting concerning the election, but workers were free to leave during the UAW's presentation.
