1958 Vw Beetle Convertible Volkswagen Classic Rat Rod Head Turning Convertible on 2040-cars
Saint Cloud, Minnesota, United States
1958 VW Convertible Rat Rod. In good running and operating condition. Daily driver, runs and drives very well. Has clear Minnesota title in my name. Serial number is a 1958, but is titled as a 1959. Nice grey/rust patina. Very solid car, but has some rust in underside of front doors. 1967 1300cc motor and transmission, has a little VW 4th gear whine. New 12 volt battery, new starter, electric fuel pump, MSD ignition with coil and wires. Body off, frame restoration, new floor pans, steering and front end rebuilt with very good suspension front and rear. Almost new tires. New windshield and all glass is good except for passenger side wing vent glass is missing. I have original folding frame for the top, no top canvas. Needs signal lights wired, windshield wiper motor installed (I have motor and wipers). Gas tank is a 6 gallon metal fuel tank. I have a 1965 gas tank and rear bumper that goes with the car, along with a large box of miscellaneous period VW parts. This is a very fun, head turning car to drive. Not meant to be a polishing, garage sitting, afraid to drive and scratch the paint collector car.........................

Volkswagen Group previews its wares on eve of Geneva show
Mon, 05 Mar 2012The Volkswagen Group is comprised of 11 brands producing 240 vehicles across 49 factories throughout the world. So the best way to show off the range of the VW family is to cram a few thousand journalists and VIPs into a massive makeshift stand to outline the Group's goals, what's in the pipeline and what you'll be able to buy later this year.
To that end, VW pulled out all the stops on the eve of the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, bringing along 10 vehicles from across the range. We'll be delving into the details of each over the next two days of show coverage, but before that happens, you can read all about what we saw tonight from the cheap seats after the break.

VW recognizes second union at Chattanooga plant
Wed, Feb 18 2015The ongoing story of organizing workers at Volkswagen's factory in Chattanooga, TN, continues to get more complicated. Following an independent audit, the automaker has now recognized a second union at the plant called the American Council of Employees. The group was founded there last year to offer an alternative to the United Auto Workers. "I'm not anti-union. I understand that a properly run union can benefit people. We will be that union," Sean Moss, president of the ACE, said to Reuters, according to Automotive News. The group claims to represent at least 15 percent of the workers at the plant. Acceptance of the ACE has led to an interesting situation in Chattanooga because VW also recognized the UAW at the factory in December 2014, and the group has claimed to represent at least 45 percent of workers there. According to Automotive News, each union has access to management, but the UAW has more because of its larger contingent of supporters. However, neither organization has a collective bargaining agreement with the automaker. Moss may have a rough time increasing support among employees at the factory. According to Automotive News, many anti-UAW workers there are completely against unions in general. Getting these folks to join his group isn't an easy task. The UAW has been working to fully represent the VW factory for years. However, the group lost a vote to do so in 2014. It eventually created a union local there to try to build support. All of the effort comes ahead of a $900 million plant expansion to add about 2,000 jobs and build a new crossover in Tennessee.
